My experience with Dr Patete has been very positive. He was able to squeeze me in for an appt when my regular ENT Dr could not get to me for over a month. My experience with him and his staff has been very good and I recommend him without hesitation. What some reviewers describe as "rude" may be what I consider to be his focus on getting the job done. Some older folks are looking for someone to keep them company. They should join a social club. Dr Papete is knowledgeable, to the point, and anxious to diagnose and cure your problems. I went to him because I had wax buildup in my ears which he was supposed to clear. I ended up loosing 80% of my hearing in my left ear. I have been going to doctors in PA for years for this issue before seeing him and I never had any hearing loss. I told him I couldn't hear when I left the office but he ignored me. I returned 3 weeks later when hearing loss became worse and he sent me for an MRi and gave me a course of steroids which did nothing. He suggested I get a hearing test done with an audiologist. He never called or followed up to see how I was doing. Stay away!!!! read more

As a recently retired RN, with over 30 years experience in healthcare, I tend to be very judgmental of the profession. Dr Patete and his staff are first rate: 1- They are ON TIME. If your appt is for 1pm, you are seen at 1pm. 2- very thorough in getting your history and getting to know you. 3-Dr Patete talks to you in a clear concise manner, on your level. 4- unlike some doctors, Dr Patete is not afraid to touch you in his assessments. Dr Patete is one of the rudest most unprofessional doctors I have ever had the displeasure to meet. His bedside manner is that of a bully. Very unsympathetic and not interested in hearing what you have to say at all. Brusque. A total waste of time and extremely expensive. Under no circumstances meet with Dr Patete. As indicated by another review, he is old, burnt out, and should retire. read more

At all cost do not go to Dr Patete. He misdiagnosed me. I had to go all the way to Sarasota to Dr. Clark and he did the surgery. Dr. Patete is just waiting out his days until he can retire. I wouldn't have given him any stars. Beware!! read more
