My workplace held an e-health event yesterday. Last year, it consisted of getting your flu shot and biometrics. You could opt in to either or both.
This year, both these services were available. As a trial for the company, it recruited Pathway to Bliss to provide chair massages for employees. I had never had a chair massage, so I signed up for the first slot of the day.
Each appointment time had three slots. The idea was to have a massage chair in three different rooms with three different certified massage professionals.
My appointment was at 10 am. I got Rose as my massage professional. She was awesome massaging me for fifteen minutes.
The massage chair is more comfortable than the description that I'm about to provide. The chair is kind of like sitting on a bicycle, except that the seat is wide and comfortable. You basically bend your legs such that you are kind of kneeling on the most comfortable platform on either side of the seat. You lean forward and your face rests on a donut-shaped support with paper between you and it to keep things sanitary.
Rose asked me if I had any target areas that I'd like her to focus on. I woke up with some stiffness on the left side of my neck. Perhaps I slept funny. She managed to relax this part of my neck and make the stiffness go away. It was amazing.
This massage was excellent. She asked whether the pressure was okay. It was. She applied more of it, which was great and needed. She massaged my neck, shoulders, back, hips, arms, and more.
It's funny that you think that you're fine. When you get a massage like this one, you realize how tight your muscles are, and how a massage helps you unwind and relax.
I felt relaxed and lethargic after it was over. I didn't want to go back to work. I wanted to be a vegetable and ride out this relaxed, content mode.
My friend and our manager also signed up for chair massages. They got my account after I had mine. Our manager had his appointment an hour later. My friend got his in the afternoon.
Verdict? They felt the same way. Relaxed and lethargic. We all felt good.
I do hope that my workplace goes into a long-term agreement with Pathway to Bliss. This massage made me feel great. I would like a chair massage every time I'm in the office... haha!
This company does corporate events, spa events, birthdays, and more. Sadly, you can't book an appointment to see a specific massage professional. If we could, I'd recommend Rose. She had good hands and is wonderful.
There was relaxing music while I was being massaged. It was a nice touch.
I am still relaxed and happy after this chair massage. I highly recommend getting one, especially from Pathway to Bliss.
