    Dogsledding Adventure

An adventure that everyone should experience at least once in their life! Jessica is very down to earth and well experienced. She is friendly, kind and very willing to share her experience of being a musher and taking care of her 40 dogs. Her dogs were well taken care of and eager to do their job. We were encouraged to pet the dogs at the end of our adventure if we chose to. The dogs were very friendly and well socialized. Jessica stopped to take our picture about midway through our tour which brings a nice lasting memory. This is a way to experience the Alaskan scenery in a very unique manner. Don't miss out on this wonderful opportunity! Bundle up and go for it! * Remember to tip your musher

What an unforgettable experience! My husband and I had booked a 1-hour tour,$300 total. We had an amazing tour guide name, Josh. We head out with racing sled dogs on a couple-miles-ride in the wood and snow land. It was a unique scene, watch doggies running in front of you, watching them poop and run at the same time haha, trees around you became bigger since you were in a low position. 1 hour went so fast. It's way worth the 30 mins ride. I would give it a 5 star if they could remind us that it could be windy and wear the gaggles if needed. Make sure to: 1. wear enough warm clothes 2. Use their gaggles! 3. Leave a tip for the your tour guy! They deserve it!

It was me and the hubbys first time in Alaska and for our last full day we did decided on dog sledding. We are so happy we did since it was really the highlight of the trip for us! Our guide was Tom and his dogs and they showed us a great time and let us pet the dogs after we were done with our ride. Definitely a recommended activity to do while visiting Fairbanks!

We had a great time here! Was running late but they were very accommodating. Loved seeing all the dogs, the sledding was cold and fun! They offer cookies, coffee, hot chocolate and warm clothes if you don't come prepared. This was a great experience that we will never forget.

Dog sledding is a "must do" when visiting Alaska and Paws for Adventure is "the" place to go. No need to shop around, the facilities are great, the dogs are so social, powerful and beautiful. The guides are happy to answer any and all questions, explain what dog mushing is all about. We chose the 1 hour tour and it was perfect!

Great and amazing experience! Beautiful scenery of alaska's mountains and it's beautiful at any time. We reserved a time slot at 10:30 and we caught the sunrise while dog sledding. Staff are all friendly and the dogs are super sweet and cute. We booked the ~25 minute tour which came out to $90 per person. I lost both my phone and beanie on the trail but they were able to find it within an hour. I was extremely grateful for the staff as they were all extremely helpful. They apparently have an 100% success rate for finding lost phones! Just be aware that the wind makes your face extremely cold and ice started developing on my eyelashes and hair haha.

Great experience ! Recommend for anyone visiting the area to at least check out dog mushing. It will be very cold especially when the wind chill hits your face. Make sure to dress extra warm. PFA offers hot cocoa and cookies at their warm office yurt which is a plus. The guide was nice and friendly. Easy to book online. Price is fair. Good activity for the whole family.

My husband and I took a few days to relax and recharge in the beautiful state of Alaska. One activity we wanted to try was dog mushing. Paws for Adventure allowed us the opportunity to experience Alaskan scenery in a cared for and safe environment. Upon our arrival we were welcomed and fitted with warm clothing to ensure our attire would keep us warm during our experience. We were escorted to meet some of the dogs and all of them were friendly and adorable. Tom , our musher, shared his passion for mushing and made us feel so comfortable. We were so thankful for his years of experience and dedication to the art of mushing. Paws for Adventure is an experience you want to add to your Alaskan exploitation adventure! Thank you!

I had a really good time. I arrived early, since I was early, we started on time and had fun. The dogs were so ready to go. Once we started lining up the dogs, it was like they all wanted to be picked for the tour. It was an awesome experience and I really enjoyed getting to know my musher.

The wintry drive to Paws for Adventure was breathtaking. Brittany was welcoming and ensured we had the proper gear for our excursion. We appreciated the arctic jackets & boots that kept us comfortable in the sled in subzero temps. Our guide, Olaf, and his team of dogs were absolutely PHENOMENAL! We could have listened to him all day answering our questions about his dogs, the Fairbanks area and living on his homestead deep in the Alaskan bush with all of his pups nine months of the year. The trails and experience were absolutely unforgettable.

It was amazing to be able to stand on the sled runners in the back, in addition to just sitting in the sled. We also spent some time in the kennel yard playing and taking photos of all the beautiful dogs, who all had such distinct personalities! We had an appointment for 2pm-3:30pm. In reality we were a couple minutes late and after photo ops/changing it was closer to 2-4pm. Allow yourself closer to 45-60 minutes driving from Fairbanks in winter when it's slippery and icy roads. As of February 2025 the Google GPS was accurate although I would recommend screenshotting instructions just in case. Going back home I had trouble finding a signal until a little further down. I really appreciate they had extra gear! I didn't find snow pants at Walmart. But they had snow bibs, parkas, snow boots, gloves etc. There was another small group of 4 at our time slot. But each tour is 2 people. One person gets to sit and the other can stand up to "drive" in the back. We started off with a short oral history of Alaskan huskies and dog sledding in Alaska. Then we had 10-15 minutes to play with the dogs. Most of them were very friendly. If you gently call their name they'll come out of their house for pets. Some were a little shy (pandemic pups or naturally reserved). Then we were shown a demonstration on how to stand on the sled and use the drag mat and the brake. Next was a demo on how to harness the dogs. Our tour guide was Jesse! He was awesome. I really enjoyed talking to him. He was very patient answering my questions about his dogs. After we personally harnessed one dog each Jesse took care of the rest and chose the order of the sled hook up. We stopped about 2-3 times for photo ops. During the first stop (about the halfway point) you get the option of switching from the sitting sled to the standing driving sled. Not very strenuous. But lots of fun! Highly recommend the snow pants in winter. I took a two steps off the path and ended up calf deep in snow. The dogs start barking and getting a little impatient when you stop too long. They really are well taken care of and love to run! Jesse unharnessed the dogs at the end of the tour. We were able to go into the cabin to take off gear. There's also merchandise, hot cocoa, and please tip your tour guides. They even include Venmo QR codes which is perfect for our increasingly cashless society. Highly recommend Black Spruce for dog sledding in the Fairbanks area!
