And you should not use barrel racing horses as trail horses. The worst business, unfair practices and lied to me on the phone saying the trail was open to ride. Compare other prices.

Some young riders replicate the behavior to fit in, and perpetuate the toxicity. Women are cat fighting at every corner. it's just awful. I'm a foreigner, and several white women were harassing me and verbally assaulting me on my first day. I felt there was a lot of racism at this facility. The barn owner has no welcoming culture, she tolerates bullying at her facility and greatly participates. She is unjust, and does not take feedback well. Also, the barn owner does not maintain the property at all. She asks you to pay extra for using the arena, but she won't maintain the arena or hire barn workers. Arena gets floaded all year long, the arena is in neglect. It's a pretty bad place for leasing a horse, as they'll ask you to clean stalls for free! It's a neglected place, and there are too many undiagnosed mental illnesses going on there. It's best to spend an extra $100 at another facility that has a better code of conduct and will guarantee you peace of mind. After all, you should always have fun riding!

We were told about this horse ranch from our ranger at the campsite. We were looking for a playground for the kids to play and he mention the park with a horses ranch close by. Read about my review of the park itself under "Covered Bridge Park." Back to the horse farm-- we took a walk thru the covered Bridge(awesome bridge). At the end of the bridge we took a left and ran into this wonderful horse ranch. Open to the public FREE (even better)! While we were there, we discovered that many of these horses were rescued horses--so cool but sad to read the stories of where each horse came from. If you have little ones or if you love horses yourselves.. this is an awesome place to visit.

There's something so healing about being surrounded by open space, fresh air, and the quiet presence of horses. We don't necessarily work directly with them, but just being around them and in such a peaceful environment is unbelievably calming. The owner of the ranch and therapist, Michelle, is truly amazing. I've had a couple of therapists in my life and only ever really connected with one -- and I can honestly say Michelle is now one of those rare people. She has the softest, most soothing voice, and she creates such a safe, welcoming space. She's so easy to talk to, and you can genuinely feel that she cares. She works with anxiety, depression, childhood trauma, all kinds of trauma, and she's even helping me navigate the emotional side of living with chronic pain. That alone has meant so much to me. If you've been thinking about therapy but haven't found the right fit, I 10/10 recommend giving this a try. The picnic grounds can hold anywhere from 25 to 2,500 people for groups and parties. Chuckwagon Barbecue has kid friendly and veggie friendly options, and outside food and catering is also very welcome. Train rides vary from age, children or adult as well as group and individual discounts. Wayback Wednesday in the best way! You can make inquiries on their website as well as stay up to date via mailing list. No lodging available directly on the campgrounds themselves, however several hotels and AirBnBs in the area due to this incredible destination and the Santa Cruz County Redwoods. It's about a 10-minute walk from the parking lot to where the lights begin. My group and I were running late for our time slot, but they were super accommodating and let us go with the group right after ours, which I really appreciated. The whole atmosphere was very easygoing and welcoming. The process is simple: reserve your time online, check in and get stamped, then walk through the experience at your own pace. The entire night walk was whimsical and added a little bit of novelty and magic to life. I'd definitely recommend checking it out if you're in the area!

Our guides gave us all the basics to ride our horse and also provided lots of fun facts on the property. I was there for a bachelorette trip and our guides brought out Luna to take pictures with, which I thought was so sweet. I will definitely be coming back in the future! The trainers here are great. The owner, not so much. Kristi is the most unhelpful person I've ever…read moremet. The round pin? Broken for 2 years. She hasn't fixed that but she has bought herself a $40000 horse who she rode for about 2 months till she stopped riding it, leaving him in his stall for weeks at a time. She has 7 horses all of which are neglected, one has a deformity on its hind leg. She should've been put down years ago but Kristi wanted to keep her alive so she could breed her. One of her horses is severely underweight, multiple of them don't leave their for months at a time. The stable has a huge pile of manure that she doesn't clean up, but again, she has the money to build her daughters a softball cage. Do not come here, one of the worst owners ive ever met.
