I feel this was the best burger I had in Italy so far! Was served on a very light bun with monster burger sauce , Lettuce, pickle ,tomato, flakes of onion and chipotle sauce , excellent burger . One of ours was well undercooked but they took care of it right away. Really trendy cool place great staff and service the attention to detail is a pleasant change they take your order and hand you an electronic pager device to let you know when it's ready for pick up. We had to track down our waiter once or twice to order a beer and close out but that's standard fare in Europe. Food (3/5): My partner in crime had a burger while I had a sandwich with proscuitto and cheese. Pretty much your typical Italian sandwich. Fresh and adequate. Though a bit overpriced. Drinks (4.5/5): This is the highlight. Open Baladin has a fantastic selection of beers including those that I would qualify outside of your typical run-of-the-mill. They have a Belgian beer section of the menu which is always an indication that a bar takes their beer seriously. And most interestingly, for me, they have grape beer . . . say what?! I had never heard of it either. Beer made with grapes, that's a first. While it's not something I would order often, I very much enjoyed trying something new and unique like this. And here I thought grapes were just used to make wine! Open Baladin was one of these spots, and since we had some time before our dinner reservation we stopped here for some beer. Walking in, I was really impressed with the space - it's large with a combination of high tops and tables throughout the dining area. The back wall housed the bar which had bottles stacked up to the ceilings - this made for a really striking focal point. The color scheme was mostly dark woods and warm colors which fit well for being a beer bar. The menu had a large selection of beer, I decided to go with one of their holiday varieties which was quite good. They had a small food selection, and I specifically noticed they had a variety of homemade chips. These seemed like the ideal snack so I ordered some of their original variety which came with homemade ketchup. These were great - not greasy and the ketchup really made it something special. Service was good, everyone was friendly and overall we had a great experience at Open Baladin. Even if you're not the biggest beer drinker, there's enough variety to find something for most people, and the food shouldn't be overlooked.

Uhm yeaaaah, I had my 4 year old with me so sitting on bar stools at the bar did not seem like it would have been a great experience. After pointing this out, the hostess/waitress seemed to get annoyed, shrugged again and said there was nothing available. Most tables here are for two people. The ones that were bigger, were often taken up by smaller parties unfortunately. I noticed one table for four was wrapping things up so told the hostess we wanted to wait. This somehow also annoyed her. Extra customers seemed to be too much. When finally sitting down and having the same lady assigned to our table, it got worse. She seemed to really dislike me and ignored our table for quite a bit. We thankfully caught the attention of another waitress who, after talking with the first waitress, continued to help us out. After being there for 20 minutes, we finally got to order. We waited and waited and waited and realized we would miss our flight if we did not leave in the next ten minutes. We had been there for an hour. We told our waitress and she asked if we wanted it to go. We said yes, yet minutes flew by and nothing happened. We got up to pay for the drinks. Making it clear we would only pay for those, our food suddenly made a speedy appearance. We ended up eating our fries and BLT Burger on the plane and it was so yummy. That is what makes this a 3-star because the food really was spot on. Unless you have loads of time before your flight, I would suggest eating elsewhere or to order to go.
