This review does not come after just one visit. I've left my dog there many times before and I can now say with confidence that for a short visit (2-3) days it's ok and just ok. I definitely do not recommend for long term boarding as "proof of life" is non existent. Nobody ever knows what's going on or status of anything. It's not just about caring for pets, pet owners need to feel confident and assured that everything is ok. I recommend a strong administrator to keep employees on their toes. Also, for the fees you are charging, cameras, photos, video should be an absolute to keep pet parents at ease. read more

Negative 20 rating!!!! Do not take your fur babies here! We paid for extra time outside and after a 3 day stay, my husky came home covered in feces,vomit and kennel sores on his front legs. His teeth and paws were red from scratching and chewing and he was clearly in distress. After a visit to the vet they told me he was left in a kennel too long and his his paws and teeth being red were a result of him clawing to get out. I called and told my concern to the worker and a manager never called me back, no refund, no addressing my issue at all. I warn everyone not to go there.!!!! read more

The lobby area smells really bad - like a giant litter box. The staff are unfriendly. I do not recommend this business. Pre pandemic this place was great - they were open on Sunday afternoons allowing you to pick up your animals. That is no longer the case and the staff have attitudes and simply don't seem to care or even be friendly to customers. I recently picked up my dog from this place and he dried poop on his paws indicating that it had been on his paws for a long time. i was given a wipe to clean him and my dog winced when I tried to wipe his paws because the poop had dried and hardened on his paws. I don't recommend this place. Get a pet sitter or take your pet somewhere else. read more

New to Laredo. I took my pup originally to another spa. He was basically butchered and stuck in a kennel for 5.5 hours. He is 13 and has been to MANY places and is such a good dog. I picked him up from the other place and he was traumatized. I brought him to Paws and Claws a couple months later and he didn't want to leave! They treated my baby so well and his cut was awesome as were his nails! Thank you! He will come back again! read more

I'm only giving this 3 stars is because my dogs came back with fleas and some ticks. I always check my dogs to see if they have fleas or ticks before I take them to the hotel so it won't spread to other dogs. read more

I took my two small dogs to get groomed for the first time at paws and claws on June 21, 2021. I'm not one to make complains but I notice my dog very quiet when I picked him up he wasn't him self . Later that day I decided to check him out and notice my dogs nails were cut to short that he had dry blood on them. mind you he is an older dog that allows him self to get groomed. I understand if one or two nails were cut to short but most if not all of all his nails were cut to short where you can tell he was in pain. I'm more disappointed when I tried to call that same day make a complaint they said they would get back to me and no one hasn't! This is very upsetting I love my fur babies and expect them to be treated with care and this place seems to not care. read more

After bringing home my 7 month old pit bull from a routine grooming, I noticed she had a nose bleed and ruptured blood vessels in both eyes. The receptionist claimed she was being difficult at the time of grooming but never mentioned that the process had stopped or put on hold in an attempt to calm her down. I am not ok with this nor will I let this treatment go unnoticed. read more

This was a disappointment. I think the facility is 5 but the people who work here are 2 I brought my pup to his first 1/2 day of Daycare. I was hoping to bring him a few days a week, to familiarize him with the facility and staff to eventually board him. But, I couldn't get a read on anyone that works here. The Lady at the front was very melancholy. When I asked how my boy did her response was "well, I didn't hear anything bad, so I guess he did good." When I asked if he went outside her reply was just "Yes" Really?! That was it!, dry, flat, and so uninterested. When the handler brought out my Pup, before I could ask him how was he? He was told something by the woman at the desk in Spanish and walked off. This to me was like my childs first day at school. And the only people who could tell me anything about it, had no clue, didn't care about the animals there and were pretty rude. Its pretty sad that this amazing facility has no good staff. I honestly have no idea what happened with his day. How was he interacting with the other dogs? Did he actually eat the food I brought? Did anyone play with his ball with him? When he went out, how long was he out and what did he do? Or did he just sit in that kennel all day? When I did a walk through before deciding to actually bring him. The same womam told me that all the cameras that were there were for us to keep an eye on our dogs while they were there. Nope! Her story was very different when I arrived with him. If I wanted my dog in a cage all day, I would keep him at home in the quiet of his house without the constant barking. And certainly not pay for it. Unless they re-staff, hire a dog walker. Or if you dont care where your dog is and who's around them, but you like the pretty wraper... This is your place. read more
