I like how they speak lots of languages, and it's more convenient for my mothers generation who knows that she trusts what they're saying about their garments when she can speak to them in her own language. I'd recommend visiting the store, car parking is available nearby, and the shop is served with bus routes regularly from the city and West Bromwich. Quite busy on the weekends though.

I did ask if they could reduce the price by a small amount but they couldn't. What I will say is that the staff here are very friendly and will help you if you need it. They will happily answer your questions and offer you advice. I did find some sherwanis had way too much embroidery but I guess there are Asians out there that like Indian suits with plenty of sequins/embroidery. From saris to god statues to kitchen utensils, these are some of the things you will find at Milans. Although there are some nice saris on sale, I'm not entirely sure whether future brides would buy saris from here. There are other shops on Soho Road that offer more in the way of bridal saris. And to be honest you will find better bridal saris elsewhere. Having said that the saris at Milans are good but not excellent and you might want to buy some saris from here anyway. That's just my view. I did like the god statues and I am into them. The majority are Hindu gods and they are well priced. I haven't actually brought any statues but I might just return here to do so. They sell a good and varied selection of Asian clothing in here, and is the ideal visit if your shopping on Soho Rd. Everyone knows about this place and they have decent and reasonable prices. Over the years my family, especially my mother, have spent a small fortune in here buying Saree's and accessories that come in the most delightful of colours and fashions. It's nice how they've branched out to also include shawls, kitchenware, fashion accessories such as bindis, and items that you may need for religious worship. Overall a delightful store. Good prices, and they'll be surely missed if they were to ever leave.

When we went to the shop the man who owns the shop showed us the dress which was the same dress she saw on the mannequin 7weeks ago. The dress had marks and few beading missing. The dress which she wanted hadn't arrived and the owner lied saying the dress in front of us was the new one she ordered. The owner lied so much he had no idea after a while what he was saying. The owner is the rudest person I have come across screaming at the customers. Customers needs did not come first. Owner didn't want to listen to the customer and lied over and over again!! They specialise in bridalwear so the theme is generally the heavier and blingier, the better! Even their lighter pieces are well adorned with diamante embroidery, which is not really to my taste. However, this is a popular boutique so appears to attract a lot of women who think otherwise! Given the intricacy of some of these outrageous outfits, the prices are fittingly outrageous. They start from £300 and go well over the £1,000 mark, which is understandable for bridal outfits but not all of the designs. They have a made-to-measure service so you could have designs tailored to your size and in different colours if you desire. This takes around 4-6 weeks.

Speaking to the assistant he also told me about a great unique service that they offer at Thomas Pink; if you spend a certain amount in the store in one day, you get a VIP pickup in a Morgan Car, which is a handmade car, ideally great for a wedding! They also offer gift wrapping, gift cards, hotel and office deliveries, ironing, personal shopping and alterations. A visit to Birmingham's Mailbox wouldn't be complete without visiting Thomas Pink. They stock Modj favourites such as Harringtons, button down shirts and desert boots but also have a great range of women's dresses for very reasonable prices; I picked up a lovely 50s print shift dress for a mere £10 the other day, which would have cost me double that anywhere else in Birmingham. I also found a Burberry trench for just £25 which might still be there if you're interested. There is a small changing area which is handy and the owner was pretty helpful when I enquired about a style of dress that I was after. I've visited the stall a few times now and he always tells me when his next delivery of dresses is due. All in all a great little stall where you might find a real gem if you look hard enough. However I was recently invited to a wedding and now that fascinators are 'de rigour' thought this was perhaps my chance to have a mooch. The fact they had a 20% off sign in the window was all the extra encouragement I needed. I have to say they have some really lovely stuff - I was particularly taken with a black and white polka dot number but sadly - even with the discount this was way out of my price range. Staff seemed nice and the stock seemed well made. Intrigued I also had a quick look on their website when I got home - more lovely things awaited including some rather fab gents hats (trilby's mostly) and a 'made to order' range.

However, they specialise in completely different products. Khushboo Textiles offers unstitched Asian outfits and fabrics. I first came here over a decade ago after rummaging through nearby fabric shops for a unique design. And since then this boutique has never failed to impress me. They have the latest designs in quality fabrics. They are one of the few boutiques I have come across that have heavily embroidered dupattas (scarves) with their outfits, because the embroidery is usually concentrated on the tops instead. Given the intricacy of their designs and quality in their fabric, they are understandably pricey. But you pay for what you get. The staff are polite and welcoming. They can usually be twisted to offer a slight discount so bargain away!
