Be aware if you value professionalism and trust concerning service by Paint-It -Wright, Russel…read moreWright, Oshkosh [PIW]. I contracted with PIW, a licensed professional painter, for exterior painting of a local property. The contract included a five year unconditional warranty for performance of satisfactory workmanship. PIW did not perform satisfactorily and did not abide with the warranty. The core issue is PIW did not provide advice about a need for sanding the surface of the house siding. Not doing so, and painting over only scraped areas of old peeled paint, left ragged edges and an uneven finish after painting. PIW did not advise about this subject at the RFP & contract, during the painting, not until 10 months after project completion. PIW did agree to repaint discovered white spots and that is it. As PIW did not and would not abide, I filed a consumer complaint file with WI Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection [DATCP] File 159400. The filing has documentation of the matter from A-Z. The process start was a written RFP, to selection/contract, to painting/work gaps, to my inspection observations with pics of faults, to my claim to PIW, to PIW denial/rebuttal to DATCP. PIW replies to my claim & follow-up--denial: Contract paid, it's complete, no further obligation; I'm picky; Can't see it unless you go close up. At 10 months after project completion and my claim follow-ups, PIW said by email.. from his memory, early on there was a phone call to me about his advice on suggested areas to be sanded, but I declined due to the extra expense. I never spoke with PIW for the entire process. All communication was by email. The documentation from A-Z, and all exchanges with DATCP are in File 159400. PIW's response to a DATCP inquiry was: PIW is professional and always provides advice on work outcome.. then repeated the memory phone call.. then added.. have no way of showing the truth, phone is destroyed of timeline conversations, business computer was hacked and emails on the process lost. DATCP advised they have no authority to decide what prevails, my documentation vs. PIW's early on memory. Legal service is a next step.

I chose Russ Wright from Paint it wright based on who referred me to him. I have the utmost respect…read morefor the realtor who suggested him based on personal experience and there were a few others I didn't know but they were also impressed. I heard words like professional, fast, easy to work with, and I'd hire him again. Russ was able to get us about ten days later or so and he estimated the time he would need down to the minute. We removed everything from the walls, and that was a horrible job. Getting it all back up was no picnic, either. Because everything was going back to the same place with a few exceptions I only had to remove nails and screws from areas we wanted patched and painted. That made the job go faster and it was a brilliant move. Russ and his partner arrived Wednesday morning at 9:00 and when they left around 4:00 the upstairs was done. The next day they returned at 9:00 and completed the kitchen and small bath downstairs and the dining room and did one coat on the office and living room walls. They also painted all of the ceilings. On Friday they were back at 9:00 and gone before noon and the house was done. Everything everyone said about Paint It Wright was correct and then some. One of the colors we chose didn't look at all like what we thought it would. He called me in just to confirm I liked it. There was one room that just needed a color match and he used a little gadget computer and the next day it was obvious the color was way off. So we did it the old-fashioned way by paper samples and he ran by and swapped it out. Every step of the way he made sure I was happy with the colors. I seriously could not have asked for a better team or outcome.

"Gets late start" around about 11 and has to pick up drywall himself. ok fine; things happen, I get it. Although, he only delivers drywall, doesnt do any hanging. Day 2, (Wednesday) Shows up around 1030; works til 3 maybe. Gets 3 of 4 walls hung. I check in, "Tom are you gonna be able to get this done on YOUR TIMELINE by Friday after noon? "oh yeah I have 90 min mud, it will go real quick!" don't worry! "ok, you're the professional" Day 3:(Thursday) Tom shows up around 1130, finishes hanging, begins mudding. Again my husband and I both ask if he is going to meet this deadline, he reassured us 100%. DAY 4 (Friday) Tom doesn't show up until 12:30, technically he is passed his own deadline upon arrival. I call Tom and let him know that he has until 5 pm to finish the job (because I already know he isn't going to) and whatever remains, my husband and I will finish. Keep in mind, he has access to my house from 6 am to 5 pm every day. He chose to mismanage his time, and ultimately DID NOT MEET SAID DEADLINE. At 5 pm he texted my husband to do a walkthrough bc I "kicked him out" at the 5 pm deadline, to which neither my husband or I were available at that time. Tom told us there would be about 3 hours of work left. (LIE, it's more like a whole work day, if you are actually providing a professional grade service) He did bill us back 3 hours for his "unmet" deadline; however we didn't realize just how much work there actually was. We have poorly cut drywall, screws popping out due to his "professional judgement" of using FINE THREAD drywall screws. There are clear gaps between drywall and studs that my husband had to apply more screws to actually secure the wall. HE CUT AN ELECTRICAL WIRE AND DIDNT TELL US; when we found it and texted him a picture (After we had already PAID IN FULL) and he didn't even respond. He tries to come off super personable and friendly, and like a real go getter, and even slightly knowledgeable; BUT anyone with a bullshit detector can see right past this fake demeanor. He also left all the cut drywall pieces for us to clean up, SUPER PROFESSIONAL. We ended up paying this man $2000 for him to bullshit his way through the job, and we are very unhappy with his customer service as well as his marketed "expertise" in his field. All in all, DUDE IS A FUCKING ASSHOLE. If you don't want to get ripped off, and then deal with his LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM for his own business and trade, avoid this guy. He was nothing but a headache. KEEP LOOKING! *update* ***response to Tom not sure why this guy keeps accusing my husband and I of being drug addicts? lol wow guy, way to take some accountability for being a SHITTY FUCKING CONTRACTOR. Even if I WAS a drug addict, we paid You in full, for a terrible job, that's the point of this, this isn't about me, ITS ABOUT YOU, BUDDY BOY, Fuck you very much.

If you're not happy, he'll either blame it on you or he'll "promise" to come back and fix but never will. He'll just keep blowing you off until you give up and the second you confront him about it, he goes crazy and tells you to f-off. Like all con artists, he'll promise the moon and take your money with no intention of delivering. Don't hire this guy, you'll regret it!
