This is a nice park located behind the Jeffrey Mansion. There are quite a few amenities available,…read moreplus a nice sized greenspace. Near the parking area are the tennis courts and what looks like the pool area beyond that (closed this time of year - November - of course). If you head past the greenspace, you will find a very nice shelterhouse with restrooms (open during warmer parts of the year) and a lot of picnic tables, the playground, and the trailheads to stroll through the forest. The playground has limited weekday hours, as described on plentiful signage around it. Weekend hours were 8 am to dark right now. It offers a fenced-in area for the youngest kids with a climbing structure, a little house, and the like. The larger play area offers slides, climbing options, monkey bars, a moving balance beam, bridges, and more. There are also baby swings available. If you head into the woods, you will find great views of Alum Creek, which runs along the western side of the park. There's a nice boardwalk that takes you right down the hill up towards it to check it out and see any wildlife that might be nearby. The trees are overwhelmingly a bright yellow right now, which was a perfect pick-me-up on a cloudy day. There are benches and picnic tables also available near the woods and trailheads.

There is a very nice picnic area with tables and trash cans available, and a small path through the woods. You can extend the walk nearby, strolling down the historic brick roads and looking at the neat bridges that span the Iuka ravine. It's a nice spot to check out if you're already enjoying the area.

There are tons of trees and beautiful shaded areas to sit and relax. It's cool to walk through day or night. I see tons of students using it. Crochet art, some cool vandalism under the bridges as well as a myriad of birds watching you. They must be use to us! A ton of the homes feature bird feeders so I guess they have a good reason to stick around. So peaceful and so chill. It's amazing.

It's almost a SIN to be indoors this time of the year, so as soon as the indoor stuff was over, I googled nearby parks and decided to check out Duranceaux. Small(ish), clean, quiet, scenic, right on the river, with just a few people walking their dogs, playing on the playground, and flying kites, what more could you ask for?? There is a nice looking educational facility available for groups on one end of the park and what appears to be an OSU boathouse on the other end. If you're from this area, maybe you're already away of this great, tucked away, "secret" spot, but I got the feeling even a few locals might not know it's there. Worth checking out... ENJOY!!

It features several little waterfall areas that help mitigate the noise of the nearby highway. There is a pond and a couple of small shelters where you can sit and relax. It also features a really neat wind sculpture, the North Star, that can be seen when you are passing by on the highway. It spins gently in the wind and adds a nice focal point just behind the large waterfall. It was designed by Robert S. Mullins. There's a paved walking path around the park that provides a good view of the highway, for those interested. Quiet and relaxing.

It's a great place to stop and take a break as you stroll around town or to spend some time with a coffee or tea and a good book during pleasant weather. This is a really lovely little area nestled within a neighborhood. There is plentiful street parking. You can stroll along the trail along the top of the ravine, or head down into the stream and walk around down there. On our recent visit, it was a bit snowy/icy, so we kept to the top trail to enjoy the lovely, quiet woods with its large trees and look down at the stream. We'd love to go back and head down into the ravine sometime. There's also a neat rustic bridge at one end of the park (easy to find since it is conveniently located on a road named for it - Rustic Bridge Road). The trails are not long, so this is more of a cute neighborhood park to enjoy as opposed a place to go for a long hike/run.
