I have been using this dog boarding and grooming retreat intermittently for the past three years…read more Recently, I boarded two of my dogs for three days, which included playtime and grooming for my standard poodle, as well as a bath for my teacup yorkie. The online booking process was quite easy. Unfortunately, my last visit was disappointing due to overbooked grooming services and poor check-in communication. I received multiple calls with various frustrating excuses, including one that said they couldn't find the paperwork detailing the grooming style I wanted for my poodle and another that cited staffing shortages. These were just a couple of the reasons provided. I received these calls while I was at work, which was exactly why I had boarded my dogs--to avoid interruptions unless absolutely necessary. Since I remained in San Antonio, I expected better communication and reliable follow-through, especially given the high costs involved. I wish I had been informed from the start about the issues so they could have been addressed while I was not in the middle of giving presentations. After all my troubles, I was offered a 10% discount on the grooming, but they ultimately did a subpar job. I am very disappointed with the staff I spoke to, including the manager. I didn't want to express my frustration immediately, so I waited three weeks before posting this review.

Looking like a fine poodle. They did an amazing job. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because I wasn't told removing the ticks would be an additional $50! I would have agreed to it of course but when you're on a strict budget $50 is a lot. Especially in these hard times. I had to be sure I could afford her grooming before finally booking her appointment in the first place.
