I am so happy with the work that was done. Not only was it done very professionally, it was done on time and budget, to my design specifications. Carmen was a pleasure to work with. Just like with our back yard project, we met with Carmen several times to work out the details of our front yard. Carmen being busy as he is would often schedule our meetings on the weekend, either Saturday or Sunday. I mean I've never dealt with or met a contractor that would give up their weekend to meet with a client to discuss a project. Carmen was always in communication with me either by phone or text, even if he was delayed in getting back to me, I always heard from him. If Carmen was delayed in getting back to me, he would apologize for the delay. Based on my experience with Carmen he as always been about customer service. He was patient when working with us on our project. He offered suggestions when I strayed away from what we wanted to achieve. His knowledge and experience kept the stress to a minimum. Carmen's crew of family members are professional, polite, and always cleaned up after their day was done. As far as value, Carmen's pricing is very competitive. A big thanks to Carmen and family for our fantastic front yard. All in all, if anyone is looking for a FANTASTIC landscape contractor, I highly recommend Carmen and his crew. They will make your vision for your landscaping needs come to life!!

True Landscape did a really great job of making some lovely improvements to our yard! Our yard was…read morea complete mess before they came (with really hard uncomfortable small pebbles, hard dirt along the sides of the house, and wood chips in large spaces making it all kind of unusable). We had about 4 other landscape companies in the area come out first to give us an estimate on our project (Madrone, Pacific Outdoor, Purlieu, Atkinson) and a few of them actually wanted a pricey "design fee" before they would even give us a full/complete estimate. We already knew the basic idea of our design that we wanted, and so an extra design fee did not make any sense for our project. We ended up choosing True Landscape because their pricing was the most reasonable out of the group! Also, their representative George, seemed really committed to the project. He took measurements when he arrived, talked through a design plan, gave us a location to check out some of the landscape products to choose from, and even followed up the next day with some samples. George was also really easy to work with and scheduled/brought out the crew fairly quickly and the project only took about a week! In terms of the redesign, True Landscape installed new pavers, extended out our grass area, set up the drip water system, built a new planter box, and added large pavers and nice rocks around the sides. We are really happy with how it all turned out and our yard looks much more modern now : ). We have actually been going out every day to enjoy it now (over the past month) when we literally never used our yard before. Thank you!!

There was also a retaining wall that needed to be removed and replaced. For the first 90% of the job I'd say they did a decent job. The problem was with the finishing details. It's almost as if they finished 98% of the work and then didn't show to complete the rest of it. I asked them to return to my house and was told by Bryan that they would come back, but I never saw them again. I'm talking like a day of work to complete this stuff, if that. They left multiple pieces of rebar sticking out of concrete. I have kids and the last thing I want is for them to get hurt on sharp pieces of rebar. I also don't have the tools to cut the rebar myself. They had a sub come by and replace our aluminum gutters. There was one downspout that connected to an ugly piece of pvc pipe for drainage. I asked them to come back and remove the pvc pipe to make it look cleaner. They said they'd come back, but never did. I asked them to come back and fill in gaps that were left between the pavers, but again nothing was done. There was a sewer clean out that was left protruding above the paver patio too. I don't think I'd hire this company again to do any construction work at my house.

The average household uses 40 percent of their water to irrigate lawns and landscaping. Using his beautiful landscaping can reduce that amount of water and make for a more diverse yard, attracting birds and butterflies. I have inspected his projects and found them incredibly beautiful. Brady has an in depth knowledge of plants and soils, and how they interact. My own landscaping plans include using Brady for design and install. The plants that i have chosen are not what you normally think of as "drought tolerant" cactus and succulent types. They are diverse and interesting. His plant recommendations will flower throughout the year. I am looking forward to the project.

I'm possessed of a black thumb, so I decided to hire someone. Because of the drought, not to mention the upkeep, I quickly decided to hire a native specialist. I interviewed a couple from the area, and then Brady from Apiana Native Plants came for his bid. I felt immediately affiliated with Brady; his entire conversation and demeanor suggested that he invited plants for soirees and cocktail hours and discoursed meaningfully with them about life. Before giving him the bid, I hopped on my bike (I was really getting into ecolifestyle now) and inspected some of the gardens on his list, including that of his own home, which of course was nothing short of fantastic. I wrote down and described a couple of the plants I'd seen and then visited his Web site and got a few more from the swell little "page-turning" book. I then gave him the job. Brady finished it in a day (he came back with a plant that he had to order). He told me exactly how much each plant would cost and also gave me the option of having him shlep up the state at a large expense for a giant coreopsis (look it up) or order it online for a considerable amount less (I opted for the latter). He mulched everything and created little oases with decorative pebbles and large rocks for the plants to meditate at and also put in a path with some large footstones that I'd had for when the weed-whackers come in to do the large bushes. He gave me explicit instructions for watering, which are easy to follow--twice monthly, so I'm way under the Long Beach limit! Brady also guarantees all the plants for a month. I am very happy with the garden, and I highly recommend Brady Redman and Apiana Native Landscaping.
