They used to be my prefered choice over Furrows, despite Furrows being on my doorstep and their garage in Shifnal some distance away. But then I found them out to be dishonest which I proved to them and then heard an embarrassing excuse that to this day still makes my friends laugh. In short, I had it in with them to service and to check oil leak I had with the car. I waited in heir freezing showroom and 2hrs later they say it is serviced and there is an oil leak Which I knew. They were meant to investigate! I timed to have both sorted, as my car is used for driving instructing. They then said it would take a couple of weeks to see my car, despite the leak being severe. I wasn't happy with this but not to worry. I called in at Furrows and they happily had car to clean off oil for me to bring in the next week to see what's happening (currently sitting in their warm show room now writing this lol). When I had my car back I later that day jump started my other car which is struggling with the battery and is only used once a week, so I am often jumping it. I noticed the engine cover was off. I thought it was likely Furrows had it off to clean all oil and would refit when back in. I thought they would of told me they were doing this though, so I thought I would call both garages to find where it is. Although it was likely to be at Furrows I thought I would rule out it wasn't at Patons. I rang them and asked if it was there by any chance and they said they would call back. When they called back to my suprise they said the mechanic thought it was odd that my car came in without an engine cover!? This is impossible as I had been checking / topping oil each night. Had jump started my other car the day before and had 2 pupils on test that did their last minute show me / tell questions (locating oil, coolant etc). They then said they would double check with mechanic and call back. In meantime I rang Furrows who then confirmed they had it :) I had a call back from Patons and he said the mechanic was sure it had no cover (despite me telling them I knew it had one) and he said another mechanic can confirm. To their embarrassment I then said it did have a cover as it was Furrows that took it off later that afternoon. He then asked me 'if I was sure Furrows haven't had it since August 2012' lol! He is obviously not listening that I have been under bonnet more times this year than alot of people are in a lifetime and told him it was a blatant lie. He then tried to laugh it off and said 'such is life' Well I am afraid this is dishonesty! Why lie? It's probably only a £30 plastic cover to replace! I can no longer trust them as it they have any issues I guess their stance would be 'it wasn't / was there when it come in' or 'it was doing that before we had it' etc. Well, I'm here at Furrows now Not my favourite dealership but are now proving alot more professional than Patons. read more
