We went on a Monday, which features a weekly jazz jam and 20% off food and drink for students 7-10pm. We'd misread and booked for 6pm, so we were the first to arrive. We got seated at a table almost directly in front of the stage in the long, rectangular back room down the half stairs from the front bar. We took our time perusing the food and drink menus and decided on a pizza and a cocktail each. I chose the 'Chilli Holiday: Tomato, Anchovies, Capers, Olives, Chilli, Fresh Garlic, Basil (no cheese!)', £17.5 for the larger size. My partner got the 'Spuddy Guy: Mozzarella, Camembert Cheese, Caramelised Onions, Potatoes, Garlic, Oil, Salsa Tartafata', also £17.5 for a large. Each was tasty but nothing special. The size was big enough that I took two slices home, and -20% made prices reasonable. For drinks, I got the 'Don't Eat the Yellow Snow: Mi Campo Tequila Blanco, Siete Misterios Mezcal, Ginger Syrup, Passion Fruit Puree, Soda Water', £13.5. For a drink with that name and passion fruit puree in the ingredients list, it was surprisingly clear and flavourless. So much so that I went to the bar to check if they'd forgotten the passion fruit. I was chillingly assured the drink did contain passion fruit and grudgingly asked if I wanted some more added, to which I said yes. The drink immediately took on some cloudy yellow colour and a bit more taste. I wouldn't order that again. My partner had the 'Moonchild: Rittenhouse 100 Proof Rye, Romate Amontillado Sherry, Pineapple Juice, Lemon Juice, Soda Water', £14. We could barely taste the sherry though the drink had a pleasant pineapple taste. Altogether though, we found the cocktails quite disappointing. We didn't want to order another round so we took off around 8:30pm. Despite the drink dissatisfaction, the jazz jam was fun. The core group began with a set, took a break, and then invited audience members up to play. Quite a few people seemed to have come expressly for that purpose, and it was nice to see the eager participation of various attendees. I would like to go back for another jam. My strategy next time would be to just have a glass of wine (£5.9 for a small house red to 13.5 for fizz), and to try a small pizza (£10.5-15.5) instead of a big one (£13.5-19.5). I'd book for 7 to arrive when the jazz is kicking off, and stick around longer to see how the jam evolves as the night goes on.

The ambience, my dear friends, is positively electric! This charged atmosphere comes in part because Two More Years boasts a plethora of outlets. There's also free WiFi, making it a haven for digital nomads and remote workers alike. Oh, the joy of never having to fret over a dwindling battery or a spotty internet connection! Now, let me wax lyrical about the pièce de résistance - the unlimited coffee deal for a mere £6.5! Yes, you heard that right, unlimited! I find myself giddy with excitement at the prospect of indulging in endless cups of liquid motivation as I tackle my mountain of tasks. Yes yes, come one, come all, Two More Years has earned its rightful place in my pantheon of coworking spaces. With its unbeatable coffee deal, ample amenities, and vibrant atmosphere, it's a veritable paradise for those in pursuit of productivity and caffeine-fueled creativity. My only regrets are that the all-gender restroom is often locked, forcing binary bladder unburdening after all that coffee, and that there aren't often vegan pastries in the morning to match those cups of liquid magic. Loading was rammed so Tareq, knowing the area better than I, said we should go to this place he knew where they brewed their own drinks. I was totally up for that. So off we went to 40FT Brewery. What first struck me about this place was the packets of hops casually lying at the entrance. Pretty hardcore! What next struck me was how nice everyone was. The staff genuinely wanted to talk to us and let us bend their ear with drunkenly rambling about what a good time we'd had at the gameshow event. They were super accommodating about letting us try their beers too, and even gave us a few freebies! We tried the 'Larger' (an interesting new take on lager), some dark drink I can't remember the name of (it was nice though!) and, ofcourse, 40FT Brewery's signature tinned Pale Ale. The team took us on a tour of the brewery, and explained the whole brewing process to us. It was very interesting, although probably not something I'll be trying soon. I think I'll leave it to the experts! Lovely place, lovely people, lovely brew! I rarely go to Dalston to be honest but if I do find myself there again I will make it my mission to return!

They had a dj playing and everyone seemed to be having a good time. We were seated in a nice area with comfy couches. The drink menu was-- a lot. Maybe 100 different kinds of drinks (all fancy :) ) to choose from. Thankfully, the menu was actually quite detailed and provided guidance on each drinks sweetness and strength. (I like sweet fancy drinks that are not too strong.) Great time at the Dirty Martini! Since I love a fancy drink, this place was a hit for me. Great for cocktails and conversations!

The seating area we were placed at was quite dark and not alot of light.. i had to actually hold up the menu to the light from outside.. The place plays good music but unfortunately not alot of space to dance. I went for my friend's birthday and we were dancing alot but not alot of space to move and also NO AIR-CON! We had to fan ourselves with the menus which wasnt good and the music should have been turned up alot louder as we couldnt hear alot of the music coming out of the speakers. But yes i would go back but only for happy hour!

This is absoulutely favourite restaurant at the moment…read more It is a tiny little restuarant that is very easy to miss, as the roadside signage is both understated and unlit. It holds seating for around 25 people, is wheelchair accessible, and does easilly the best Chinese food I've had in ages. For me, the highlights of the menu are: Chicken Peking style - which is a chopped battered chicken breast fillet in the lightest, crispiest batter you can imagine, drizzled with a fresh garlic, spring onion and soy dressing... Sounds a bit doughy? Not at all.. it somehow keeps fresh and crispy througout the meal. The Chinese dumplings are fabulous (always a benchmark for me - as they're so easy to get wrong) - but the smart money for me goes to have the Wonton soup instead, as the starter has 4 dumplings, whereas the soup has 3 of the same.. and the soup, and is cheaper. Instead, either the chicken sate, or the Chefs special kebabs (with a delightfully spicy chilli sauce) are absolute winners. (and very large portions too) Any noodle dish is amazing, as is all the seafood.. I've now had prawn, squid and scallops, and all are of absolute freshness, and are cooked to perfection. On the first time I went to this restaurant, which to be honest is quite sparcely decorated and lit.. I was greeted by only one other table being used. The occupants said that they'd seen my party pass by, and then come back, and 'we'd chosen a good-un' here. They then proceeded to offer us tastes of their dishes before we ordered to prove,.. (one of which was the Peking chicken) I'm a very fussy eater, and wouldn't normally dream of accepting, but I did on this occasion, as they genuinely seemed proud of the restaurant,.. The tastes guaranteed that we'd have that on our first order, and the rest is history. Such enthusiasm from clientelle just speaks volumes IMHO. Wonderful service, great food. I seriously have nothing but praise for this place. I've taken 6 of my friends here on several occasions, and everyone agreed on the quality of everything.. One friend (who, incidentally I've just been back there with) literally could not wait to go back there this evening... The restaurant proudly displays paper clippings on the walls in the dining area and the outer widows proclaiming that they recently won the accolade of the best Chinese food in Bromley. (no mean feat as Xian was also in their catagory!) - While Xian is unboutably good, it also has the dresscode and prices to match.. For me, the unassuming location and friendliness of the staff, yet equally delicious food of Lotus will win out any day. Please go and try it, the chef deserves as much business as he can handle..

Lovely chef pitched outside in a marquee cooking steak ciabattas with mustard mayonnaise and salad. Divine. The steak ciabatta's are only available on Friday mind Lasagne with salad is available for a mere £3.80 so good it was sold out when we got there at 12.45. I resolved to a spinach and ricotta tortellini (one of about 5 options) and I was not disappointed. £4 and served with coleslaw and side salad. Fantastic portions, absolutely tasty. Will be back for sure.
