It's hard for anyone to maintain a 5-star rating, but Snow Sleighers do and they deserve the rating. Jeff contacted us and told us our initial reservation would not yield the best results for seeing the Northern Lights and suggested we come a day later instead. I appreciated that so much because we ended up with a clear night and were able to see them on our first time. When we arrived at the location provided, we were greeted by Jeff. He assessed what we were wearing. Although we thought we were dressed appropriately for the cold; turns out we were NOT. He provided us with snow bibs and gloves. He offered boots and balaclavas as well but we were good there. I initially didn't think I would need the snow bibs but turned out I did. I never felt so cold on the tour I couldn't enjoy it. Helmets and goggles were provided also. As for the tour itself, it was spectacular! It is pretty clear Jeff is knowledgeable and does his research to ensure you have a great time. He answered all of our questions (no matter how silly) and was super engaging and kind. He had a tripod camera and took the most amazing photos of the Aurora Borealis and of us with that in the background. We have done tours in several other states but this one knocks it out of the park. Do yourself a favor if your bucket list is in search of Aurora Borealis and you want to have fun in search of it, do a tour with the Snow Sleighers. Jeff was fantastic and the other folks at the cabin were friendly as well. They had two dogs there who were very sweet and appeared to enjoy having guests as well.

Colton was absolutely AMAZING!!!! He was funny, knowledgeable, and very aware. He made our tour so much fun! Highly recommended!

What an amazing experience. Colton, our guide, made sure that everyone understood how to safely drive the snow machines. We had a wonderful mix of trail riding and free riding on frozen lakes. Heated handles were an added bonus. The experience was exhilarating! If you're looking for snow machine day in Fairbanks, book Snow Sleighers for sure! Two thumbs way up!

Amazing tour, this was celebrating my 70 birthday and the top memory of my trip. Bow our guide was very helpful and understanding with the fact I had never been snow mobiling before. We went through forest, across creeks and onto a frozen lake. Heated handlebars were a bonus as it was 4 degrees at the time. If you get a chance book with Bow!

Absolutely amazing experience! Our tour guide Jeff was super awesome. Jeff helped us get outfitted with the right gear, gave ton of information about the Alaskan landscape/wildlife along the trail and regularly checked up on us throughout the tour. The tour trail itself was great running through both open spaces and dense tree coverage making the entire tour fun. As a bonus, Jeff also gave a bunch of useful aurora tracking tips.

If I could give 10 stars I would for the absolutely wonderful time we had with Bow today. We were looking to fill some time in our day and looked up snowmobiling because it was a bucket list item for my hubby. The online portal didn't show any availability but gave a number to call so we did and they were able to get us set up a couple of hours before. We showed up and from the start we could tell it was going to be a great ride. It was just us and Bow and he made the tour very personalized. He is super personable and has a very unique background which made learning about the area even more interesting. His dogs are also insanely cute. Request Bow, you won't regret it!

This was one of my favorite excursions we did while on the great "hunt" for the Aurora Borealis. Since I was dragging my husband away from the sunny 80 degree weather to -2 cold weather I needed to book something fun for him. They made an exception and let us book one rider and one passenger. I'm so glad it worked out! The bathroom consisted of an outhouse and this is the 2nd one I've seen here so far so I guess it's normal. Just to let you know in case you aren't fond of O.Hs We went inside a small building to fill out some paperwork and got extra gear and fitted for helmets. Our guide was Eric and he was patient and I felt he really enjoyed his job. He took the time to explain everything about the tour and what we would see and do. It was so much fun! We rode through the Black Spruce and Aspens. Got some pretty good elevation. Road on a frozen pond and checked out some other fun areas. The tour lasted for 2 full hours of riding. So much more than I expected. Eric stopped and took so many pictures for us too! Such a fun day. Highly recommend it!

Jeff got me in today last minute on a 2 hour snowmobile trip. He was super friendly and knowledgeable about the area and surrounding landscape. Breathtaking scenery on this tour as well. Thanks again Jeff!

    The Northern Lights!

Had such a great experience! We had two tour guides who were super friendly and knowledgeable. This was my first time snowmobiling and I was a bit nervous at first, but ended up loving it! We stopped at two spots to see the northern lights, with the second stop being the most magical and vibrant. It is a long ride and it does get very cold at night, but it's so worth it! Dress warm, take a nap and use the bathroom before you go (they only have an outhouse), and you're all set! Also, you need a car to get there (it would be really hard to find a ride at 2 am). Highly recommend renting a car while in Fairbanks!

Johnny was awesome! He gave us the right balance of freedom and control so that we all had a safe, fun time. You would enjoy this whether you were brand new to snow machining or if you have been doing it for years.

We met Ronn & Marketa for the night tour at an accessible & central meeting spot in Fairbanks, as we were staying ~20 min away. Ronn drove the comfortable van while Marketa analyzed satellite data for cloud coverage and predicted the best places to see the aurora. We saw brilliant aurora from the moment we arrived in our spot for the night! I brought my own DSLR and my partner rented a camera; we loved the guidance on how to photograph the sky. Marketa also took stunning portraits of us. From the get-go, their communication was outstanding. The Aurora Chasers website fully prepared us for what to buy/wear to stay warm in -40 to -20F weather. If you're interested in seeing the Northern Lights, I highly recommend taking a tour. My partner and I were not equipped to drive on icy, snowy roads late at night and to navigate weather data on our own - Ronn & Marketa made it possible for us to experience clear skies and thus vivid, magical aurora during our trip to Fairbanks.

Having a little bit of DSLR experience, I needed a tour company that didn't just drop me off into a warm hut with hot chocolate, but someone with photography expertise to help me operate in the raw elements of Alaska. I did my research with ALL the local Aurora companies. The Aurora Chasers are the only ones with professional educational videos of Aurora photography on YouTube, have an Aurora cam on their own very easy to navigate informative website. You can also rent cameras and tripods in advance from them. While on the way to a remote area with a beautiful private view to catch the Aurora, they educated us on everything about the Aurora. They played videos on a big screen inside the tour bus, which they produced themselves. They provided us information about the Aurora, and very specific instructions adjusting settings on your specific DSLR and cell phone. They have thorough knowledge of canon, sony, and nikon, and cell phone settings, and I'm almost positive they could figure out any other branded cameras. It blew my mind and excited the inner tech nerd in me. I really liked how although they gave us the freedom to shoot as we chose, they always checked up on us if we needed any help with our camera settings, and even provided hot chocolate. There were various people shooting that night spread out on different locations and they managed to get to every single one of us to make sure we were happy and comfortable. Marketa took amazingly beautiful portraits of my wife and I with the Aurora in the background! She got deep in the snow just to get the right angle! Thank you Ron and Marketa!!! You made this our favorite vacation!!!

Being able to have contact with such a majestical creature was so cool. They let you feed them as well. This definitely isn't one of those experiences where they are just trying to get you in and out. We didn't feel rushed whatsoever, and had such a great time. A heads up for any tourists out there like me. If you come closer to winter or in the break up season, there is a lot of hardened snow and ice on the roads. I would definitely recommend getting a rental car that has four-wheel-drive. It was my first time ever driving on snow/ice like that. It wasn't too scary. Other than a couple moments when I had to stop and turn around. I could definitely see myself getting stuck if I didn't have a car that had four-wheel-drive. So just be mindful of that. Overall, it was a really beautiful drive though. And if you're going in the summer, you shouldn't have any problem on the roads. You could always call ahead and ask the staff with the road conditions are ahead of booking. But you definitely need to book this! There is also a really cool building where you meet your instructor that has a really beautiful view. There are also a couple of walking trails nearby that you can go down. And there is a coffee shop inside that had a decent latte. I believe they also serve food, though we didn't end up ordering anything, I did see other people eating. When we were trying to find our way there, we did get a little bit lost. But there is signage on the road on the left-hand side if you're heading north. They are part of a larger event booking. You'll see something on the right hand side that looks like a bunch of viewing domes. Then right after that the turn is on the left.

Our guide was fun to talk t, a nice guy who has been training and running sled dogs for years and had great stories. Checking in: When you arrive, you check in at a little house at the bottom of the long driveway downhill and then head over to the sled waiting area. Meeting the Dogs: While you wait your turn, you can pet and play with the dogs. It's a little bit sad at first because each dog is chained to a stake near their individual dog house. Some of them were really tired and just wanted to be left alone, but others were super friendly and eager to make friends. The Ride: When it's your turn, you just pop right into the sled and off you go! A quick heads-up: make sure you get completely comfortable before you take off, because there is no stopping to re-adjust once you start. Also, keep in mind the seating arrangement means the person in front is essentially laying back on the person in the back. While it was a fun bucket-list experience, it's probably a one-and-done activity that I wouldn't necessarily feel the need to do again. Pro tip: Warning (The Hill): To get to the rides, you drive down a long, snow-covered driveway hill, roughly 150 yards. As I was driving down, I couldn't help but wonder if my car would be able to get back up. Sure enough, afterwards, my SUV rental could not make it up the slope and kept sliding backward. Even though I was driving an All-Wheel Drive SUV, it only had standard tires instead of proper snow tires, which caused me a ton of grief and ultimately required a tow up the hill by AAA. (If you're curious, I rented the vehicle from Budget at the airport, you can read my separate review about that nightmare!). It's a fun, authentic Alaskan adventure. Just make sure your vehicle is truly winter-ready.

Instead of pushing forward anyway, they upgraded us to their Yurt experience, which was the perfect solution. We could stay warm inside and step outside only when the aurora appeared, warming up in between with hot chocolate, coffee, and soup. One unexpected bonus was that the yurt next to us was offering dog sled rides, so we got to see a dog sled team up close, and that was also an option we could have added. It was a really fun and unique part of the experience. Our driver and guide, Zach, was fantastic. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and very accommodating, and shared great insights about the aurora, Alaska's history, and geography.
