An experience of a lifetime!!! The mushers were so knowledgeable and friendly. The landscape we sled through was so beautiful. Leslie is so kind and offered us free cookies, coffee and tea in the heated yurt to warm up after the ride. The dogs were all very well socialized and seemed well taken cared for. They had extra clothes and shoes you can borrow if you're not dressed for the cold. Only thing I would have loved more is that our musher offered to take pictures of us on the sled from the front and putting a blanket over us. Friendly advice: wear a hat, face covering, gloves, snow shoes, snow pants/bib and jackets! I wore my snowboard clothes on top of sweats but I was still cold! read more

She is friendly, kind and very willing to share her experience of being a musher and taking care of her 40 dogs. Her dogs were well taken care of and eager to do their job. What an unforgettable experience! My husband and I had booked a 1-hour tour,$300 total. We had an amazing tour guide name, Josh. We head out with racing sled dogs on a couple-miles-ride in the wood and snow land. It was a unique scene, watch doggies running in front of you, watching them poop and run at the same time haha, trees around you became bigger since you were in a low position. 1 hour went so fast. It's way worth the 30 mins ride. I would give it a 5 star if they could remind us that it could be windy and wear the gaggles if needed. Make sure to: 1. wear enough warm clothes 2. Great and amazing experience! Beautiful scenery of alaska's mountains and it's beautiful at any time. We reserved a time slot at 10:30 and we caught the sunrise while dog sledding. Staff are all friendly and the dogs are super sweet and cute. We booked the ~25 minute tour which came out to $90 per person. I lost both my phone and beanie on the trail but they were able to find it within an hour. I was extremely grateful for the staff as they were all extremely helpful. They apparently have an 100% success rate for finding lost phones! Just be aware that the wind makes your face extremely cold and ice started developing on my eyelashes and hair haha. read more

They make sure you have the proper warm jacket and have them there if you don't. Cozy warm blankets are in the sled. The dogs can't wait to run; they are true athletes and are treated with love and respect. The mushers are informative, fun and very experienced. We did the hour ride and I recommend that highly. Wear a warm hat and a neck gaiter and sunglasses. After the ride, you can hang out and visit the outside dogs or go into the yurt and have a warm drink and cookies. You can tell she cares deeply about these hard-working and beautiful animals, and her staff. Elena helped us gear up and visit the dogs, and she was great with my kids (9 and 13). They cancelled our mushing tour 1.5 hours before we were scheduled to show up, after having our experience booked for months. With barely any notice, Paws For Adventure did not even bother to give us a phone call or suggest a rescheduled date/time. They simply sent an emotionless email and refunded our money. Luckily a nearby company was able to squeeze us in for a delightful ride. It is so disheartening to realize when a company could not care less about wasting the time of people who traveled across the country to experience their services specifically. read more

My partner and I took a 30-minute ride with these guys last month and had a great time, even in the ridiculously cold -15F weather. The musher, Pete, was super friendly and loved the dogs, and we had a fun chat with him along the way. Really cool experience if you've never been dog sledding before--I definitely recommend it. The dogs seemed to really enjoy the run and be pretty well taken care of. No real complaints I can think of, except for the perpetual dog-poo-smell during the ride. Before our trip to fairbanks, i am so excited to do the dog sled ride.. so we booked our ride with the black spruce sledding. However due to the weather and road condition to go to their place, the called me in the morning we supposed to have the ride to cancel our ride. I called paws for adventure and they have opening for the next morning ride. The lady on the phone is so helpful. They are located 20 minutes away from fairbanks and it's fairly easy to find their place, in fact we just use our google map, just put 'paws for adventures'. It's on your way if you are going to the chena hot spring resort. We rode the 30 minutes ride which is more than enough to experience the ride if it's your first time. We also got to play with the dogs before and after the ride. Just make sure you dress warm enough for the ride. read more

Then we got to spend as much time as we wanted visiting with the dogs--most of whom were begging to be pet. Watching these animal athletes do their job and loving it was amazing. A great hour long adventure near Fairbanks. We were staying at Chena Hot Springs but decided we wanted a more in depth experience than a 10 minute dog sled ride. Snow boots, jackets, and pants are provided if don't show up with enough clothing.
