However, after the experience first hand, I believe this is an outstanding approach and much different from the model where they task doctors to see hundreds of patients and charge as much as possible. This membership model is affordable, but more so my new Primary Care Doctor at Family Tree Primary Care took time to go over all my concerns as well as what she wanted to go over too in great detail. I did not feel rushed and I did not feel like another number. Everything was clearly explained and the discounts for a wide variety of services ranging from bloodwork to scanning, medications to other tests are outstanding. I believe this model of patient engagement, connection and authentic concern for health and wellness is a great alternative to the popular and less effective primary care model that is out there. To me, this is the future of patient care, where a patient is cared for as the individual person.

Dr. Rosen is very caring, very good about returning phone calls if there is an emergency or a question, even if it is after hours and he is paged. When my mother recently had a problem with spiking BP, Dr. Rosen actually called Mother back from a Magic game. He has never failed to be cordial, concerned, and compassionate. All messages are promptly and courteously relayed. The receptionist is often the first line of communication, and if he/she is not reliable, no matter how good the doctor is, it complicates things for the patient and can often result in unnecessary frustration for both patient and physician. Both Mari and Stephanie are GREAT. The only downside is that Dr. Rosen relies on hospitalists if one of his patients is hospitalized. However, that has no reflection on Dr. Rosen's abilites as an excellent, very compassionate doctor, but the use of hospitalists to care for patients is not, in my opinion, to the patient's advantage. I wish that Dr. Rosen had hospital privileges so that if my parents were ever hospitalized, he would be able to be the one to directly oversee their care. I highly recommend Dr. Rosen.

The staff is sociable enough, but that doesn't make up for the wait times. Just to drop a urine sample, the wait was over twenty minutes. Spoke with Rose first. She actually denied giving me an appointment. She started asking irrelevant questions and said I had to follow up with the hospital or the surgeon. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. At this point I was still in an extreme amount of pain and taking large doses of pain medication. To be denied an appointment by your primary care doctor's office, after a surgery with major complications? Can they do that? So I asked to speak with the office manager. After being put on hold for at least 5 minutes I spoke with Jackie. They obviously colluded, because I had the exact same conversation with her. I asked both of them at the end of the conversation, are you denying me an appointment? They both said yes. A few minutes later I got an email saying that they had canceled my future appointment in December with my primary care provider, to add insult to injury. Literally. At that point, I called the office back and spoke with Rosa and asked for the name and number of Jackie's supervisor. She put me on hold for a considerable amount of time and then proceeded to give me a bogus phone number, off by one digit. I confirmed the number with her before hanging up. Had to call back a third time to get the correct number from Mike. Added note, my surgery was almost canceled because Mike dropped the ball in getting the correct pre-authorization information to my surgeon's office prior to the surgery. I've always have had great experiences with Advent health and their physicians over the last 5 years. The incompetence, lack of caring, lack of empathy and concern that I experienced this past Monday is incomprehensible to me. This office is relatively new, please do not make the assumption that they have your back. Unbelievable that an organization the size of Advent health would allow something like this to happen.
