What's pawsitively pawesome +'s: + Skill. I have a one year old pup and a senior dog. She commanded their attention in both still and active shots. They responded to her very well. The 1-1/2 year old is especially easily distracted but Andrea managed to have my pup's attention in all our action shots. + Memorable moments. The pictures are priceless--I wanted them all. Even my friends who know my two dogs very well were impressed and said the essence of my dogs were captured in the photos. + Timely. Andrea and her assistant showed up on time and made time for the right shot. Andrea didn't mind getting down on the ground to get a dog eyes' view! And during the pandemic, she and her assistant wore masks. + Action shots. I was worried that my younger dog would run off and not pay attention. My worries were unfounded as I saw my dog run to her over and over again. Not once did my dog run off to chase a bird or sniff something on the grounds. Every single time she ran to Andrea to give her the perfect action shot! + No pressure. During our viewing session, Andrea patiently allowed me to view the proofs and select my favorites. Andrea immediately made us all feel at ease and Kuma fell in love with her and her treats. We left our shoot feeling like we'd made a new friend! When we met with Andrea to view the photos she took, I immediately started tearing up watching the slideshow. At the time, our pup Kuma had been on steroids and various other medications for many months and hadn't been his true, energetic self. Seeing him running and smiling in the photos made my heart swell and eyes fill with happy tears. Located on the second floor of a commercial building, Near & Dear can be easily accessed by taking a flight of stairs. You'll find a sign that points directly to the studio door. Upon arriving, we were warmly greeted by Hyemee who was eager to show us the ropes. She shared tips on how to position ourselves, directed us to the available props, and offered herself as a resource for any questions or concerns. There are a variety of background colors to select from (white, blue, purple, pink, etc.) and cute minimalist stools to sit on! My boyfriend and I did a self-shot session where we had a blast experimenting with the props and capturing our cute moments together. When we were done, Hyemee loaded all our photos onto the computer and requested we narrow them down to our top 5. At one point, I had a hard time picking between two photos and requested her opinion, which she kindly obliged! Once we were set on our 5 photos, she got to editing them right away. They were printed and AirDropped to our phones within 10-15 minutes. You can also purchase additional photos if your selected 5 aren't enough (we did! ;-)). One thing I appreciate about Near & Dear is that the presets/editing style for the photos is GORGEOUS! Other studios usually just give you the raw/unedited versions which is fine too, but the extra step of editing just goes to show how much they care about making your experience feel like an all-inclusive service. Aside from studio sessions, Hyemee also does professional couple/engagement shoots--she was a photographer before she opened this studio and it shows in the way she cares about her clients. As soon as you enter the studio, you can tell that everything was carefully picked out and thought about. All the decorations and props were super cute! Jenny, Hyemee, and Vanessa were super sweet and helped us set up our backdrops, decorations, and props. We also brought along 2 of our dogs! They were all so sweet, patient, and love to them. They played with them while my boyfriend and I took our pictures first. And then they helped us take pictures with our 2 dogs! They were super patient as we picked out our photos and even printed out some film prints for us to take home! We loved our experiences and how our pictures came out. After it was edited, you can really see all the love and time Hyemee put into these pictures. What sets their photos aside from other studios is that it's not super bright and gives a homey/cozy feel. My dogs didn't even want to leave after because he fell asleep in their laps!
