A couple of days after my second session, my glucose monitor went off in the middle of the night. Normally this happens when I have eaten something I shouldn't have and it was spiking. But, no. It was too low! Not believing it, I check with my finger prick monitor and it corroborated the reading. I was shocked. I have since stop one of my medications, cut one in half, and cut my insulin in half. I am very excited to continue treatment to see how much I will be able to come off of. She recommended many supplements which I ended up purchasing from the practice, before doing my own research (that was my fault). Unfortunately, the follow up was a different story. When I mentioned the side effects I experienced from the supplements, there was no acknowledgement. Furthermore, I was suffering with a very significant headache and needed some stimulation in addition to the needles. When I inquired about this (since other methods of stimulation have been very effective for me with my previous acupuncturist in Houston), I felt very dismissed as the provider was quite eager to exit the room. At the end of the session, I was asked if I'm feeling better and when I was honest and said not really, the response I received was "do you do anything for yourself besides coming to acupuncture?" When I answered all the ways in which I practice wellness, the answer was "okay we'll see you next week" and was out the door before I knew it. Felt quite dismissed and not listened to, and unfortunately will not be returning. I wasn't going to post this review, but a few days later, my pain was getting severe enough to warrant driving to Houston in the middle of the week to meet with my previous acupuncturist who has been consistently attentive and helpful.
