Updating last year's review to say this spot is slowly becoming a traditional for my girls and I. We went a few days before the 4th and they're so nice here. One guy even gave them some smoke bombs and a giant parachute on the house. Ok now for the nuts and bolts: When I was a teenager, I went nuts for fireworks. We'd stop on the way to the Lake of the Ozarks and just blow through money to put on a show for the family. Times changed and honestly I lost all interest... until my neighbors invited us over to play with their kids and some smaller fireworks last year. We determined we had to get at least some this year, and this was the highest rated spot on Yelp. It delivered! We weren't looking for much as I have two young kids; smoke bombs, parachutes, poppers, sparklers, and my oldest really wanted those flaming hens that lay eggs. We were in luck on a humid summer night before the 4th, finding everything we needed. I can't say the value was there.. these kind of tents are notorious for being overly inflated, even in more normal times. However, we don't do this often so whatever, we're paying for some fun entertainment for a night or two. Staff was very friendly, complimenting my daughter's dress and chatting her up. The look on my kiddo's face made it worth parting with $50-100, and I'd probably go the extra few miles out of the way to return next year. read more

Update: Upon reviewing my review the owner personally contacted me himself and apologized for our "duds" and was quick to offer a solution to make it right. Growing up as the daughter of a small business owner myself, this level of customer service is very much appreciated and will definitely have me coming back in the future to give them another chance! Thank you again for offering a solution and for your heartfelt message and desire to make it right! Limited selection of smaller fireworks for kids and on several signs I noticed different prices or descriptions saying they came in a bundle when they didn't. I would say a little under half of our fireworks were duds (wicks came out of pooping dogs, dragon falls over and explodes when it's not supposed to, race cars just exploded instead of actually going, Roman candles did not shoot off 10 balls like stated) so as you can imagine my little guy (3) was rather upset and that's not something easy to explain. I will say the staff was helpful and friendly but as a firework stand I will not be returning. read more

By far the coolest fireworks stand in KC. Crazy deals on artillery shells and everything else, plus on-site BBQ, and *good* gourmet cold-brewed coffee and baked desserts (plus free samples!). @patriotsfireworks is WELL WORTH the easy drive. Highly recommended. Great people, too. read more
