I am so happy that I found Dr. Basedow. He is beyond kind and truly takes his time to ensure his patient's satisfaction in their visit. He spent time answering each and every one of my questions, including those about different services offered at Azalea, more specifically, dermal fillers- which I definitely would go back to receive. She also told me I would have to have my baby on a specific day of the week or she would not be delivering. She did standard prenatal pap testing and it came back with an abnormal result. I was already listed as high risk and at risk of miscarriage, and she demanded I come back in for immediate treatment, a surgery that is contraindicated during pregnancy. Her staff would call me multiple times a day and harass me about coming in to have surgery while pregnant. I ended up switching to Dr Courtney who was in the same practice and I never looked back. He took care of me and my son, and was the delivering doctor. This SOMC office started canceling my appointments at the last minute toward the end of my pregnancy and even after. I was delayed having my 6 week PP check and another pap by three months, and they canceled my colposcopy as I was driving into town. Because of this, we couldn't keep a close eye on my abnormal results and after Courtney left the practice, I followed him to his new office. He found that the cells had changed significantly and I had surgery just yesterday for it. I'm actually feeling great after the surgery! I will continue having Dr Courtney as my provider, as he actually takes his time, talks to, and treats his patients as people, instead of telling them what they *have* to do like Dr Tirumala did with me.
