On calling to enquire if this was covered under warranty I was reassured, without hesitation, that it was (for three years) and told to bring my car in. A new Catalytic Converter was ordered and fitted withing 24 hours, no questions asked. The member of staff who dealt with me from start to finish was Liam, He was professional, polite and friendly and kept me informed at every stage. I was very happy with the service provided by Kwik Fit who proved true to their after sales commitments . Excellent service.

I swore too, I admit, but the treatment was so dreadful I had lost the rag by then. I was forced to drive away in a vehicle not fit for the road, by incompetent mechanics that had made the problem worse, without even the decency to help me change to the spare. Bear in mind that I could not have put the spare on myself on the premises as I was told that I was not insured to do anyhting myself in their garage. It was simply astonishing, and I have never had an experience this bad with any other business ever.

So, he swung his car into the nearest mechanic and went on his way. They phoned him once, saying that the brakes needed this that and the other thing, and oh did he want a full service while he was there? He agreed, and away they went. When we picked up the car we were greeted by the manager who mentioned that they'd had to jump the car to get it started. They what? He said that there was an issue with the alternator. There was? Since when? He reported that the battery wasn't charging properly because of this and the car might not turn on again without a jump. What??? When my guy dropped his car off, the only issue was with the brakes. All of a sudden it's being reported that there is a major electrical fault which, by the way, is going to cost about £250 to fix. We had places to be and were confident that there couldn't really be a problem because we'd had absolutely no problems with the alternator before taking it to Kwik Fit, so we took the car and headed on our way. Five minutes later the car started ticking, then all of the lights on the dashboard went off. We pulled the car over to check it out, turned it off, and were never able to turn it back on. We have since been told that the alternator really can go at any time. It's a tough one though, because mechanics have a bad reputation and as such it is very hard not to wonder at the amazing timing of the whole thing. The alternator was perfectly fine and the battery light was off before taking it in. Upon picking it up, the whole thing's screwed and needs an overhaul? What? Beyond that, under the assumption that this was indeed a problem from the start, the question put to us by the roadside assistance guy was - why on earth did they do all of the fiddly little additions to the service, and not even mention the alternator until we arrived to pick up the car? We were told that this should absolutely have been dealt with before anything else. So, the car has now been taken to a different mechanic who is miles away, but our view is that anyone is better than Kwik Fit.

It took me two visits of asking for an update before a part was mysteriously sourced within ten minutes of my second visit. I was then quoted a rather high repair bill but due to desperation, I agreed to get it done, on the assumption that it would also be re-MOT'd at the end of it. I was phoned on the day, after the repairs were done, to be told that I would not be getting an MOT and if I wanted one, due to the time it took to get repaired, I would have to pay full price again. I ultimately took my business elsewhere and regret ever going there.

When i went to drop my car off I said to my friend I had a bad feeling and no chance was my car going to pass and guess what it failed. I was quoted £145 to replace a cracked bolt in the suspension. When i phoned around I was told £99 was the max. I queried the cost and £42 was immediately taken off. The pick up time was put back and back as they were having problems getting some old screws off when I eventually did pick up the car I drove to the top of the road and had to come back. Ever time I turned the steering wheel the car shuddered. After twenty minutes of" looking over" the car the Manager returned to say nothing was wrong. When I left the garage the problem had magically disappeared.I will never use or recommend this garage again and if I had seen the previous review I would not have booked. No point getting a cheap MOT when you have no faith in the integrity of the garage. If I knew where the old guy who used to work there had gone I would go there next year but will definitely not be coming back to this place. Avoid!

Normally they offer discounts and right I was. Tyres can be expensive, so why not choose wisely. They have a small office. I entered and found two people operating behind the front desk. Both were very welcoming and offered their help and a cup of tea/coffee from the vendor machine in the corner. I received several quotes: with and without insurance, for popular and branded models as well as for standard tyre makes. Luckily there was not much going on in the yard and they were all very willing to change my tyres right there, right then. I got a quote and decided to go for two new tyres after having been briefed on their current state, which was not so good. They explained why my tyres are old and the possible reason for not having a good grip on the road surface. I am giving this place a five star, because the service was fast, efficient, friendly, quick and affordable.

My car is only 4 years old and doesn't have that many miles, so everything should still be fine. Kwikfit however failed the MOT telling the front breaks are releasing unevenly and suggested the brake disks would need to be replaced. They refused to give me estimated costs for this, but I found out online they would be charging about 400 pounds to have that done. I doubted the failure however and went to another garage and had this point looked into. They told me the breaks were fine and release of the front-breaks was spot-on. I had the MOT done in yet another garage who also confirmed the breaks were just fine and the MOT was passed without touching the breaks. I would avoid this Kwikfit at all costs. They do allow you to take a coffee in the waiting area which is nice but doesn't make up for them trying to deceive me.
