My wife and I go there mainly for the home baking which is top class, certainly the best I've ever encountered anywhere. Their scones are something of a speciality including mars bar scones amongst an appealing range. They're adventurous and it works. Scone obsessions aside there is great luncheon/dinner menu for anyone who simply likes to walk in off the street sit down and enjoy. They also do a steady trade in lunch time take-outs and little wonder. Again the quality of the food on the menu is exceptional, all freshly prepared in the kitchens and served up at the counter, including a range of luncheon pies and salads. The service is beyond criticism and it really seems to be smile central in a homely sort of way. I met the Corleggy folks today at the Temple Bar market, and oh.... my what nice cheese! When I…read moreapproached their stand, I was trying to take in the various products available, and I was suddenly faced with a gorgeous little sliver of cheese, presented on knife, for me to taste. "How nice!" I thought. It was a strong, aged cheddar that had nice, rich, lingering taste. I appreciated the introduction, but I'd already decided to pick up the €5 sampler packet. As I was asking about payment, I was presented with another sample - and another! Not just perfect, tasty little introductions to their cheeses, mind you, but also a description of each. I was absolutely wooed, and in the end, in addition to the sampler package, I also bought a full-sized sheep cheese to share with colleagues this week, and a jewel-like little version of their sherry jelly. I hope to learn more and post more about where you can find Corleggy Cheeses, etc., but for now, all I can say is that I'm already a fan.
