Kids are safety harnessed in with helmet and basically tight roping a big circle... with the exception of green caterpillar structure which is a crawl through. The smaller guided course is in need of a zip line structure/feature. The jungle gym is unguided and does have a zip line feature which is the saving grace of the two children sections. My daughter liked the jungle gym more while the other two liked the guided course. The teen/adult climbing area was pretty impressive. If you're expecting to just zip line from one tree to the next this is not it. The staff from the ground basically coaches you from one section to the next. The guides are really good at what they do.

This is a great place for the whole family. There is a climbing tower complete with a drop swing…read moreand a platform sky jump at 35 feet. There is a area for younger children less than 4' 6". An obstacle course amongst the trees connected with safety wires where the child can climb, jump, and move from tree to tree. A similar challenge course for larger children and adults higher off the ground amongst the trees includes the blinds and challenge obstacles. Starting from a novice level going to a much more difficult challenge, with the ability to leave the course at various stages. Some of the obstacles are rope bridges, ladders, zip lines and other obstacles. Safety is the of the upmost importance and prior to going on the adult obstacle course we were given a workup under the supervision of staff complete with a safety briefing. I felt very confident and safe. The children's obstacle course was also very safe with our child spending a good amount of time on the obstacle. There is a gift shop as well as a food truck on location. We had initially planned to spend half the day at skytrek eventua park and the other half at enchanted Forest but had to spread it out over two days.

There was also a skate/snowboard shop in the building but it was closed when we went. It was definitely my kind of joint: snowboard & ski videos playing on flat screen TVs, good dance music bumpin, local art on the walls, black lights on the lanes, and great service from the bar. There were kids, teens, and adults there all having fun. The place was packed when we showed up around 7pm so we played a couple rounds of pool and had some cocktails before we got on the lanes. Not sure if they do reservations but I might suggest checking that out if you are going on a weekend. 5-pin was different but fun and challenging. You use small bowling balls with no finger holes and get three turns per frame instead of two. The points multiply if you strike or spare in the first two turns of the frame, but not on the third turn. I enjoyed the uniqueness of the game but lost 3 of 4 games to my wife. The only draw back to The Cabin was the limited food menu, but I wouldn't take a star away from them for that. Because we started around 8 and bowled 4 games, many of the restaurants had closed by the time we were done. We ended up finding some great pizza at the local bar, The Village Idiot. In summary: great drinks, fun atmosphere, and friendly staff. Not your typical bowling alley. I definitely plan to come back on my next trip to Revelstoke!

Begbie Falls Recreation Site is located along Highway 23, and is 12 kilometers or 7.5 miles south…read moreof Revelstoke, British Columbia. I believe the primary attraction is hiking to Begbie Falls. But before talking about the waterfall, I must warn about the dirt/gravel road it takes to arrive here... After making a left hand turn off Highway 23, it's a 2 kilometer drive on a very bumpy and rugged road. For anyone with a compact/midsize car (or without 4x4 vehicle), I'd suggest slowly riding the break to focus on avoiding big potholes and possibly damaging your tires. I didn't head caution and learned that lesson the hard way a few days later. Once at the end of the road, there's a sign stating..."Begbie Falls Recreation Site, British Columbia". But...the trailhead for the actual falls is along an unmarked pathway opposite from the actual sign. This confused me as I began hiking and not making progress, I turned around and had to restart. Things can be tricky as there are multiple options of starting points. The hike to the falls is about 1 mile each way with the trail descending almost 800 feet lower into the lower bowl of the forest. I'd rate it as moderately easy. Begbie Falls is a 40 foot waterfall divided into two separate waterfalls rushing down next to each other. You'd think that two waterfalls within one setting can be photogenic, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. The viewpoint was okay. The branches and natural forest growth over time partially obstructed views of the falls. I was trying to discover an elevated observation point to better look down upon the falls, but never found anything. Also, I did look for a clearance to get around past the viewpoint area, but it just wasn't possible. So overall, the pictures weren't as special as I had anticipated them to be. I stopped by around 6:30pm over the summertime and the dense forest obstructed a lot of the day's remaining sunlight casting Begbie Falls from a dark perspective. I believe visiting in the middle of the day would provide more quality moments among nature. After grabbing a few photos of the falls, I was motivated to return to the trailhead and start driving back over that dreaded rough dirt road. Lol, it was sort of the only thing left on my mind at that point. Fast forward months later and researching this Begbie Falls Recreation Site, there is more offered here than just hiking to the waterfall... It's a campground as well. Here are some details... - $15 per night (Canadian) - 26 sites - Vault toilets only - Open seasonally May 1 - Sep 30 Finally, if you're looking for longer hiking activities, Mount Begbie Summit (10 miles - difficult), Hemlock Grove Look (4.5 miles - moderate), can be better challenges, according to alltrails.com. Overall, Begbie Falls is good for recreational day use and or simply seeing the waterfall for a brief hour or two. For those folks looking to explore more waterfalls around the area, Sutherland Falls and Moses Falls can be better visits.

And so I even became aware about Sutherland Falls through a random advertisement post in the local Tim Horton's located in the town of Revelstoke. This list of "10 Things To Do In Revelstoke" included Sutherland Falls. It was the #1 suggestion on the sign detailing..."Explore the Waterfall Trifecta - Moses, Begbie and Sutherland Falls can all be easily accessed in one day." My immediate thoughts were...getting the opportunity to see 3 waterfalls without having to hike and work hard to reach them?? Sign me up! Being a waterfall enthusiast, lol, this was like a dream come true! After spending 2 days exploring Mount Revelstoke National Park, I was next determined to visit all 3 waterfalls suggested by the advertisement. Going in order from being situated closest to Revelstoke, Sutherland Falls here at Blanket Creek Provincial Park was the furthest away in distance. Let me give details about the experience... - Blanket Creek is 28 kilometers or 17 miles south of Revelstoke, right along BC Highway - 23. There's a large sign for the park that's on the left hand side of the road. Once you make a turn, the short walking path for Sutherland Falls is visible. Simply park in the lot and the trailhead says..."Sutherland Falls - 5 minutes". - One thing to keep in mind, there was no cell phone reception so you may want to preset the destination into your GPS ahead of time just in case. - I arrived 7:30pm over the summertime and there was still enough daylight to enjoy watching Sutherland Falls and still becoming acquainted with the quiet forest setting. - Speaking of quiet, I was the only visitor here. Upon walking the dirt path to the overlook, you capture decent perspectives of Sutherland falls in the backdrop. The lookout observation point is guarded off by fencing, but I casually walked around it and climbed over a few rock boulders to grab a much closer and undisturbed view of the falls. - Sutherland Falls is a 60 foot waterfall that empties into the canyon base of Blanket Creek. It isn't statuesque, but still rewarding enough to make the effort to see considering how remote this area of British Columbia is. - It takes less than 1 hour to grab a few photos. - Seeing what else was around Blanket Creek Park, I noticed there appeared to be a significant section for camping. Reservations for campsites can be made through the BC Parks Reservations System. According to bcparks.ca (I believe that's the park's official website), there are 105 campsites on the grounds. Because of significantly cold weather and snow during winters, the park gate is only open from mid May through the end of September. - It is $28 per night for camping. There's a drinking water well, a playground, both pit and flush toilets, even hot showers for registered guests. - Extra To-Do's at the park include...hiking, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, bicycling and wildlife viewing. Pets must be on a leash. They allow campfires and each campsite has a firepit ring. I think I've mentioned it all? Lol. But in the end, the star attraction is Sutherland Falls. And although it doesn't take long to see it and grab a few pictures, visiting here is more about getting outside and connecting with nature. For those who appreciate the great outdoors this is what Blanket Creek Provincial Park is all about.

I did three days in early March with Eagle Pass. Having gone heli boarding twice before, Eagle Pass…read moreblew the other two operations out of the water in terms of both professionalism and terrain. I had flown previous with Methven Heli in NZ and Silverton in Colorado and both pale in comparison in every aspect of their operation. The safety briefing was very thorough and one could see that they value your safety as their primary objective which I cannot say the same about the others. The three days with Eagle Pass made me realize how cavalier other operations may be towards safety at least in my US experience. My guides Ty and Chris and our pilot Matt were very accommodating and tried their best to provide a great experience to everyone in our grouping despite differing expectations within the group. When my friend decided to not do extra runs, Chris tried his best to get us extra runs in despite being out deep in the Monashees during the tail end of the day. The terrain varied from classic Monashee tree skiing (burnt out tree runs were amazing) to high alpine terrain leading down to just below tree line. The runs were truly leg burning and though they advertise 6 to 8 runs, Eagle Pass tries to get your 8 runs in. Each day despite sub par conditions on one day, we did at least nine runs. The last day we got 11 runs in despite a late start. The extra run package is for 3 extra runs for $300 which is very fair. All in all, I had a mind blowing experience at Eagle Pass. While they definitely try to group you with people of your ability, as with all heli operations, sometimes it comes down to the luck of the draw unless you can fil a heli with your private group. That being said, if you ride multiple days, I have an inclination to believe your groupings may get better as you ride more days with them.
