I never leave Landmark in Makati without having bought or eaten my favorite (!!!) Fresh Vegetarian Lumpia at Pat-Lin Delicacies. I may buy a meal from another food outlet but I will order and eat my lumpia on the side.
The lumpia is pretty simple: steamed shredded carrots and turnips (maybe) are wrapped in good old lumpia wrapper with a leaf or two of lettuce, some peanuts, and hoti (seaweed). It is then drizzled with sweet lumpia sauce and hot sauce (optional, but I recommend it as it adds a different layer of flavor and is not too hot, anyway). You can still taste the distinct ingredients at every bite, but they also mesh together quite nicely. I am writing this late at night and already, my mouth is watering at the thought of eating that lumpia. Maybe I should visit Landmark again soon.
Pat-Lin's current stall is beside McDonald's in the humongous foodcourt at the department store basement. Apart from the Vegetarian version, they also sell Fresh Lumpia in Classic, Meaty, and Sugar-Free flavors. read more
