She made some last second changes to the deal so that she could get it done fast without discussing with me, even though it costed me money, so be wary. During this deal the buyer agent told me some of Terry's practices were unconventional and not standard. Also, things weren't done in a timely manner and any delay with the listing and processing of paperwork was always her "assistant's fault." Overall, clear lack of professionalism.

I expressed some concerns about how the deal was made including the agent misrepresenting the square footage and condition of the house. Apparently there is no agreed upon standard for square footage and it's not the listing agent job to carefully check the size or condition of the property. Knowing this is the biggest purchase of someone's life the whole laissez-faire attitude leaves something to be desired. Sure, it's buyer beware, but when/how to ethicals come into play? We didn't have that conversation because she was too busy cheering for Craig! In Heather's own words "shit happens" and that about summarizes her objectivity about one of her agents and the real estate market in general. The seller's 100 percent mis-represented the house and Heather's point was that's not Craig's fault, but being rather careless about how he advertised the property left me wondering how the transaction could have been better. Heather was too busy defending Craig to actually consider that. And because of that I would not use either one of them for my next real estate transaction.

I often felt that I needed to double-check information, due to the frequent errors on their behalf, and advocate for basic standards that should be routine in this profession. Finally, I found someone who was honest and prepared. She found properties for us that other agents couldn't because she took the time to understand all of our needs and interests. We ended up buying a home in a location we weren't aware of and its much better than where we thought we wanted to be. Her forthrightness was really important to us. She didn't always tell me what I wanted to hear, but I found that she was always right (I don't admit that very often). By the time we got down to negotiating, I felt that Kelly was fully in our corner. She proved to be an excellent negotiator and I was confident that she got us the best possible deal. According to her, she has lots of experience, but you would not be able to tell by the way she handles situations. I have to say, I am quite put off by her manners. For as many years in real estate as she has, she has zero class. For being a 50 something year old woman, she acts like she is a 12 year old. We asked to remove shoes, she agreed and then didnt. When I asked her face to face, she said she forgot. Then insulted us via email on the cleanliness of our apartment as an excuse. Mind you, we are in our 30's and this is our home. We stated a time didnt work for us, she then stated that we were getting out of our lease two weeks early and were saving money so we should concede . She really is very insulting and unprofessional. The emails that she sent us are rude and abrasive. If you want this lady to represent you, I feel very sorry for the people that she bowls over to make a buck. Moreover, how people will view you because she is an extension of you as your realtor. I think there are about a BA-ZILLION other Realtors in Chicago that I can think of that are professional and excellent at what they do.
