We walked into Pattes & Griffes because Mom wanted to "just have a look."
I have heard these words before. They mean we are not leaving anytime soon.
This store is BIG, with rows and rows of toys, treats and supplies, but Mom immediately discovered the enormous wall of collars, leashes and harnesses.
This was dangerous. There were tons of colors and styles to choose from, and somehow "looking" quickly turned into Mom selecting a new collar AND matching leash for me.
Then she discovered the clothing. Things escalated.
The store had a smaller selection of winter wear, including sweaters and jackets. Since they don't allow returns on the clothing, the staff very kindly let me try everything on to make sure it fit. So naturally, I held a fashion show.
The cranberry cable-knit sweater? Very autumn in Montreal. Very sophisticated.
The snow jacket? I don't fully understand why anyone voluntarily goes somewhere requiring a snow jacket, but Mom seemed pleased.
The staff was wonderful throughout our visit. They immediately came over to say hello, gave me treats and helped Mom while I modeled my potential new wardrobe. I even met another customer at the counter and conducted a brief nose-to-nose consultation.
By the time we left, Mom had purchased a new collar, matching leash, cranberry sweater AND snow jacket. Reminder: we came in to "just have a look."
Dogba's verdict: 5 paws out of 5.
Selection: impressive
Fitting-room privileges: appreciated
Complimentary treats: excellent
Staff attention to Dogba: appropriately enthusiastic
New wardrobe acquired: excessive but stylish
Mom's self-control: not found
Would return. Although for the sake of the family finances, Dad may want to supervise Mom next time. read more
