This oasis of calm is found between the Scarborough Civic Centre and Scarborough Town Centre. Came here during the lunch rush and just took a look around at the sculptures and architecture. Sat down at one of the many benches (they have many tables as well) shaded by the trees and enjoyed listening to the birds and the sound of the man made waterfall. After my moment of calm I headed to the busy Towne Centre, I was ready to face the masses.

The Harbourfront Ice Skating Rink may be back but it's a mere shadow of its former self and is a completely unremarkable venue now. I had planned to skate there but when I saw where they had moved the rink and the awful condition of the ice, I was flabbergasted and changed my mind!! Everything that made the original rink unique and special was gone!! When you came to the Natrel rink you could enjoy skating around the freeform sunken edged rink all while taking in a marvellous, unobstructed view of Lake Ontario. The ice was always one of the best outdoor ice surfaces to skate on in the city as well. It was always very well maintained and a great surface for outdoor skating. Unfortunately it is now just a poor quality rectangular ice pad with a view of the underside of the highway and buildings. Oh sure they have put some lights up on the thin tree trunks to try and make it look better but it still falls short. For me the experience is ruined forever. (Unless they decide to put the rink back where it was and maintain it better). It's sad that they didn't put more thought into what actually made the rink unique in the first place and what made it a great place to skate. I had been anxiously awaiting its reopening but was sorely disappointed to see what it has become. It is comdevoid of any previous charm and is no longer a good skating venue. I will not be back!

I love this skating rink. So beautiful. Once of my favourites. Perfect place for a dateread more

Wow! Awesome rink! So I came here on. Wednesday night (adult…read moreretro night). It was also the start of the annual Borderline Jam which I was unfamiliar with since I'm just getting back into skating again but there were so many incredibly talented skaters it just blew me away! I am just an average rollerblader. I haven't hit a rink in a quarter century until this past week so I can't even remember how to skate backwards but I still go fast and just flying around the rink listening to music on a great sound system with fun lighting was enough to make me happy and get great exercise too! Admission is usually $10 (I had to pay $15 because of the special event). There are skates to rent but I know nothing more as I have my own. There are plenty of lockers and they are a quarter to lock each time (I was busy skating and never opened it again until I left). The key doesn't have a wrist band so make sure you have a pocket or a fanny pack or something to put it in. There is a snack bar with things like pizza, pizza logs, nachos, popcorn, etc. at a fair price. There are also some alcoholic beverages! There's also vending machines with plenty of snacks and drinks. There is an arcade too which I wanted to play but unfortunately almost every game was turned off and no one at the ticket counter - im not sure if it is like that every adult night or just due to the special event but I wanted to play some games! Staff was friendly but so were the people! Everyone that came up to me was just genuinely being nice and inclusive and not being a creep. That really made me feel happy and excited to come back. What I love the most was all shapes sizes ages colors genders styles and skill sets all harmonized as one. Everyone was really enjoying themselves, getting along nicely, if someone is coming around you fast they will make a noise so you know or they may gently touch you for a moment so you know they rounding you so no one falls. It was really a nice venue with wonderful people where you can feel safe and free from all of the silly arguments you see on social media, or rudeness you see out in the wild quite often. Whether your 80 years old and still able to fly around the rink, younger and full of dance moves on skates that make heads turn, average like me, or just starting out and need some help .. and people there will be happy to help you ... this is the place to be! I really look forward to coming here again soon.

So we will only be two topics Pool and staff so lets go! POOL: Alright so right off the bat. my visits. there was a kid who threw up 2 times different times and different days. And that was couple of days after it just opened. now its like what. but the rest of the times. it was good. Its very cold for cold weather. but if hot. it could be amazing. like amazing amazing. in case of babys bathrooms or shower. There are shower rooms that have showers then a dressing room (sometimes its locked sometimes its not) it just depends. but back to the topic there is a bathroom. now A QUICK WARNING. because people are going to need it. if you are a boy. who needs to use the washroom. if you go to the boys shower room and head to the bathroom. there is only one stall. now if you head to the unviersal. there is multiple. and the showers are the same only 4 for all shower rooms. there is a office for FIRST AID and more. STAFF: Now this one is going to be pretty short unlike the pool one. because well there isnt much things to say. some staff are nice some are not. and thats kind what sums it. as there really isnt nothing else to say expect most of the staff are nice. SHOULD YOU GO TO THIS POOL: Yea! Its peaceful sometimes. can get a bit crowed but if you are near mcgregor and want to go do a quick swim. this is your place! - Ethan K.

I remember spending 13 days in four different Toronto community centres including this one from 24-Dec-2013 to 04-Jan-2014. The North American event was called the 2013 Toronto Ice Storm locally. So much of this city was impacted by the significant severe winter weather storm that included a crippling blanket of ice that forced Toronto to open up a number of community centres as emergency shelters. I even celebrated my birthday here during a midnight shift, complete with a cake that another volunteer bought and then totally surprised me with! The staff here were terrific, then and now. What great memories about what these functional community centre are when times were really tough, and when I'm only here to freely exercise my democratic right to Vote!
