Point Place Lighthouse sits oddly out of place in Toledo's Bay View Park where the Maumee empties…read moreinto Lake Eerie when not spilling over its banks. in addition to the small lot street parking is permitted along the near side during normal birding hours. the light house is located at the site of a former amusements district featuring a casino, thrill rides, a broadwalk, and live theatre full up with singers and dancers and assorted funny business. as is often the case fire spelled trouble for the area; consuming the original pier in 1901 and its replacement in 1910 leaving a reedy marsh most of the park area was intentionally left blank and kept that way in order to encourage and support birders and birding in a more natural habitat which isn't such a bad thing.

Bay View Park is where the Lake Erie Amusement Park and Casino was until 1910 and this ornamental…read morelighthouse was constructed between 2003 and 2008. It is on a small bit of land that overlooks the Maumee River. There is a small parking lot adjacent and a bike and walking path that will lead you to the lighthouse. It is between the Bay View and Detwiler golf courses and if someone is still missing their Callaway golf ball, it's in the parking lot. The outside of the lighthouse is fully accessible but it is not used for navigation and the interior is closed. It is a plain white building and nice to look out but non-functioning so three stars. Right on the river is this large riverfront playground. I love going to The Market for a bite to eat at The Garden and walking the paths. I have been to so many events here and they are always so perfect and well done. There is so much space and it's all very well maintained. A splash pad, ice skating and rollerblading ribbon, super cool playgrounds, concert area and so much more! I have yet to do the ribbon as I'm afraid some kid is going to run me over (lol) otherwise I always look forward to all of the happenings this park has to offer.

Took books to Goodwill. Don't know what was up with this apparently lazy man. Won't donate again despite being a generous patron over the years.

As soon as you open the door to step inside, the smell hits you like a freight train. Mold. Mold. Mold. It was so over powering I was concerned about just sitting inside. I spent most of the time outside because of the mold. They served lemonade which I made a big mistake of trying. It tasted like they got their water from a used toilet. It was so bad that at the end of the event, all the drink containers were still full. They charged over $1000 for some cold meat sandwiches and im not even kidding, like 10 slices of cheese. When asked about more cheese we were told no. I personally didn't touch the food. I didn't trust it wouldn't get me sick honestly, especially with the mold and the off putting taste of the lemonade that I ended up throwing out after one sip.​

We drove up for the Martina McBride show Friday night and were able to park for $5 a few blocks…read moreaway. It is an interesting (in a good way) venue for a concert - it's pretty large and there are different levels on which to sit (if you bring chairs or blankets). The stage was set up by the river and there was a large screen on a building at street level so everyone could enjoy the show if you didn't have a prize spot. We actually planted our chairs close to the stage, but were not able to see the acts well. The video screen was in perfect view though. The street level part of the park has extra seating and many people put their chairs and blankets down on the grass there. They weren't close to the stage, but again, the screen provided a great view of the show. There were some minor annoyances that I don't think were the venue's responsibilites (lack of porta potties and too few & underequipped food trucks). The event seemed well-organized at the gates and with beer & alcohol sales. Security was walking around assisting with seating (those who put chairs in walkways were politely told why they couldn't sit there). I would return for a concert. It was a fun time, being a beautiful night in downtown Toledo, with boats on the river.

Everyone says hey with a smile. What I really like is they have many different walking/running/biking trails. Want the gravel thru the woods type trail, they got it. Want a flat concrete type trail they got it. Want to track how long you walk/run there is a clear map to tell ya. Plenty of parking although it gets busy around 9amish. I'm always on a walking trail because yeah running long distance has never been for me. I take my fanny pack for my phone n keys and off I go. They are kind of back in style, right? Its a nice park and they are actually adding more trails. Recommended

Another beautiful, dog friendly, park in Toledo…read more We saw Turkeys walking around the premises, as well as ducks and geese. They have a pretty cool suspension bridge that you can cross and alot of cool areas to stop and look out at the water. Nice shaded areas and restrooms as well.
