At the request from my granddaughter to learn how to make Barbie and American Girl clothes, I…read moredecided to learn a new skill...sewing! I spent my entire childhood watching my grandmother, mother, father, and uncle sew. They sewed everything from clothes, to curtains/drapes, and even kites (yes, my father and uncle made custom kites for years). I tried my hand at their machines several times, but was quickly overwhelmed and frustrated...mostly by the darn bobbin process! LOL Instead, I learned how to hand-sew. It's been a useful skill, but I was finally ready to make the leap. Thanks for my husband for buying me a machine for Christmas and then Jen @ Thimble Bee's starting up a beginner class in early January, I am well on my way and have my first series of classes under my belt...and an adorable pillow for my granddaughter as a result. Jen is incredibly knowledgeable and SO SO SO patient! The studio is awesome, roomy, well-equipped, and welcoming. I felt at home there from the first night. I can't wait for Beginner 2 classes to begin next month. Jen also offered classes for kids and teens. The teen class was on the same night as the adult beginner classes and they were finishing as we were coming in. The energy in the room was great and you could tell they were loving it. Their projects are so cute (pillows, bags, etc) as samples are on display in the studio. I can't wait for my granddaughter to be old enough to take classes. Oh - and as an added bonus....it turned out that the machine my husband gifted me for Christmas is the exact model Jen uses in the studio. It has made for a great transition from class to home.

It's a great place for tweens and Teens and also for adults. Jen is such a talented and humble…read moreteacher. Both my daughters (10 year old and 14 year old ) enjoys her classes. I also took A couple of adult sessions and they were so good.y younger one also did her birthday part here and it was a blast.

My wife and I spent an early birthday celebration at The Foodie School for their sushi-making class, and somewhere between the sticky rice, sharp knives, and the quiet panic of trying not to destroy a roll in front of strangers, we had an unforgettable night. The evening wasn't some stiff cooking demonstration where you nod politely while a chef talks at you for two hours. This was hands-on, messy in the best way, and surprisingly intimate. We made an appetizer that looked like something from a downtown izakaya, rolled two different styles of sushi, and finished with matcha ice cream that tasted clean, earthy, and just indulgent enough to make you pause for a second before the next bite. Chefs Mara & Elon struck that rare balance between knowledgeable and approachable. No ego. No culinary theater. Just people who genuinely love food and want you to love making it too. And that's really what made the night work. Food wasn't treated like content for Instagram. It was treated the way it should be: as a shared experience. A little chaotic, a little imperfect, and far more satisfying because you made it yourself. If you're looking for a different kind of date night in Rock Hill -- one where you leave full, slightly proud of yourself, and smelling faintly of soy sauce and sesame oil -- this is the place.

My husband and I decided to do something different for dinner since we both enjoy cooking and…read moreappreciate not having to cleanup. The experience was top-notch from the volunteers meeting us at the door, the special table seating, the preparation, cooking, and eating. This is a must try if you want to learn, top-tier cooking techniques while delicious food without the hassle of cleanup . We met some really nice people. Everything was amazing, especially the chefs.
