If you like a doctor who is attentive, intelligent, and confident in his skills, Doctor Roth is your man. If you want a doctor with good bedside manner, is funny and makes you laugh, and doesn't make you feel like you're wasting his time, you need to see Dr. Roth. He's always been so kind and willing to answer all my questions (no matter how silly). He constantly reassured me that he would rather I call him about anything than not call at all. He's the only doctor who accurately figured out what was wrong with me after many many doctors. And what's amazing is that he can also do regular women's health things too. So not only do I have a doctor who I can turn to for my OBGYN requests, I have an all around women's health doctor that can answer questions about a flu, an ear ache, skin stuff or give me medication for any of my other issues (thyroid especially). One thing that I really appreciate is that the nurse doesn't just bring you into a cold room, tells you to get undressed, and then the doctor comes in quickly and does his thing. Not in this office! No way! I meet with a nurse, who goes over vitals and instructs me to come sit down in his office. Dr Roth and I talk about my concerns or anything first while in a comfortable setting and then I am instructed to go into a room. It's the little things like that that make my experience here a lot better than at other doctors. Things I appreciate because you don't see doctors take time for their patients like that anymore. So yes, it may take just a little longer than your average appointment, but you feel like you're in good hands. The women at his office are all very kind. They are sweet and make me feel at ease. They never once complain that my son has popped in on a few appointment with me for prenatal things. They get finding a sitter is hard. Dr. Roth also understands and never makes me feel bad about bringing him (he always offers him a sucker with my permission). One time I didn't bring my son with me and he went out of his way to get a sucker and told me to give it to my son when I saw him! "Us boys gotta stick together." He's a great doctor that truly cares about his patients. Go to him!

When I reported a side effect of a particular medication he prescribed, he argued with me that it was not a side effect that ever happened and upon reading the package insert, it was, in fact, a very common side effect. He was just not my type. Very rushed and harried, argumentative and pedantic. Not at all a good listener. His staff is very nice. He is not at all a bad doctor. He is just not at all what I want or need.

I don't often share physician ratings, but in this case (even though I'm increasing my competition…read morefor appointments), I just felt the need to share my great experiences with Dr. Kleinberg. After years of frustration, I finally decided to just lay everything out there and ask about options, and Dr. Kleinberg didn't even hesitate to sit down, listen to, and talk with me on more than one occasion during my scheduled appointments. And via phone when I had additional questions... on a weekend, even. I couldn't ask for a better experience, given the spectacularly uncomfortable nature of most gynecological visits. I appreciate being treated as if I am the expert on my own body and seeking help from an expert on treatment and diagnoses for that body, it's been pretty rare. I've utilized both the Loop and the Northbrook offices and the staff at both are really on top of things, knowledgeable, and empathetic. Dr. Kleinberg came highly recommended to me by multiple individuals, and I am thankful enough to continue to pass this information along to others.

I went in for a routine pap and check up on BCBS IL Blue Choice Preferred PPO Gold insurance. Dr…read more Weizner seems nice enough, but he perhaps implemented procedures during that check up that were unnecessary, because the next thing I know, my insurance is billing me $400 for what should have been a completely free check up. Mind you, I'm in perfect health and have no complications that would require non-routine procedures (like the ultrasound was not covered for example... I'm not pregnant.. I'm not totally sure what the ultrasound was for). When I contacted Dr. Weitzner's office, they contacted the BCBS office for me, but to no avail. I've had other check ups at other offices and never had a bill to pay at the end. When I explained my situation to his office (and spoke with him directly), they wouldn't budge on any of the billing or give me a break of any kind. Dr. Weitzner should be more up front when he is implementing procedures that aren't considered routine, so patients have an idea of what to expect in terms of billing.

After months of trying to get a human at Dr. Kelsey's to return my phone calls and emails begging for a letter of necessity to offset the cost of this bill, I was basically told "No. Either pay it or let it go to collections, I don't care." I was truly shocked by the level of indifference. It's what I would expect from a cable company, not the primary representative of a women's health practice. Like another reviewer, I feel compelled to write a review based on the 1 star review here…read more I now live on the west coast, but when I lived in Chicago, Dr. Ullman was my gynecologist, recommended to me by my boss, whose wife was a patient. These were very wealthy, well-educated people who researched for a living and who chose only the best. That's #1. #2: my personal experience, and I am very picky as I also have a medical background and I know what goes on "behind the scenes", was that Dr. Ullman was knowledgable, prudent, extremely professional, kind and sympathetic. I felt respected in his office. After my exam, he would ask me to get dressed and meet him in his office, where he spoke to me like I was an intelligent human being deserving of respect, and not just another "piece of work" to dispense with as quickly as possible (other MDs quickly fly through the bare minimum they feel they must say to keep from being sued, while you are perched and freezing on the end of the table in your paper gown. And then of course they rush from the room, not to be seen again in the event you have thought of a follow-up question.) I had a serious case of fibroids, and at that time the only solution available was surgery. I opted for a myomectomy (just removing the fibroids, not a hysterectomy) and Dr. Ullman did a great job. He came to see me in the hospital every day, walked right in and truly paid attention to how I was progressing, as opposed to most who look in the door so they can write a note in the chart and be paid. Once again, he was very professional, and treated me the way he would treat a family member. I truly believe that the woman who wrote the 1 star review is mistaken as to which Dr. she saw. The description of her experience is just impossible to believe for anyone who has been a patient of Dr. Ullman's, as the other 5 star reviews attest to, and also the nearly 5 star reviews on healthgrades (I believe is the name of the other site). And please bear in mind: ob-gyn MDs are subjected to profound and impossible-to-schedule emergencies. Wouldn't you like to be a priority if your baby's life were at stake?

I have been able to go in not only for my annual visit, but when I had Strep, when I had to have blood work done to check my basics and whenever I needed to have other blood work done. He is very nice and personable. I would definitely recommend Dr. Ullman to any of my friends looking for a male gyne. I feel he is much nicer then the woman doctor I was seeing before him.
