We called ahead and scheduled a time to pick up the wheel chair from their location a half hour drive from Naples (delivery is possible as well, but we rented an SUV which allowed for easy transport.) The chair itself had two removable buoyant arm rests and the whole thing folded in half. The arm rests combined with the three large air filled wheels made it possible to push the chair on loose sand and then straight into the water where our Dad could enjoy the waves. The chair had no problem transitioning from the water to the sand and back, and our Dad is 6'3". Thanks to the chair we were able to visit many of the beaches near Naples with ease. If you're in the area and are looking to provide the opportunity for someone with limited mobility to enjoy the beach AND the water then look no further than Beach Bum Rentals. Holly, the owner, was very responsive, accommodating, and kind. We hope to do business with her in the future.

Once there, Jake was kind and helped us out. We rented two Scooters for an hour. He gave us a map and a tutorial on how to use the scooters (neither of us had rode one previously). My husband picked it up fast, and after about 10 minutes for me riding around, I felt comfortable enough that we took it out on the main road. We rode Collier down to its end which was perfect! It was a smooth ride with few traffic lights, no speed bumps. Speed limit was 35, and our scooters topped at 30 mph (although the one my husband rode did seem to go a bit faster). We passed by all the hotels (which are gorgeous btw) and rode in between neighborhoods too. We rode the same street back and passed by the shop for another couple miles or so (the large bridge) before U-turning and heading back in (to give a time perspective of how far we got). Had a storm not been imminent, we definitely would have gone for another hour or two! Highly recommend, and would absolutely do it again. Of note, they offer other rentals besides scooters- golf carts, scoot coupes, & bikes.

Susan had worked at the reserve for years before starting the business so she knows a LOT about all the wildlife. Definitely would recommend to anyone in the Naples area!!! They have everything you need, including bug spray (which I was very thankful for) to have a delightful time on the water. They even carefully grabbed some crabs and jellyfish to teach us about. The surf ski itself was a highlight--it felt sleek, fast, and responsive compared to traditional kayaks. Paddling together was both fun and efficient, and it gave us a taste of just how much performance these boats can deliver. There were only 8 people in our group which was perfect. We went at a slow pace and got to see some cool stuff. Be prepared to get your workout in when the winds are strong in the bay! The tunnels and mangrove trees were so cool to go through! Chandler did an amazing job answering all of my weird nature questions to the best of his ability. Although the tour states that there is a CHANCE you will see wildlife, it is not guaranteed. We did not see many animals besides birds and crabs but obviously the tour guides cannot control that. Also, make sure you bring a towel or pad to sit on! Your butt will get sore after two hours!! I would highly recommend this tour if you are in the area.

We could not have had a better experience, we expected to have multiple people in the tour group; however, as luck had it we were the only individuals to take the dolphin tour that morning. Sean aka Beach Jesus was an amazing tour guide, very knowledgeable, very friendly and made the experience that much better. We saw multiple dolphin pods, a manatee and extensive wildlife, it was amazing. 10/10 would recommend anyone and everyone to check these guys out if you're looking for a great priced adventure that you won't soon forget.
