Quite an experience for my first time. I also opted for an RMT session as it seemed reasonably priced. This was a mistake. The same woman who did my reflexology also did the RMT service. I was surprised when she walked into the second room. I asked her "you're the RMT?" and she just stared at me due to a language barrier. I just kind of shrugged and thought to myself "how bad could it be?". Turns out, very bad. It was a very rough massage with no particular skill applied to it. I was vocal every time it hurt by saying "OW", so thankfully she understood that word. There were parts that felt nice and others that were straight up painful. Yes, RMT sessions are painful sometimes. But skillfully/strategically painful. This massage was more just consistent friction, up and down motions and poking. I swear, once she headed for my scalp I was relieved because how badly can you mess that up... honestly, I thought she was trying to manually labotomize me. Crack me open like a coconut. This woman was not an RMT. As I paid, I noticed the photocopied RMT certificate on the wall. The name on the wall did not match the woman I had. The provided RMT receipt had the same wall name and was pre-signed by this unknown person in a different colour pen. All kinds of sketchy. I refuse to even send that to my insurance company and I will eat the cost due to my own sheer stupidity. A few days later I spent the money (a lot more actually) all over again and had an additional emergency session with a real RMT. He was shocked at the state I was in and why. Lesson learned = you get what you pay for, if it seems to good to be true, it is, etc...

I told them I like it very strong and it was one of the few times that I actually had to ask him to be a little more gentle. He really put in a lot of effort in my massage and made sure I was comfortable. They have a variety of massage combos for cheap (ex. facial + massage, foot + body, foot + back, etc). As well contrary to a previous review they did not ask for a tip and when I did tip them they were very gracious. If you want a no-frills dirt cheap yet high quality massage then look no further. More rich content visuals adorn the front of this place and the lobby is well lit with an oriental-looking backdrop of bamboo to give it a friendly organic look. There's also a giant "465" above the door so you know where you are, and I like this over-communication so there's no mistakes. Upon entering I was instantly greeted by a friendly person and when I asked about shiatsu massage she instantly said 60 minutes and I nodded, ok! At this point I have to admit that I'm getting a little confused about which one is which as they are all starting to look very similar. To add to the confusion, some of the staff move around so if you find someone you would like to use again, you need to ask for their card and contact. They sometimes work at one spa, and then move to a different one in the area so you need to ask for their availably and not assume anything. As well, their business cards may be from another spa, and not the one you were in. And since their technique and training vary widely, it helps to know what you're in for. The reflexology was done in the massage room, which wasn't quite as good since she skipped the soaking in hot water part, which is good in that there's more time for massage, but bad in that the soaking seems to help relax your feet and feels great! The pace was much faster than I'm used to and it seemed that I almost got the usual 90 minutes worth in 45. Of course it's not the same, but quite impressive amount of work over the 45 minutes with no downtime or inefficiency. The room was small, clean and quiet, although I went in the evening when it wasn't busy. There was soft Chinese folk guitar twanging playing quietly in the room and the lighting was nice. The white disposable sheet on the table was great. I met two ladies when I went in, and it seemed like they were the only ones there. One was better at English. The one that massaged spoke only Chinese with rudimentary "ok" in English which was fine and I appreciated not wanting to talk. She ended up using the hot towels on my back which felt heavenly. I tipped $20 since that was all I had on my, but felt worth it compared to the usual $156 bill at the clinic with no tip. I'll be back and felt fantastic on the walk home and the next day.
