Store in front, grooming in the back. Hamid is an obvious dog lover and is a groomer who does a fabulous job of all aspects of dog grooming. He handled my very nervous but very gentle Buster perfectly and had him looking and smelling the best he's ever been. What's even better - he offers a loyalty card: after 5 groomings, the 6th one is free. You really need to check out this new small business in NDG, I think it's really awesome.

Never board your dog at Les Anges Gardiennes. They stopped having someone stay with the animals…read moreovernight over a year ago, but didn't tell customers. They just pretend nothing changed. They put the dogs in cages, stacked floor to ceiling, in a tiny room with signs banning entry, so owners don't know how badly their animals are being treated. From the time the daycare closes at 7:00pm until after 7:00am the next morning there is no one there, and the dogs are stuck in little cages for 12+ hours. There is just a camera in the room and who knows if they monitor that. They make a show of putting some cats roaming freely in an office off reception, but they won't show you where they actually stick the dogs who are boarding there: in tiny cages that are off-limits and behind closed doors. I saw the disgusting room because a lovely person in reception told me to avoid boarding there, and showed me the room even though they could have been fired. The people who work in the daycare are fabulous, but the woman who runs the place, Vanessa, is super sweet to your face and takes your money, and then shoves your dog, alone and scared, in a small room and lies to you about someone being there. Oh, also, Vanessa steals tips. The people who work there are so lovely (and you should tip them!!!) but NEVER let Vanessa see you do it, she'll take it for herself, because "they owe her." NEVER GO HERE FOR ANYTHING.

We arrived at 11 and called the reception and was told to wait outside while they are opening a file for one of our dogs. We were at the door when we were asked to step aside because a customer (which is white - I'm mentioning the race since it's relevant to this review) arrived and needed to pick up medicine which is fine that she gets to be served before us since she was only picking up medication. We ended up waiting for an hour outside so we called again and we were told that we were late (the lady never mention that they will not see us anymore and made us wait outside for few more minutes) and then something distasteful happened, a white couple arrived in their fancy car and they did not only get to be served first, the employee actually went outside to assist them ( a courtesy that they didn't give us) and bring the couple's dog inside first. I would have tolerated it if it was only me waiting but we had our two dogs with us and they were getting overheated waiting outside. This place is utterly repugnant. It treated us like a second class citizen so If you are a person of colour avoid this place at all cost for the sake of both your dignity and your pets' well-being but if you are white by all means go to this place because you will be treated like a royal and they will cater to your every whims.

They have a huge window front so I parked across the lot and I watched for a bit from my car. I only stayed for a few minutes because I saw his tail was wagging the entire time and the groomer seemed to be playful with him. When I went back to pick him up, I had to almost drag him out because he just wanted to stay and play with the other dogs. Usually when I go get him from other places he's always in a rush to leave. I highly recommend this place.
