I have been a patient at Pathway Healthcare for many years. Initially, I came to their office trying to find a way to get my weight under control. Through the years, I have been treated by both Nurse Practitioner Mark Stoner. and Nurse Practitioner, Dayna Iverson. My experience with both has been exceptional. The reason I decided to write this review is much more of an appreciation for the great work done on the part of Mark Stoner. I have been experiencing extreme pain in my back and body for some time. Often, physicians and nurses will fill a Schedule II controlled substance prescription, prior to finding out the root of the patient's pain. However, not at Pathway Healthcare! Instead, they go deeper with their patients, by getting to know them a little better, and working to find a solution to the problem, and not just a quick pain relief, "fix." My story is that instead of rushing to put me on Norco or anything of the sort, I was given Ibuprofen and immediately referred to a local Neurologist. The Neurologist's test results revealed that I needed to be sent to UCSF for even further testing. So, to make an even longer story shorter, I am now going to have surgery at UCSF. After surgery and some physical therapy, I should be good as new! The bottom line is that none of this would be happening had I not been under the careful watch of Pathway Healthcare in Oakdale, California. I am forever grateful! read more

I have been seeing Dayna here for a while now and it was the best decision I ever made. She's helped me in so many ways I am greatly appreciative. She also sees my son and he absolutely adores her. She's amazing with kids and adults. Her smile is contagious and her personalty is beautiful. She's super attentive and listens to your needs and responds with solutions/answers. One thing about Yelp, most people leave a review when they are pissed off and want to leave one star. If you voice an issue, it gets resolved. I have been going to Pathway Healthcare for over a year. The staff can be characterized as friendly and professional. Marc is an exceptional help and genuinely cares for the patients in the practice. Yes, they are very busy, but that is the way the medical field is in general. They get to me promptly and get me out of there accordingly at most times depending on what I'm being seen for. If you are in an empty practice during busy hours, you're probably at the wrong place. I know several people that come here and by word of mouth I made them my primary care. I have had several health issues that I have had since a young age. I began my journey here with the staff here and they have all been nothing but helpful. They sent me to the specialists that I have been needing to go to because they care about my health and listen to my concerns. I've called on many occasions where I was having serious issues and they got me in quick. My prescriptions have been filled quickly and always within that same hour! When I call, they get back to be promptly. I am not family, but they sure as heck treat you like you are. Pathway Healthcare is also the name of an addiction clinic - but this review is about a medical clinic in Oakdale, CA - AKA "The cowboy capital of the world." The Oakdale Pathway Healthcare, I believe, is as bad or worse than other reviewers say it is. At first I was fooled thinking they were nice...but I learned from experience there is something deeply wrong with this place. Oh, my God! My "doctor is a nurse?" I thought my doctor was a doctor until I discovered the reason he kept telling me to call him by his first name. That is because he's a nurse - he could not say "Hey! I'm not a doctor." I now believe this clinic is like a money machine for the actual MD who owns it. But I never saw him and don't think he has anything to do with the day to day running of Pathway Healthcare. The idea is this: Baby Boomers (my generation) are now all seniors with chronic health issues from smoking, drinking, eating too much processed food, etc. The healthcare industry is overwhelmed. Not enough MDs and too many sick folks. Real doctors reacted to this crisis as an opportunity to cash in on Medicare $. The result is to open "Health Care clinics" staffed by non-MDs such as nurses and physician assistants (a junior college certificate). The MD owning it enjoys all the profit without having to actually see all those suffering, dying old folks. This, I believe, explains Pathway Healthcare. What can baby boomers do? Nothing. We are simply victims of old age - there are too many of us - and there is no adequate medical system to handles us. People hate change and try to keep doing what they did in the past. The patients keep smoking, drinking, eating processed foods but he medical system keeps hiring any live body with a C average from a junior college to staff these Medicare money harvesting machines. Without follow up care for my acute illness I ended up taking an ambulance to the hospital because my "doctor who is a nurse" had sent me home weeks before without any treatment other than put a bandage on my leg wound. No follow up, no medication, no instructions for wound care, etc. I had to teach myself about this disease by watching many medical videos (Ted Talks, etc. and ), researching on Google. I took photos of my leg ulcer to prepare an essay that I bound in a folder - like a college term paper (I'm trained as a technical writer). This booklet was then sent by UPS to Pathway Healthcare. SILENCE...the result was SILENCE. Finally my local Pharmacist ordered me to take an ambulance to the hospital to see a REAL doctor. They took a CAT scan to check for blood clots and prescribed Plavix. From what happened to me I can say emphatically that Pathway Healthcare SUCKS! Good luck to you. There are no options for seniors because medicine is a for-profit-industry. All you can do is find another one of these "clinics" staffed by junior college kid nurses pretending to be "doctors." Maybe you'll get lucky and find one where the nurse tells you he is not a real MD. I was not lucky. read more

I have been a patient with Pathway Health Care for 13 years. I recently last year or so I started to see provider Dayna (FNP). When the office was open daily I have to admit the wait time could be harsh, but Dayna always takes her time to be thorough in your case and be sure everything is taken care of before you depart the clinic, therefore the wait is completely worth it in the end. Dayna does not rush or jump to conclusions as she is more than dedicated to ensure the correct diagnosis and treatment plan. She makes sure you understand your illness or situation and answers questions that you may have to ensure the best outcome. Dayna has an amazing ability to treat a patients illness not only for the illness but for the whole system and body as a whole. Dayna and her team has gone far and beyond for myself and my family in our time of need including investigating and providing answers to my rare and complex illness. The providers function under the direction of Dr. Michael Shorr MD. The providers are licensed Family Nurse Practitioners who have completed various years of courses/Classes to get where they are just as Medical Doctors do. FNP's are just as good and are more detail oriented in your case verses MD. Lastly as a Medical Professional, I hands down refer friends, Family, and co-workers to see Dayna for their healthcare needs. Keep it up pathway! read more

Today I visited for the first time Pathway Healthcare. The place was busy! Patients coming and going. I did have to wait awhile before being seen but then I was lead into the room to have my blood drawn and the phlebotomist Jennifer was so professional and polite to me. She made me feel very comfortable then after my blood draw I was to wait in another room until there was an examination room for me to see the Doctor. Another employee name Elizabeth came up to me and asked me if I wanted some water which I really appreciated. She was also very nice and said she was sorry for the wait. It wasn't much longer after I was in the examination room that Marc Stoner came in. He introduced himself and immediately shaking my hand he listen to my health issues and never interrupted me. He did explain fully the procedure that he was going to do on me and made me feel at ease. All I can say is that the employees that I met today made me feel at ease and were very professional. I've been going to pathway for the last few years. I have seen Marc Stoner who was very friendly but wasn't the person for me. I started seeing Dana Iverson shortly after meeting Marc. She is truly a blessing. Not only does she actually listen to the patient but she takes her time to understand what's going on. I know the wait time can be long but I prefer to go to someone who cares about their patients. She's a rare one. I highly recommend her for all your physics needs. read more

Never in my life have I experienced a doctor's office this bad. They are not organized, never on time, and make you feel like your time is not valuable. If you have labs, X-rays, or anything outside the office, they do not follow up with you. It is your responsibility to call them, and then on top of that, they require you to make an appointment again. If your appointment is at 10:30 in the office or over the phone, expect to wait, and when I say wait, I mean three-plus hours of waiting. To top it off, a doctor should know diabetics and prednisone don't go well together, and it will cause a spike in blood sugar levels. If a doctor gives a diabetic person prednisone, they should monitor their blood levels and inform them to monitor their levels more often and advise them of the concern. Instead, this office prescribed prednisone without thinking about this patient being a person with diabetes, and three days later, they were in the hospital. Never in my life have I ever had this bad of service in a doctor's office. It is a dread of dreads going. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Mark for two years and I trust him emphatically with my health and wellness. When I first became his patient I was unable to walk without a walker and other doctors I had been to weren't paying attention except to put me on pain management, Dr. Mark took the time to listen to the history that had caused the issue and worked with me and closely with specialists to help me. Now I am able to walk without the help of a walker and am not having to take any highly controlled pain medications. Now I even take my son to Dr. Mark. Amazing doctor and friendly staff. read more

We moved to Oakdale and needed to get quick vaccinations for our son. This place was mentioned by a local, so I thought I would give it a try. 1. The "curb appeal' is old, dirty and outdated. 2. The receptionist was friendly, but overall, the staff behind the window seemed unorganized and slightly stressed (I got the feeling that NO one knew what was going on). 3. Once we were called back for our appointment, the patient area (where they measured your blood pressure, weight, ect.) was cluttered and slightly clostrophobic. The nurses actually bickered in front of me and my son, arguning on what he needed and if there was a room ready for us. Apparently there was NOT a room ready, so we waited in the 'akward' area for our room. 4. Once we were taken to our room three different nurses came in handing me different shot records and asking me questions. Not one knew what the other one was doing. I watched one nurse come in and rip a paper out of the other nurses hand. UNPROFESSIONAL. I felt uncomfortable, ready to walk out. 5.After a few minutes of waiting and shuffling of paperwork, another nurse came in and said, "could you please go to the front and pay, they want you to play now!" WHAT? I've always paid at the end of my visits, and have NEVER been asked to leave the patient room to go pay? 6. I then stood in the akward cramped hallway waiting to pay the $60.00 I owed them. She took my money and I went back to the room (unsure if that was where I was supposed to go... as there was no one around to direct me.) 7.Got back to the room and waited for a while. Eventually whom I assumed was the doctor came in to examine my son. He literally spent 2 minutes, asked me no questions, then left informing me those dreadful nurses would be back with the vaccinations. 8.They soon where there, and instructed me I had to hold me son. She was so quick, hardly explained anything. She was rough and not sympathetic to my son who was screaming in pain. 9. Once we were done we were shuffled out the door. I WILL NEVER RECOMMED THIS PLACE. read more

I have never been so upset with a medical office before if I could have left a zero star I would. I have been struggling to transfer my insurance to Stanislaus county for three months and finally was able to be seen for medical care in March but there were no available appointments until April so I scheduled my appointment a month out. I had to leave work early and miss out on pay to be able to be seen by a doctor for a medical referral to a specialist that I have badly needed. When I arrive at the office I'm informed that I can not be seen without my physical Medi-Cal ID card. I was very upset and frustrated because I was not told about this when I called last month. I had not received my ID cards yet and was very upset to have waisted my time and money, so I stormed out. I went out of my way to immediately go to the Medi-Cal office next door and get a temporary Medi-Cal ID card to be seen. When I had called back to see about possibly being seen I was informed that the temporary was not good enough because the medical number would be different in 30 days and would have to be changed in the system and that I still could not be seen. When I asked about rescheduling options the manager of the office informed me that she would not reschedule my appointment due to my "behavior". Being denied medical treatment for being upset about lost time and money is ridiculous. She acted as if my behavior was completely irrational which it wasn't and had the audacity to tell me that I had been informed of the medical card policy because "she trains all of the girls at the desk." I will never refer anyone here or ever return to this terrible receptionist staff. read more

This place is absolutely ridiculous!!! They're a freaking joke!! Yes I'm overweight and was wanting help. I have 2 friends that have been here and successful at their weight loss so I wanted to try it out. Well, my 1st appt I received the vit b12 shot and the girl didn't even swab my arm with rubbing alcohol. Then the NP told me that wt loss is based solely on diet and you don't have to work out!!! Are you serious?!? I'm not dumb dude. My 2nd appt he put my friend and me in the same exam rm and barely listened to our lungs and heart. And now my 3rd and LAST appt he was 30 min late and was barely in the rm for 30sec!!!! Do not waste your time or money on this place. They don't know what they're doing, very unprofessional and very dirty! I wouldn't even give Em 1 star but it wouldn't let me!!! read more

I have been a patient for years at Pathways. In the last year appointments have started taking hours for slightly more that 10 minutes with Marc Stoner. I am usually ok to wait and finally started scheduling to be there for at least an hour after my scheduled appointment time to just be called back. After being put in the room I am all but guaranteed to wait for another 30 to an hour then. Right around the second hour marker I would poke my head out and ask how much longer. I love the girls that work in the back. I feel like I am able to communicate with them on a very efficient level. They not only take a moment to look at my face they also remember my name, and my children's names. I usually feel like when I have seen Mark Stoner I leave understanding a little more about any issues my kids may be experiencing and I feel well informed. The problem I have with their office is the absolute lack of care and rude front office. When I do have to call for an appointment I can expect to sit on hold for at least 10 minutes before a brief thank you for holding we will be right with you. And then it is hold again. I understand that it is a busy office that is constantly behind. One would hope that they would take that into consideration and hire more help. I also have had the great displeasure of dealing with their Office Manager who was by far the most unprofessional and rude of the bunch. I can only conclude that the front office bad behavior and over all lack in courtesy is a learned behavior from their manager. His name is Richard I believe. When I spoke with Richard first he hung up on me calling me belligerent. I would not say I was belligerent but after having been put on hold for close to 20 minutes I am pretty frustrated. Then when while I was in the middle of a sentence he raised his voice over mine and told me to stop talking. Then he hung up on me. When I called back he then informed me that I can go some place else. Literally told me that if I didn't like it I can go somewhere else. Does that sound like an office manager who values their patients? I am an office manager, and I actually cringe at that comment. I have a 2 year old that has more ear infections that I ever have had and I have myself that has been waiting for a referral for a time sensitive procedure. It literally took them 7 days to get that and I had to call them and ask them about it. When they returned my call the information that I got is "you should hear from them anytime." So in short I am going to be leaving as Richard so kindly suggested. I will be looking for another Dr for my 2 children and myself. They have already lost my mother and sisters family. I can not tell you how disappointed I am that I am leaving the only Dr my children have known all because their front office staff does their job so poorly. I offer something simple to think about. Perhaps if the people in the front were not half as rude it wouldn't upset people so badly to have to wait for 2 hours. read more
