When i moved to morgantown, this was the first place i went to try and get outfitted for the summer riding season. I needed all new gear and a new bike and i knew what i wanted, so it should have been very simple. I got almost no help, it took me 15min to get someone's attention (on a wed afternoon) and when i did, he was friendly, but then after a couple of questions, he LITERALLY WALKED AWAY from me and just started texting and virtually ignoring me. Quick yes/no answers followed and when i asked if we could order my bike so i could pay for it up front, he didn't even take me seriously! Now i realize that some people are just stupid, but i have tried going back in several times to check selection and shop for gear and i get almost the same treatment from everyone there. I usually do not get a greeting from any employee and have to bother someone to get help. Most of the time i just find what i like and then call another bike shop across town and buy it from them. My advice, stay away and get help elsewhere read more

They legitimately care about your skating experience. If you have an issue with your board, grip, hardware, ect. they will do whatever they can to amend your problems. Manager over the skate section is an extremely kind individual and helped me greatly. I have spent a lot of money in the store and they gave back. read more

About 8 years ago, my oldest son was 4 and was getting into biking and I was getting into it for the first time in years. We went to pathfinder and got helmets and rode the bikes we had (his walmart bike). A couple years later, he was ready for a 24 inch bike so I got a Giant brand 24 inch bike off ebay. It needed adjustment so I took it to Pathfinder. Tall blond guy Mac was very rude to me and had been before but this time, he told me to wait. Then he asked if I bought the bike there. I said no and he wheeled it in the back of the shop and I heard its tires run and then hit a shelf or something, I didn't see it but you could hear the tires on the concrete and then a huge crashing noise. The bike mechanic behind the counter cringed it was so loud. I'm sure this Mac guy pushed it as hard as he could across the back area of the shop into a shelf. At least that's what it sounded like to me. A week later, me and my son were on the bike trail and his cranks were clunking. I took it to another shop and they had to re-thread the bottom bracket because the threads were damaged. I guess one of the pedals hit the shelf or whatever hard enough to damage the threads in the bracket. I can't prove it, but I have never gone back to Pathfinder and have bought five bikes since then from Wamsleys cycles. Plus countless repairs from Wamsleys, I'll never go to pathfinder again. Imagine my son who was six at the time gets to hear this guy be rude and then hear his bike pushed into a shelf in the back room. Even he could tell what was going on. read more

Wow Chris -- don't know who you ran into. Maybe it's you? I have never once experienced an arrogant jerk in Pathfinder. On the contrary, they have bent over backward to help me out. This store is a part of the community in Morgantown -- they don't carry everything, but they have lots of great gear, they know what they're talking about and they will definitely help you, even if (especially if) you're just starting out. read more

If that guy Mac that owns the place is still there, I will never go there. I went there years ago and Mac was so rude and awful to me, he treated me like dirt. I was with my kid and it really made me mad. They were supposed to service Giant bikes and he asked me if I bought it there and I said no and he was very rude and finally he proceeded to roll it in the back and it sounded like he slammed it against some shelves, even the bike mechanic cringed. It was my fourth or fifth time going there and Mac was always very rude and arrogant (he is tall and thin with blond hair). It was about six years ago and I have never been back. I have bought four bikes from Wamsleys cycles since then and had countless repairs and adjustments at Wamsleys so the heck with arrogant Pathfinder. read more
