We hired Pat back in March/early April for drywall repair due to mold, minor roof repairs, and concrete work for the yard. He was nice and came out the same day as the request for an estimate. The contract was signed shortly after. He even worked w my insurance to provide the right verbiage on the contract, which was appreciated. It has really been a mess since. The work was initially planned to start in "two weeks tops". A week before the "start" date, we provided close to a 30% deposit, as requested. I didn't realize there is a state limit to what a contractor should request (10%) before starting work, so putting out that much money initially was my mistake. The work was going to start the following week, so no big deal right? Huge problem... When no one showed up to start work, I assumed they got behind. We live quite far from the business location. I reached out at the end of April, early May, end of May, and each time was told it would be another 2-3 weeks before they could come out. I reach out the end of June, and at that time, he was unable to give us a start date. I finally gave him the option to pick a start date, cut the project down to a more manageable size, or just cancel the contract and return the deposit.He took the latter option. Well, it's been months now since we cancelled the contract, and he still owes 30% of the deposit we put down. We are well past the 10 day window for a contractor to return the deposit... with lots of excuses for the delay. Now, he is no longer replying to my attempts to reach out. Although I am unable to provide feedback on the actual work he provides, with everything we have gone through the last half a year, I feel this 1 star review is absolutely warranted. read more

Pat Davies Clarke is an extremely unethical and unprofessional non-contractor. He can't communicate clearly or effectively, can't seem to ever have enough resources to do work, and raised his voice several times over the phone when he got frustrated or was unable to communicate his point. Further, and this is the worst part, he collected a bunch of insurance money after damaging our house, and then cut off communication. He is a scammer with no ethical character, and I hope that no one else has to go through the pain that I have by working with him. If you do work with him, have a lawyer look at everything. It's so sad that people like this exist in the world. read more

Patrick Davies works under the name Pat Clarke Construction. He under bid our 2 Bathroom remodel, took $23,500 of the $28,500 total bid up front, and did not complete the job. Now he says we need to find someone else to finish. There is no glass in the shower among other things left undone in the Master, and the guest bath is just destroyed. He took our money and did not buy the materials. Very dishonest contractor. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Patrick seemed like a nice guy when we met and provided a bid for our remodel in a timely manner. He later tried to demand we pay for his time to write up the bid after we told him we were waiting for other bids to come in. Steer clear of this guy. EDIT: in response to Patrick's comment below.... Not that an explanation is deserved, but I don't appreciate the name calling and want to clear things up. First of all, we submitted TWO estimates to insurance and they suggested we get another one because of the price difference between the two. Second, we are waiting on insurance to settle the claim before any work is started. Finally, and most importantly, the threatening and vulgar voicemail you left yesterday was not only unnecessary but extremely unprofessional, however, it speaks volumes about your character. Pat seems like he knows what he is doing and talks a good game. Ultimately he will ask for money up front and your work will not be completed. Go with another, reputable and licensed contractor. He has changed markets and his name has changed too, be wary. read more

I Had a problem finding someone In Lake County who could install electric heaters for me. We have been watching a new home being built in Lucerne went up in lighting speed, My wife said we should ask that contractor if he knows of someone to who could help. Patrick came buy with his helper installed heater for me then when I wanted to pay refused my money and thanked me for my service seeing I'm a disabled Veteran. He did not even attempt to provide any resolution. Based on other reviews, I am not the only one he has disappointed in a transaction. Those other positive reviews appear to be fraudulent. The contractor came to install and refused to install the flooring until the floors were level. So we reached out to several contractors and only three responded. Two of them set up times to come but never made it. Pat responded and actually came to the house and did the job. His team did an amazing job. They went above and beyond.
