How have I not written a review yet?! I LOVE Pats! I used to drive up to Lake Mary to ABC, so I was extremely excited for Sanford to get a clean, friendly liquor store. With a HUGE selection I must add, tons of products I've never seen elsewhere. Always friendly staff, the owner is there often and extremely helpful. And, best if of all - they have a drive thru for those rainy Florida days!

    Pretty nice beers

I love and hate this store. I love that they've got a (theoretically) great beer selection AND a massive walk-in cooler (if only every beer store was as dedicated to the cold as this one!). In fact, I've seen some bottles here that not even ABC or Total Wine carry. That being said, I think the store would be better considered a beer museum. Seems like 95% of the stock is ANCIENT. I've never seen so many old, dusty bottles in one place (well, maybe at Kenny's). It's clear that most of their beer sales are coming from fizzy yellow macros, malt liquors and FMBs (which is normal for most liquor stores). But if you're going to have this big of a craft beer selection, you can't be having IPAs that went out of code during the Bush administration on your shelf at full price (or at all, for that matter). I saw a six-pack of Cooper's Australian Sparkling Ale that was bottled in 2007 and was riddled with mold! WTF!? Prices seem higher than what you'd pay at ABC or Total Wine for common stuff. Sure, they've got a lot of high ABV, rare releases like Founders CBS, Funky Buddha's wacky releases, and pretty much everything from The Bruery. BUT, since the stuff is so old there's no way those prices can be justified. Technically, they do let you mix-a-six, which is nice, but they don't have any six-pack carriers like at ABC or TW. So if you want some 12oz singles you'll have to grab a sixer off one of the shelves and use it. But then again, most of the 12oz bottles are ancient, so good luck trying to find six fresh bottles and/or cans to fill that sixer. What makes it worse is that they don't give you a discount on the mix-a-six either (this is standard operating procedure at almost every bottle shop - why not here?). PAT, if you're reading this - please contact me! I'm a professional craft beer consultant. It's my job to make stores like yours realize their potential.

I'm inside a cooler right now

It's just so much more convenient for me to stop here after leaving the DG versus fighting the traffic mess further North on 17-92. The staff here can be hit or miss with the friendliness, and all of the liquor is behind a counter, so staff just kind of sits there waiting for you to make a decision, so no pressure with making your choice while you're starred at. This store was just recently renovated, so it does look a lot nicer inside compared to a year ago, but the outside still looks ghetto. They don't provide any specials or samples like they do at the other store. This store does offer the to-go frozen drinks like the other store, which is a bonus and pricing is competitive to other liquor stores in the area. All-in-all, I recommend this store for convenience, but if you are willing to drive a bit further down the road you might have a more fun and engaging experience at their other location.

My wife and I frequent both locations weekly. The store is within walking distance of our home so it is a quick easy spot to grab a snack, drink or cigar for that fun night out on the town. I would say that Kevin's prices are fair market value when compared to other convenience stores in the area. There have been occasions where I have been able to get a bottle of Jim Beam or Makers Mark at a better price than ABC or Walgreens. On a side note, if you love Bud Light Platinum this may be the only place you can find it in a 12 pack or more. I am not sure why 12 packs of Platinum are so rare but if you need it Kevin's almost always has it. The parking lot can be quite active so be prepared to navigate around other people who cannot park, drive in general or just don't know how-to walk-in public. This is part of the reason we like to walk here but I guess that's how it is when your business is located at the intersection of French Ave. and 20th street in Sanford. The staff here are always helpful and friendly. The guy who is usually working in the liquor store is awesome at helping you find what you need at the best price. I feel is a great way to keep customers coming back. If you are visiting Sanford for a fun day/night out, stop in to Kevin's before heading downtown. There is something for everyone here, you might just save some Moolah and enhance your overall experience visiting Sanford.

The staff refused to accept any responsibility for selling a faulty product and instead became defensive and rude. When I contacted the owner directly to discuss the issue, his response was even worse--he was not only dismissive but also outright rude and ignorant, showing no interest in resolving the situation. It's alarming that a business would treat customers so poorly, especially when they're the ones at fault. The lack of care or concern for customer satisfaction is beyond unacceptable. The experience left me feeling disrespected, and it was clear to me that this business has no genuine interest in maintaining good relationships with its customers. I am also deeply concerned by the way they seem to treat certain customers differently. It's troubling to feel that the business does not care for all people, and I cannot overlook the blatant disregard for fairness and respect. What made this even worse is that, despite having a legitimate issue, EZ Liquor refused to take any action to rectify the situation. Instead of offering a solution or even a simple apology, I was met with more defensiveness and rude comments. Their customer service is non-existent, and it's clear they are more interested in taking people's money than providing quality products or services. Given my terrible experience, I also checked their BBB rating, which seems to reflect a pattern of unsatisfactory service and unresolved complaints. It's evident that they don't prioritize accountability or addressing issues with their customers. I'm extremely disappointed by how this situation was handled and will not be returning to this store. I strongly recommend that anyone considering EZ Liquor be aware of the potential risks--poor quality products, horrible customer service, and an overall lack of professionalism. This is not a business that values its customers, and I urge others to take their business elsewhere. My experience was a clear reflection of how little they care about providing a positive and respectful customer experience.
