In a typical country main strip, Paxton Pantry Cafe was the stand out for morning tea on a recent day out in Kurri Kurri. What is truly surprising about Paxton Pantry (even more surprising for it's rural location) is that 90% of the eats are gluten free.
They're all made on-site by the husband and wife duo and we took great advantage of the GF status by enjoying a honey tea cake with coffee icing with our coffees. Of course, being a country cafe it was obligatory to try their devonshire tea and although not gluten-free, their scones were delectable! Soft, warm and not dry - served with apricot jam and fresh cream - they were suitable for a country morning out.
If you happen to roll through town at lunch time there's a great selection of made fresh to order sandwiches and more substantial eats to tempt you. read more
