I've been to this place a few times now over the past couple weeks since I found out about it each time I've gotten the banana pudding ice cream. It's delicious. I like that. It has marshmallows in it and cheesecake puts spin on banana pudding that you just absolutely love. The staff is super friendly. Service is always quick. I think the longest I waited was eight minutes. They have a walk up window and a drive-through. The wife and I stopped in on a Thursday afternoon and decided on the Andy's Turtle Split ($7.59) we also asked the staff member to provide a waffle cone so we could have something crunchy with our dessert. Our order was ready fast and the employee was very friendly. The dessert was delicious and was enough for two. The only issue is that the custard melts fast, by the time we got back to the car it was like eating ice cream soup. Regardless it was very good and hit the spot on a hot summer day. We love having Andy's custard as an after-dinner treat while dining in Sanford. It's so hard to choose between their seasonal flavors and traditional options. That just means you have to keep on coming! The drive through is always busy, but I like to order at the window and eat at the benches. I feel like it's a little dangerous getting to the window and crossing over the drive through lane. If you have small kids, it may be best to hit the drive through and take your treats home so you don't have to worry about them darting into the parking lot. We come here at least once a month and enjoy all of the flavors Andy's has to offer, and there are so many ways to customize the menu items, which makes it all the more wonderful. Plus they have limited time flavors regularly, so there's always something new and different to try! Also, if you're not much of an eating-custard-on-it's-own kind of person, they have floats as well. I usually LOVE Andy's and their frozen custard never misses, but wow... the manager on shift totally ruined the vibe tonight. Came in craving something sweet, left with dessert and an attitude I didn't order. The staff seemed kind of nervous. It was like I was inconveniencing him by existing. Look, I get it. We all have bad days. But if you're running the place, maybe try not to talk to people like they're gum on your shoe? Especially when folks are literally paying for a treat and a good experience. This is such an awesome and popular place that I wanted to come here for the first time yesterday. It was a hot day and felt that my family and I could enjoy some fresh ice cream outdoors. Around 6pm, it does get pretty busy so both the drive thru and walk up line had a line. The menu is packed with a variety of items like custards, shakes, malts, etc. I ordered the James brownie jackhammer as well as a build your own concrete. Both were made within a few minutes. I did notice some ants by the window which should be addressed since it is so close to the food service area. Both ice creams were soft and flavorful. I feel that the filling could have been filled up more as well as more brownies should be added. Also they should add some tables next to the benches so people can sit and have a place to put down the ice cream. Overall we enjoyed the ice cream as it felt good on a hot sunny day. read more

My gf and I went to Andy's last night (3-19-25) because I had a craving for a chocolate shake. We got there a bit later than I would've liked to but there were still a bunch of people there. I got my chocolate shake and my gf got her root beer float/shake (can't remember exactly) and it was exactly what I wanted and it hit the spot. They even gave my dog a little pup cup! The staff were very friendly, courteous and polite. I tried the nutty waffle crunch, snowmonster, and a custom concrete with brownies (used the free concrete with 1 topping after your first visit on the app) to get this. The custard itself is very good, and I do want to try the chocolate at some point but I like the vanilla too much. Of the 3, the nutty waffle crunch was my favorite and the texture worked so well together between the fresh waffle chips and nuts. The brownies had a slight chemical aftertaste but besides that liked the others as well. The app was a little confusing to use but the cashier was so helpful and kind. Really great service. A very convenient drive-thru, especially during the Florida summer heat! Stopped by here after work because my boyfriend and I have been craving something sweet. Of course the ice cream machine was down at McDonalds -- so we needed something close by and drive thru. Found Andy's on Yelp! It was an easy to find location and there were only a couple of cars ahead of us. You order at the window. We ordered two medium vanilla soft serve with brownies. We were not aware that they mix the brownies inside the ice cream which was nice. Our server was very friendly and made our orders quick. The only thing I would complain about is how soft the custard was. I wish it was a little bit frozen because by the time she handed us our custards, it was almost soupy on the top. I've driven by this place a few times and always loved the old school look. This week I finally stopped and tried it. I wanted to start with something basic so I got a small concrete (basically a blizzard) with Reese's cups and strawberries. It was pretty good. At other soft serve places, like DQ and Twistee treat, this item is approximately $4.00. Here, it was around $7.50. I'm not sure what justifies the 88% price increase. Maybe frozen custard, which this place sells, is 88% more expensive to make than ice cream? If that's the case, it wasn't an 88% improvement in taste so they ought to switch to ice cream. Despite the odd pricing, there was still a nice crowd on hand and many families dropping $50+ on their frozen custard bills.
