Just wrapped my first demo reel last week with Paul of Paul's Video. I had a handful of short films and Paul sat with me and helped me pick out the best scenes for my reel. Friends had recommended him and he really put me at ease. I had my demo reel reviewed by a manager friend, who had almost the exact same comments about each scene as Paul did when he did our initial review of my work. This place is a hidden gem. It is a decades old facility for professional working actors to edit or create acting reels of their current work. Those same actors use this place to put their most important auditions on tape. Pauls Video is kind of a trade secret.. Big agents don't want you to know about it. (Anyone can edit. PAUL IS THE BEST! I went in to see Paul for a reel. I was super unsure about how it would go because I have such a variety of different kinds of clips and I didn't know how they'd go together. Paul is the master, such a great eye, worked so fast, and I came out with a reel in really happy with. Not to mention, he's just the nicest. Can't recommend him more! read more

Paul worked for Jan's Video back in the day and now he's on his own. Jan's still exists in a paltry state doing unfortunate very poor work now. Paul, on the other hand, has processed wonderfully with the times, works with hundreds of work g actors and knows what agents and CJ'S want. So initially I went to these guys for tapes and they were ok, really messy space but whatever they were affordable, they did tapes and sent them off for you. My main issue with them was I had an audition I had to get to a different city by noon EST, so they agreed to come in early at 8 AM and help me put myself on tape, awesome, I didn't have to stress. I get up early and get there a few minutes early and I end up waiting for an hour, I have to do *something* because my tape is already late, so I left, I felt waiting 60 minutes is more than enough time, and they'd been late before. Then, I don't ever hear from them again. I mean *ever*. This was several months ago and I never went back, I never got an email an apology an *explanation*. Nothing. Really really unprofessional as I've been in this industry for 15 years and cancellations happen but this really screwed me over. By the time I got the tape out they had already cast the role. I don't know if this one bad experience is enough to say never go to them. Just be warned, this was about as bad as you can get in an industry where deadlines could mean your next job. read more

I have only been here twice, but both times I was greeted with smiles and wonderful attitudes. These guys are the sweetest and most efficient at video editing in LA. I don't understand why they haven't had a single review yet. They are the best kept secret in Hollywood!
