DO NOT USE this site....go to the any other Pearson Vue site. The staff at this site are extremely unfriendly and unhelpful. They lack compassion and empathy for their patrons taking exams and complete disregard for their feelings. The older man was miserable and should not be a testing administrator. I am an elementary school teacher and I had to take a reading endorsement test. I looked online and this was one of the closest testing sites, so I scheduled my test for a Saturday afternoon in November. The place is a little hidden, just north of Commercial Blvd. & east of I 95. The building is not well marked; there is no sign that says "testing" or Pearson, and at first I thought maybe I was at the wrong place because the parking lot was empty. I went up to the front door and it was locked however there was an electronic door answering system. I searched Pearson Vue, dialed and a gentleman answered. He explained how to enter the building and also instructed me that I needed to go to the bathroom and wash my hands prior to entering the office. I was a little surprised that the bathroom was such a mess because the building is locked. It was a hallway bathroom for all the tenants and guests of the building but it was really gross and did not look like it had been attended to for several hours. After washing my hands I walked down the hallway to the Pearson Vue office. They seem to be taking every safety precaution, and there was a plastic sheet separating visitors from the staff. They also had lots of hand sanitizer. I was instructed to show ID, take off my glasses for inspection, and empty my pockets, I also had my picture taken and I had to pat myself down and lift up my hair so they could check the back of my neck. I get it that they are trying to be very secure however I did not appreciate the attitude of Richard behind the desk. He was very condescending and talked to me as if I was a child. I noticed that he also talked in a very "scolding" manner to the other 2 women who were there to take tests. I think he thought he was being funny, but it just adds to the stress of someone who is getting ready to take an important test. Right before going into the testing room; I was issued a locker and given a key so that I could store my purse or any other personal items during the test. I was led by a woman into the testing center. She also offered me earplugs and sanitary covers for the headphones that were at each station. I was glad I had those because toward the end of my test there was someone who was typing very loudly very close to me. At the start of the test there is a computer tutorial that lasts about 10 minutes. I found the tutorial to be very helpful, and the actual test was very easy to complete. It always tells you how many minutes you have left and what number question you were on. You are also able to go back and check your answers at anytime throughout the test. I used all my time to go back & check my work and I was thrilled that I was told I passed and handed an "unofficial score report" as I exited the testing room. I retrieved my items from the locker without a hitch. Overall it is a pretty good place to take a test; especially since there don't seem to be many options around. read more

I've been trying to log into the "at home" exam site for the third time. The first time, the proctor couldn't get it together, and blamed me. I had to eat Fee #1. Rescheduled for last night, it was challenging to get to the site, but I failed anyway (Fee #2). Rescheduled for this morning, and it was impossible to get to the site. (Fee #3). This is a TRAGIC excuse for a platform whose only job is to accommodate test taking. THE WORST !!! read more

The black lady at the front desk is TOO MUCH. She tries to be funny and make jokes... However most of us that are coming in to tale exams are focused and don't wanna hear the extra shit. Just do your job... Smile... And keep all the extra comments to yourself. read more

The 2 women at the front desk work quickly & are efficient, respectful & no nonsense, with a good dose of humor. A few tips for this location: * Park as close to the front door as you can, as that's how you'll enter. Plenty of lot parking, which is free. * You may find the front door to be locked, in which case, press the call button on the large panel to the right of the door & the office will answer & buzz you in. Rm 107 is to the left, down the hall, on the left. * The men's room is right across the hall from the office, next to a conveniently placed water fountain & the ladies' room is on the other side of the bldg... as you walk in, behind the center stairs. * The lockers are free & can fit a large laptop bag, so you should have plenty of room to store belongings. By now you probably know not much can be brought into the test room with you... basically, eyeglasses. (Note: I brought in an extra sweater & the room was very warm, but as I was about finished the a/c kicked on super cold & if I'd remained, I'd have needed it. That's a warning, if you have bare arms/legs.) * Anything placed inside the locker must remain there until after testing. If you want bottled water to sip on, you must leave it on top of the lockers & raise your hand in the room, remaining seated, to wait to be escorted to the locker to sip your water. You must then be escorted back in. Even though the website instructions said closed beverages may be brought into the testing room, that's incorrect as of 12-20-17. Pros: * Easy to find location. * I arrived an hour early. Since a seat was available, I was told I could begin my test immediately, which was great & very accommodating. * Nearby water fountains & bathrooms, should you need a break. As above, if for any reason you need assistance or to leave the room, you must raise your hand, remain seated & wait for someone to come to you. * The testing room is very quiet, but they also provide giant, noise-cancelling headphones at each station. I have an average sized head & they fit very tightly, but were still useful for concentration. * The headphones, keyboard & desktop are wiped down with a sanitizing wipe after each person leaves, which is a lovely touch. Cons: * Nothing. But, it's good to know that the testing center is a couple of banks of cubicles, all lined up next to each other... I'm guessing 20. You're facing the wall & just 6" away from your neighbors' elbows. I'm a bit claustrophobic, but settled in quickly & I'd imagine all the other testing centers are the same. Good to know before you come: * There is a video on the PV website you should watch, about the check-in procedure. If I hadn't watched it, I'd have been disoriented, because I wouldn't have suspected such thorough procedures, used to prevent cheating by hiding notes or recording devices. They do provide the same info printed on a laminated sheet, which you're given to read before entering the exam area, but a pic is truly worth 1K words. For example, I had to roll up long sleeves, lift my long shirt over my waist in the back & front, while turning around to show that I had no pants pockets & pat myself down from waist to ankles. Not everyone does this... depends on what you're wearing. Note: Simpler is better. If you're wearing big, floaty skirts & loose tops, they've got a lot more material to be mindful of. If hair is worn down and/or over the ears, you may be asked to push it behind your ears or turn & lift a ponytail or hair so they can see the back of your neck. My hair was down... I pulled it into a ponytail in front of her so she could see I wasn't hiding anything. I also brought in 2 pairs of eyeglasses, 1 for the computer only & they both needed to be placed on the table for them to inspect. Lastly, you will find them to be direct. People are nervous because we're taking state boards, after all, so it's understandable that things need to be repeated. They're firm but very respectful & pleasant. For example, 1 woman finished her test & asked if she could wait for her friend & they said not in the office. She then told them (didn't ask) she was going back into the exam room to speak to her & they said no. Of course they were right... firstly, we all read the laminated card about rules on entering or leaving the exam room & no one is allowed to talk or chew gum, let alone have a discussion with their carpool mate. Some may have found that to be abrupt. I thought it was rude of the woman to repeat it twice, loudly... I paid for my timed test, I don't want to overhear your conversation about waiting in the car. She'll know! She saw you walk out. Where else are ya gonna be! All in all, 5* out of 5. Very professional women. And, I'll be back to PV as I didn't pass & need to retake my exam. Boo... but at least I'm more comfortable about what to expect. Good luck! read more

Horrible service and I want to submit a complaint to the Department of Education. The lady that administered the test on 07/07/2017 had a poor attitude from the get-go. Three times I raised my hands for assistance while taking test and no response..mind you time was ticking away. Finally got frustrated and knocked on window to get her attention, the lady actually told me she saw my hand raised but was "busy". I wasted several minutes due to this incompetent b*tch read more

Worst testing center is an understatement. Arrived at my testing center during torrential downpour ran though the rain to arrive at the front to be buzzed in to be told to go back and get a mask. I've taken 2 different tests at 2 different Pearson centers in the last month not needing a mask. I asked if one could be provided one because of the weather and Valerie told me no. So I had to run back to my car in the rain to grab a mask which isn't required by the state of Florida to wear. When I arrive to the room I am greeted with attitude. Fast forward while testing Valerie was extremely loud when talking to new testers walking in explaining directions inside the room and also slamming the door each time she walked in and out. After my test again I was rudely greeted and told to grab my things. I worked extremely hard to study for my test and had to sit in sopping wet clothes and a mask for 2 1/2 hours .I will never be coming back and I warn all of those to find another testing center. read more
