When I came in to see Dr. Rose's after a car accident which left in agonizing pain and couldn't move my neck right to left or up and down, he saw me right away and also gave me a treatment. He did very well take the time to explain the situation with my injury and the course of treatment no up selling me on anything. Going to him has helped me tremendously. I have nothing more than respect for doctor who gives you the information you need to make the right choices for the level of care you might need. Really wanted to like this guy but must say it was one of the worst medical experiences I've had. Sadly have to use the words "sales-y" and "quackery" to describe Roses' practice: 1. The videos. He makes you watch these videos, they are insulting to people's intelligence. In the waiting room it's a TV talk show from the 90's supporting his philosophy of chiropractic subluxation as the root of all evil. In the exam room a video to explain now the Doctor will explain your Xray results. If you're not a child these videos are silly. 2. The selling. Uses Xrays to up-sell. I came in with a very irritated nerve in my lumbar spine which I now know was from an arthritic facet. He kept insisting to Xray my cervical spine. Why? To upsell me on treatments. 3. His interpretation of my Xrays was inaccurate, exaggerated, and to support his subluxation quackery. 4. Brings us to his quackery: "I don't believe in inflammation" that's a direct quote. I was only in his office twice in one day and already heard the word subluxation more times than I ever want to again. The goofy bovine vertebrae he uses "put your finger in here" and twists to explain every ailment. There are no MD's nor chiropractors I've encountered since that agree with Roses on explaining EVERYTHING with chiropractic subluxation. 5. After the Xray and cow bone dog and pony show, before any treatment, he's selling me on an entire program of visits, forget how many, 3-5 a week over several months. Much like: "But if you sign up for the program, I'll discount your visits x %." Felt more like an infomercial than a medical visit. 6. Incompetency and doing harm. I was in serious pain before seeing Roses. Couldn't walk for 4 days. Went to Roses bc he was close by with an Xray machine. On day 5 I walked in, crawled out. After getting the hard sell (#5 above) I asked "what can you do for me now, or is it too early and I'm too raw?" He said ok, put me on the traction table, and pulled. Actually his assistant did it while he watched. I immediately went back into spasm. He RE-INJURED and set me back 4-5 days of recovery. He felt bad I think and gave me a set of old crutches so I could hobble out of his office. Glad that some people feel he helped them, but based on my experience he should not be practicing. read more

Best Chiropractic Office! Dr. Paul and staff truly go above and beyond for their patients and are very friendly and accommodating. Rates are wonderful and hours work really well too. I've come into the office before on a cane and left walking up straight and ready for long car hours or a flight. Dr. Paul is a lifesaver! There's also always good music playing and lots of positivity and every patient is treated with compassion and care. What I also really appreciate is that Dr. Paul really explains what is happening to your spine, the subluxations and you condition and it is nice to see the continuous improvements and have your mobility and life quality back. I'll try to make this short, but I was extremely disturbed with my experience with Dr. Roses. As a new patient it's already uncomfortable and a slow process building rapport with your provider so bedside manner is IMPERATIVE to me. Today I waited patiently in the office for an hour, quietly and respectfully after being scheduled for a 12:15pm appointment. Once I realized this wait was extremely too long and neither the receptionist or doctor checked in, I proceeded to leave the office and reschedule my appointment. I was floored when I overheard Dr. Roses ask the receptionist what happened and when she replied "the patient is leaving and rescheduling"...he then dismissively stated "WHATEVER". I hope and believe that he assumed I already left at this point, however I was there. He then proceeded to dismiss me while trying to explain to him that I need to return to work and have rescheduled for next week. I was beyond disturbed that this would be a professionals reaction to a situation that could have been easily resolved with clear and direct communication. Most importantly respect, which he lacked during that moment. Although Dr. Roses contacted me via text (misspelling my name btw) he apologized and offered the next service free of charge, however it's a little too late for that. I hope that moving forward he learns from this mishap and is able to treat new patients with more respect for their time and patience while in the office. But honestly I doubt it. I would not recommend seeing this doctor there are more providers that are resourceful, knowledgeable, and most importantly helpful to the treatment you're seeking. read more

Unfortunately, He's running a money making business, churning out hundreds of patients a day. A quick and simple adjustment that takes 2 minutes he is charging insurance plus copays saying he will discount your copay if you basically sign up to go at least 3x week. Who was time for that? The discount is measly and with this program of his, you would be paying hundreds of dollars each month in just copays. Not to mention all the time he wastes of yours forcing you to watch old outdated videos, and then forcing your spouse to sit through the same videos and provide no new information, just a repeat of what should have been the initial consultation. I am writing this review because I am a yelp user and that's how I found out about Dr Roses after reading all the great reviews here, but alas, found out the opposite when I got there. About me: Suffering from sciatica and lower back pain, I was told by my physician to go see a Chiropractor. I went to Dr Roses for 10 sessions. My Experience: Dr Roses has a style that is very similar to a car salesman at best, a quack at worst. I actually didn't realize how bad he was (thinking most chiropractors are like that) until I went to another chiropractor (Dr Steve Coachman), but Dr Coachman's review is for another time. 1. Selling: After your x-rays, you will have to come for a 1.5 hour session (and ask you to bring your spouse, parent, kids, etc) to watch this video on how subluxations are the root cause for every disease in the body, you will get sold on how you need to come in for the rest of your life and definitely with your spouse/partner and kids (because its only $50 more per person out of pocket expense, the first person is asked to pay a hefty copay all upfront). They will tell you your body is in extremely bad shape and you need to come to him at least for 3 months, 3 times a week, and from there on, reduce it but keep coming for the rest of your life. Its like going to a car salesman. The selling wouldn't be off putting if it was the only problem with a great doctor, but alas, there were more. 2. Same Treatment, Every Time with Every Patient: For both me and my husband, he went for about 10-12 sessions as well, we both got the same exact adjustments every single time. This would not be a problem if we both had similar issues, but he had extreme stiffness in his upper back and my concern was primarily sciatica. 3. No Care or Concern about Patients: Both me and my husband went to him for about 10 sessions, and not one (other than when I did the 1 hour video watching/selling session) did he ever ask how I am doing, how his treatment is helping me. You are expected (and actually he gets irritated) if you are not lying face down on the bed and he will come in, does alignment and walk out. He actually didn't like it even if you volunteer the information on how you are feeling, but just ask you to tell him if you are just better or worse from last time. Not something I expect from a doctor, a service I would expect from a really cheap car mechanic perhaps. There was ofcourse no information volunteered about what stretches to do, whether to continue your work out training, etc 4. Top it off, with a dirty office: There are kids in the reception area crying on the floor, people yelling at each other, there is extreme movement, Doctor comes in, adjusts you (cracks you) and then moves on. No questions, no care. All in all, I would say, before you commit to Dr Roses for the rest of your life, go see another chiropractor. read more

I went to Dr. Roses office for 10 sessions within 2.5 weeks. Reason for the 2 out of 5 rating is because I felt no benefits from his sessions. I would have continued on for another 20 sessions to see if there was any impact, however, he was: 1. Ill mannered: Not once does he ask how I felt as a patient or after his treatment, but also when I volunteered information, I was told to answer in one word, how I felt, better or worse. He will get mad at you if you are not lying face down so he can quickly adjust you so he can get to the next patient. 2. Does not care to listen or ask how I felt after my sessions; he did the same routine on everyone every day 3. He kept selling each day on subluxation; making it a family affairs blah blah blah without showing any results. I switched to a different chiropractor and Day#2 i started to feel the difference. I am writing because looking at the 5 star i jumped to Dr. Roses, but he is not worth it in my opinion. I go to Dr. Coachman now, he is much better with his patients. read more

Dr. Roses' Chiropractic office is by far the best in Bayonne! Both Dr. Roses and Dr. Hopkins are immensely dedicated to each individual patient. From the moment you walk in the door, the staff greets you by name which really makes me feel genuinely cared about. Dr Roses is skillful in what he does to a certain degree. I felt that after going there for 4 months, I was better until he did one adjustment that made my back regress again which left my back throbbing in pain. His assistant is there to help once a week and is more thorough and effective in finding the cause before he adjusts. Dr Roses is repetitious w his adjustments on every visit. His practice is questionable and I regret going there. This doc does not show you any type of yoga or exercise to help you stretch and strengthen your back. No recommendations or tips!!! Been having back pains for over 7 years now due to a herniated disc. I used to see Dr. Roses when i lived in Bayonne. He was a lifesaver! However, I moved out of town and was not able to commute back and forth. Tried new chiropractor near my house for over a year with little progress. Went to pain management doctor who recommended epidural shots in my spine to basically "hide" the pain. Received 4 shots before he recommended surgery. Rather than go through with surgery I decided to deal with the pain. At work I'm expected to lift heavy manhole lids, 55 gallon drums, and other heavy equipment when needed. I'm the type that can hide the pain well. Up until about last month my back was bothering me to the point where I was walking with a limp. I was not able to bend down. My wife had to put my socks and shoes on for me. The pain was intolerable. So I decided to give Dr Roses another try. Low and behold, I was walking normally after just 3 adjustments. It's been over a month now and I'm feeling better than I've ever felt. He is very effective in what he does. I will never choose another chiropractor again. The physical therapy office downstairs is another plus. The entire staff are friendly and very helpful. Dr Roses made me a believer in chiropractic care. All staff within this office are absolutely positively totally into each individual person that walks in. They know everybody's name if not they go out their way to learn it which makes you feel right at home like a real person not just a client. At times there is a long wait time but that's because doctor Roses cares and asks to know how your doing what has improved any other issues you might have he will adjust the manner in which he adjusts to accommodate each person individually. I have been going on and off for about 3 years now and I won't go anywhere else this office is a good fit for anyone that is truly fed up with medications for pain it truly helps. I used to take pain medication 7 days a week and now I only take on days where Mother Nature and her weather messes with my joints. I am not the type to refer bit I have sent a few friends and coworkers to his office. I guess in simple terms they treat you like real people and honestly care about your progress or lack of so much Dr.Paul will switch things up pending on what it issues are for each given day. read more
