I visited this Golf Town location during the annual ladies golf night event, which is open to the…read morepublic. This is my first time at this location. I'm bummed out that I didn't get a swag bag this year apparently it's all gone pretty quickly as soon as the store closed. But looking at the other gals who got it seems like it's a Nike golf cap like last year (they gave out Puma last year) and some snacks and small items. However, they did serve refreshments this year, which I didn't get at their Markham location last year. I don't know if I'll be back... perhaps if I'm free and I can find another golf buddy besides my husband to join me (I got no female golf playing friends). Anywho people were nice we got to putt for a raffle and compete for the closest to the pin challenge at 111 yards. I didn't win anything but it's nice to see many women there and they weren't super competitive either. Normally in a golf setting, I see mostly men and they all seem to play quite well. It's a nice change to see a golf event with all women. Some discounts during that event too though nothing super cheap deal. I wasn't particularly in the market for something and I'm just here for the vibes and hopefully score a prize. There are three simulators here so on a normal day you can use it to try out their golf clubs there before purchasing. There also a StudioX centre here if you're really fancy with your club set with custom fittings.

I was greeted immediately and the staff helped me find what I was looking for. I was super intrigued by the swing analyzer computer they have in the back (with space for two players at a time) and the gentleman kindly gave me his time and allowed me to take a couple swings since I said I was new to golf. He was able to give me some pointers which improved my swing immediately. I didn't get to run the numbers on the computer because I'm just starting out and my swing isn't consistent enough to truly analyze. But just being able to try it and get some pointers made my day. The shop isn't very large, not a massive place like Golf Town, but it has all that a player would need even down to socks! Got a notice from UPS that I would have to pay $42.67 in tariff before the shoes could be delivered. Nowhere on Golf Anything Canada web site was there a mention of a 146% tariff, no mention of any tariff. When asked their customer service representative wrote "Please note that it's not our policy or practice to charge or conceal any fees or to keep the information regarding tariffs. " I refused delivery and had the shoes sent back and Golf Anything Canada did refund my money.

The downside, of course, is less selection to choose from. On the whole, I have found it to have a few choices in terms of whatever equipment, clothing, or accessories I'm looking for. Sometimes the size I need is already sold out, with no stock to replenish it. The biggest drawback always seems to be staff assistance (or lack thereof.) You need someone to unlock the change rooms, and sometimes I've had to approach the checkout and wait on someone to be available to do so. This also translates to either propping the door open while you search for another size, or waiting some more for further assistance. This isn't 100% the case and the staff are generally friendly and want to be helpful when there are enough on the floor. I like their sales sections, which often have some good finds. Their pricing in general is competitive, and I really like their FWD brand as a lower price point alternative to expensive brand names. I've been able to buy all kinds of equipment and clothing here. I'm glad it's there to serve as a neighbourhood go-to store.
