He showed us a dozen or so houses, even taking time to do so on the weekends, or whenever was convenient for us. There were a few times that we had limited time to see a house before they would stop taking offers, so Tim would even drive out to meet us on short notice. We were working with Tim at the start of the pandemic, so he even thought to bring masks and gloves for us during the open houses before that became standard practice. Kaillie was great too-- she kept us on track for all the paperwork and deadlines. I loved that she kept reminding us when it became urgent that we sign something, remit payment, secure insurance, do a rekey, etc. Beyond helping us find a home, Tim and Kaillie also made arrangements for us to close on the house remotely (we were in Florida when we closed on a house in Austin) by sending someone out to us to get the contract notarized. They also helped arrange an inspector and gave us referrals for a contractor and an interior designer. Alyssa Rome was the interior designer, by the way. She offers a walk-through special where you can ask for suggestions all throughout the house during a minimum hour-long session. When we were unsure about an offer, she was able to help us negotiate and gave us a lot of educated options. Caroline was more than I could have hoped for!…read more I was a first-time home buyer with absolutely no experience in real estate, but I knew what I wanted and was eager to learn. I got introduced to Caroline through a friend who bought through her and highly recommended working with her. From the very first meeting she was knowledgable, professional, and always went the extra mile to make me feel confident about all the moving pieces in play. The property I ended up buying was a new construction condo, which means there are lots of parties involved: the seller, the construction company, the title company, the lender, the city's inspection board, civil engineers, and more. Organizing all these parties and keeping them up to date would have been an absolute nightmare without Caroline's help. Perhaps the most valuable part about working with her was when things got dicey. Construction delays and uppity city inspectors caused stressful communications between everybody and more than once I was promised something by the seller that wasn't delivered. Caroline was the one who whipped them into shape. Having her there was like having private security at SXSW in the most crowded part of town. She expressed all my concerns clearly, demanded people uphold their part fairly, and followed up with everyone. I then asked about at 8:30am the next day and he said that he wouldn't get up at that time either and that he lives too far to be driving that early. If I wanted to meet with him, verbatim, he said I'd have to call him at 9am to wake him up to go. I'm sorry sir, your job is to sell/rent homes. That involves you being open to meeting clients in said homes, and you are unwilling if that means you're going to wake up early or sit in traffic for a while? Not to mention insult me throughout the entire phone call for asking about renting with roommates without any knowledge of anything.
