It's hard for anyone to maintain a 5-star rating, but Snow Sleighers do and they deserve the rating. Jeff contacted us and told us our initial reservation would not yield the best results for seeing the Northern Lights and suggested we come a day later instead. I appreciated that so much because we ended up with a clear night and were able to see them on our first time. When we arrived at the location provided, we were greeted by Jeff. He assessed what we were wearing. Although we thought we were dressed appropriately for the cold; turns out we were NOT. He provided us with snow bibs and gloves. He offered boots and balaclavas as well but we were good there. I initially didn't think I would need the snow bibs but turned out I did. I never felt so cold on the tour I couldn't enjoy it. Helmets and goggles were provided also. As for the tour itself, it was spectacular! It is pretty clear Jeff is knowledgeable and does his research to ensure you have a great time. He answered all of our questions (no matter how silly) and was super engaging and kind. He had a tripod camera and took the most amazing photos of the Aurora Borealis and of us with that in the background. We have done tours in several other states but this one knocks it out of the park. Do yourself a favor if your bucket list is in search of Aurora Borealis and you want to have fun in search of it, do a tour with the Snow Sleighers. Jeff was fantastic and the other folks at the cabin were friendly as well. They had two dogs there who were very sweet and appeared to enjoy having guests as well.

Second time with this company with fantastic service and ride. The guides are super nice and helpful. We would highly recommend this business.

Fantastic snow mobile tour and Alaska history! Fun had by all! Jeff was an amazing tour guide and very professional. Thanks again for the fun times!

Colton was absolutely AMAZING!!!! He was funny, knowledgeable, and very aware. He made our tour so much fun! Highly recommended!

What an amazing experience. Colton, our guide, made sure that everyone understood how to safely drive the snow machines. We had a wonderful mix of trail riding and free riding on frozen lakes. Heated handles were an added bonus. The experience was exhilarating! If you're looking for snow machine day in Fairbanks, book Snow Sleighers for sure! Two thumbs way up!

Amazing tour, this was celebrating my 70 birthday and the top memory of my trip. Bow our guide was very helpful and understanding with the fact I had never been snow mobiling before. We went through forest, across creeks and onto a frozen lake. Heated handlebars were a bonus as it was 4 degrees at the time. If you get a chance book with Bow!

Absolutely amazing experience! Our tour guide Jeff was super awesome. Jeff helped us get outfitted with the right gear, gave ton of information about the Alaskan landscape/wildlife along the trail and regularly checked up on us throughout the tour. The tour trail itself was great running through both open spaces and dense tree coverage making the entire tour fun. As a bonus, Jeff also gave a bunch of useful aurora tracking tips.

If I could give 10 stars I would for the absolutely wonderful time we had with Bow today. We were looking to fill some time in our day and looked up snowmobiling because it was a bucket list item for my hubby. The online portal didn't show any availability but gave a number to call so we did and they were able to get us set up a couple of hours before. We showed up and from the start we could tell it was going to be a great ride. It was just us and Bow and he made the tour very personalized. He is super personable and has a very unique background which made learning about the area even more interesting. His dogs are also insanely cute. Request Bow, you won't regret it!

This was one of my favorite excursions we did while on the great "hunt" for the Aurora Borealis. Since I was dragging my husband away from the sunny 80 degree weather to -2 cold weather I needed to book something fun for him. They made an exception and let us book one rider and one passenger. I'm so glad it worked out! The bathroom consisted of an outhouse and this is the 2nd one I've seen here so far so I guess it's normal. Just to let you know in case you aren't fond of O.Hs We went inside a small building to fill out some paperwork and got extra gear and fitted for helmets. Our guide was Eric and he was patient and I felt he really enjoyed his job. He took the time to explain everything about the tour and what we would see and do. It was so much fun! We rode through the Black Spruce and Aspens. Got some pretty good elevation. Road on a frozen pond and checked out some other fun areas. The tour lasted for 2 full hours of riding. So much more than I expected. Eric stopped and took so many pictures for us too! Such a fun day. Highly recommend it!

Jeff got me in today last minute on a 2 hour snowmobile trip. He was super friendly and knowledgeable about the area and surrounding landscape. Breathtaking scenery on this tour as well. Thanks again Jeff!

Had such a great experience! We had two tour guides who were super friendly and knowledgeable. This was my first time snowmobiling and I was a bit nervous at first, but ended up loving it! We stopped at two spots to see the northern lights, with the second stop being the most magical and vibrant. It is a long ride and it does get very cold at night, but it's so worth it! Dress warm, take a nap and use the bathroom before you go (they only have an outhouse), and you're all set! Also, you need a car to get there (it would be really hard to find a ride at 2 am). Highly recommend renting a car while in Fairbanks!

Johnny was awesome! He gave us the right balance of freedom and control so that we all had a safe, fun time. You would enjoy this whether you were brand new to snow machining or if you have been doing it for years.

Oh my gosh we had an absolute blast! Colton was very knowledgeable and so incredibly helpful! New snowmobiles with heated handlebars. Whisper quiet and easy to drive. We drove through trees and did circles on frozen lakes. Colton gave us so many tips for driving. He also imparted so much knowledge, we wanted to keep listening! Definitely recommend! read more

We were lucky to have Bo, the head guide. He made the whole experience worth the trip to Fairbanks. He was very attentive, made sure we understood the instructions, checked on us and gave us enough time to rest and take in the views and photos and enjoy the snow mobiles. Jeff was an amazing guide! It was our first time ever snowmobiling and he made the process easy and fun. He provided us extra gear which was awesome to keep us warm through our midnight tour. The views through the Alaskan trails were gorgeous and his talks about the ecosystems were engaging and educational! He taught us how to read data to get the best aurora views and took amazing pictures of us. Would definitely recommend taking a tour with them and especially Jeff! read more

After posting a review based on our experience, the owner reached out not only via Yelp, but also via e-mail to apologize for the below average experience we had. He explained how his agency runs, their motto, and what he is doing to resolve the matter snd improve the quality of service moving forward. This has to be one of the TWO business owners that has responded in attempts to resolve any problem we have had and that speaks volumes. No agency is perfect and there will always be room for improvement, but not all management is willing to acknowledge and rectify the matter. Brian, thank you for showing me and yelp readers how business should be done. I will definitely give them a second try when I'm back in the banks! read more

Imagine arriving back at your hotel in the wee hours of the morning as other aurora tourists do the same. Now imagine neither of you had the good fortune to see the aurora overnight. They look disappointed and regretful, thinking, "I can't believe we paid so much for *that* experience." You, on the other hand, are stoked and still reminiscing with your fellow "sledders" about the lifelong memories you just created during hours in beautiful, dark woods and under the big Alaskan sky. There's no better way to get your money's worth from an aurora hunt than by ensuring an amazing experience with or without a light show. Jeff Hyma is an exceptional guide and makes every effort to create an amazing experience: - Jeff contacted us the day of our excursion to suggest we push back one day to improve our chances of seeing the aurora -- he had zero obligation to do that, but he wanted the best for us. (We couldn't push it; we were flying out the following day.) - He ensured everyone was comfortably warm, supplementing or loaning gear he knew would be necessary - He adapted seamlessly to our experience / capabilities on snow machines - We took breaks at intervals that gave enough time for rich individual experiences punctuated by his dropping knowledge about local flora and fauna -- Jeff's a deeply experienced naturalist and outdoorsman, and it shows - The terrain and surrounds were mind-blowing; we rode through beautiful, snow-blanketed forest on single-track trails that made for a lovely and exhilarating ride. The only improvement I could imagine would be for somebody to invent reliable, electric snow machines to reduce carbon emissions and noise pollution inherent in the current experience read more

Ean and Colton were very helpful. Ean was very knowledgeable. We broke up into 2 groups and poor Ean got stuck with the old ladies lol he was very patient and helpful. It was a lot of fun and we actually got to see the lights. I would totally recommending getting the insurance for $35. My best friend hit a tree. Luckily she only had a couple of bruises. Ean took care of her snowmobile and told her to go watch the lights. Would definitely do again. read more

Whizzing through a winter wonderland, scenic views pulled straight out of a movie, massive power rumbling below in between your legs, adrenaline pumping through your veins, heart pounding with excitement. Sounds like a setting for the perfect first date.. or potential x-rated movie.. or just a su-peeeerbly-booked excursion, gyeah! We found Snow Sleighers last minute on Google because Viator had cancelled ALL our tours due to the "storm of the century" during the week of Christmas and NYE. Honestly, the website didn't look as legit as the others at first, so it wasn't my first choice. I called two other places, but Brian was the first to call us back. He wasn't pushy or try to upsell anything. He sounded laid back and trustworthy on the phone, so we booked the snow mobiles for 3 ppl. I was surprised we got in on such short notice. And I'm glad we did! We arrived to a quaint cabin, where Brian warmly welcomed us. Snow on your boots and clothes? who cares! Drag it all in! He had all the snowgear ready for us to use if we didn't have any. He had everything - boots, jackets, bibs, goggles, mittens, bacalava (no, not baklava. I know, I got excited at first too), and helmets. The pink helmet already has an attachment for your GoPro. My friend even got a pair of brand new boots with the tags still on them! I swear those boots were heaven! My feet were so toasty it felt like I had it snugged up a grizzly's furry warm butt. Instructions were explained while we were getting ready so no time wasted. Outside we had a quick tutorial of the snow machines and hand signals and we were off! The experience was awesome!! First off, snow machining is cool enough as is. But Brian made us feel like we were hanging out with friends rather than a booked tour. We were able to blaze our own trail in the fresh powder and make a pit stop to take pics. Even had time to make a few snow angels. We didn't have to pay until we got back. We got some chocolates as we hung out waiting for our cab. I even inquired about moose stew and I'm sure Brian would've offered some if there was any left. I had such an amazing time, I can't wait to find something like that when I get home. I wish I had booked a longer tour or the hot springs tour with Snow Sleighers, though. That would've been awesome! Support your locals.. I'm glad our excursions were cancelled and we found Snow Sleighers. Best decision we made! read more

I LOVED my experience with Snow Sleighers! I went out 3 nights during my stay in Fairbanks. (No joke, ask them haha.) I saw the northern lights all three nights. The first night I went out with tour guide Spencer. He is super cool and very informative. The second night I went out with Jeremy. Jeremy brought hot coco - so he's cooler than Spencer ;) The third night, I went out with Spencer. I had so much fun. I'll definitely be back. 10/10 experience. read more

Coulton was a great guide, very patient with my family and kids. He took us pictures and was very friendly with the kids.
We had an amazing tour! We did the two hour tour, and felt that amount of time was perfect to be able to explore, and to take breaks to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Our guide (I forgot his name, but he had a magnificent beard!) was a lot of fun. He was knowledgeable and entertaining, and his love for the area was evident. The trails were clear and scenic, and we saw a nice mix of wide open spaces and denser wooded areas along the way. The machines we used were brand new and in great shape. The heated handlebars were a nice bonus. This was certainly a great part of our visit to Alaska! read more

This was probably my favorite part of our Alaska trip, even though we didn't get to see the northern lights (I mean *technically* we did see the northern lights but not to the scale that you see in all the pictures). We had a great time with our guide, Paul ( I think that was his name, sorry if I'm wrong). As we went before peak season, we actually ended up having a private aurora/snowmobile tour. After a quick intro, we started on our tour. We snowmobiled from about 10PM to 2AM in the morning, stopping along any interesting points or good areas to try and catch the aurora. Note: You set the pace, so if you or anyone in your group wants to slow down or speed it up (within reason), you can. You also don't have to do the entire 10PM to 2PM if you don't want too. We were there to catch the aurora and get our money's worth so we did the entire duration of the trip (also we got lucky with the weather - which was in the teens rather than the usual -20F). If you don't have the proper gear, they provide anything you will need. If I'm ever in the area, I'd love to try it during the daytime. Highly recommend. read more

Great way for five friends visiting Fairbanks to see the Lights. Our personable guide helped us put on our elaborate gear, a combo of what we brought with us supplemented by the even warmer gear they provided. None of us had ever driven snowmobiles before so we were a bit apprehensive, but we were given instructions and it was actually very easy. A great ride through the snowy night with stops at several locations to watch the light, plus some hot chocolate. Wonderful time! read more

Matt was the best guide you can ask for. Highly recommend for all your tour guide needs. We selected the aurora view at night during MLK weekend in January when it is -15 degrees and thought we bought all the right stuff to go. I recommend you listen to his recommendations and wear what they provide on top of your gear because it will get really cold. Hand warmers are a must if you are not use to the below zero weather. Recommend you place two of them in each hand and foot before you leave the office because it does take minutes before they work. They have a helmet with a go pro attachment of you want to bring your go pro. He gave us hot chocolate to help warm up. Bonus points read more

On my first day in Fairbanks, 2/1/25, I rode with tour guide Jeff and other guests from Florida. Fresh snow had fallen overnight, exquisitely covering the forest spruce and birch trees. It was a phenomenal adventure with the Snowsleighers. We rode on pristine trails and roared through deep powder on the frozen marshes for hours. I wanted more. This frontier filled me with curiosity and joy from head to toe. So I booked an Aurora Borealis tour for 2/8/25, my last night in Alaska. The day ride was grand, and the night tour spectacular. This is a must for all adventurers. You receive gear, head to toe, awesome guides with spunk, and knowledge that is so cool. Great snow machines and a desire to do it again when you return to camp! read more

This company gets 5 stars for giving me one of the most wonderful experiences of my life. Our guide, Brian, took us out for an "Aurora Chasers" tour and we were fortunate enough to have the northern lights dance for hours. They were professional, curtious, and just good people to be with. The guys are amazing! We got very warm clothes, boots and helmets. The snowmachines are in good shape and very easy to get into it. I enjoyed the time outside in beautiful nature. We saw a fox and a moose and had a great time riding on a frozen lake. I can highly recommend it! read more
