Love the veterinarian, he takes his time to explain everything and reasonable cost. Talked to us about the cost of treatment

Clean, friendly, and professional. I would definitely recommend this place for spay or neuter.

It all started in 1989 when I was only 19 and I took my sick hamster to Viscaya-Prado. Dr…read more McKelvie was SO KIND, GENTLE & COMPASSIONATE. Fast forward 31 years later and Viscaya-Prado Vet has been our go to Vet for an uncountable number of fur babies including hamsters, birds, rabbits, turtles, cats, dogs, injured wildlife and numerous strays & fosters. His expertise (as well as other the other Doctors in the practice) is unparalleled. He has saved animals that others gave no hope and also let us know when it was time to say good-bye because it was BEST FOR THE ANIMAL. I have referred more people than I can count over the past 30 years & I have NEVER had one of them regret going to Viscaya-Prado. The staff has ALWAYS been amazing & alot of them have been with this practice for decades (that alone should tell you something). We volunteer for 4 local animal rescues groups & ALL of them use Viscaya-Prado (Paws Crossed, Helping Paws, Paws Lee County & Wolfhounds Legacy) and we are aware of MANY others that use them as well. The reason ? They are simply one of the best & explains why they have been in practice for 43+ years. Keep in mind when you read negative reviews: If your appointment runs late it is probably because they have accommodated an emergency (if you were the emergency you would be grateful). Vet medicine is expensive, however, they are no higher than other local offices. Not a Doctor on the planet will get everything right (human or animal) however, in my experience they have ALWAYS tried their hardest.

The vet we changed from to go to VPVH (because we felt THEY were too expensive, charges half of that. Back to them we go now. Be forewarned...don't go unless you have good vet insurance.

The receptionists were very nice when I called in to update on my arrival, as I was really at the mercy of the airline, baggage claim, and traffic on making the 11:30 estimated time or not. The first assistant took down our info as always and did temps and then we met Dr. Bradley for the first time. I had worked with Dr. Sy for years who recently moved away, and with a situation of this level I was nervous to try a new Dr. but I can say Dr. Bradley is amazing, was extremely kind to both my mom (aka Grandma to Gizmo) and myself who were both really scared and nervous about what was going on. She was knowledgeable, and seemed to know exactly the strategy and course of tests to diagnose Gizmo. She arrived at kennel cough which seems even more likely now as Gizmo is already responding well to meds. Due to the high level of care we received yesterday, and that we've received in the past, this place should be 6 stars, not five, but I can only give five.
