Be careful when putting the address into your navigation, especially Waze users, as it took us to the totally wrong location at first. Once you arrive, however, parking is pretty straightforward. It costs $10/car. The staff at the hut where you pay for parking was super helpful in letting us know what route would best suit our time constraints. We were even given a map! The trails were pretty clear, some maybe weren't as clearly defined as they could've been. Note for hikers: this does feel like more a stroll in the park as opposed to a true hike. Some hidden paths did feel like one, however, so don't be afraid to venture off what seems to be the most defined routes. We loved the views of the Boston skyline, harbour, and Hull, MA. This place is definitely worth a visit. I'm looking forward to coming back in autumn to see some good foliage!

This is lazy and disrespectful. But I do go in there often.

Not a lot but just enough to work up a sweat and burn off some of the pandemic poundage we've gained. This park has been one in a rotation of outdoor spaces where my husband and I are spending free time as a way to get some fresh air and exercise. No permits, no fees! Just show up! If you want to allow your dog off leash, Hingham will provide you with a permit. Its free to apply and they just need proof of vaccines and a homeowners' policy. It's a very quick process. I applied for mine and it was approved within 1 day. I just haven't picked it up yet. I don't plan on walking here off leash too much, but will let my dog off leash if its a quiet morning. Great fishing spot - once the flounder capital of the world. Make sure to read the placards placed all around the park to learn some history of the "island" (now completely land connected) to Quincy. There always seems to be a strong breeze here, bring a kite. The funny thing about this place is that it shares land with the MWRA which operates a large sewage plant here, don't worry you can't smell anything but fresh air. What's priceless is with a multimillion dollar plant on site you have to use one of the portable johns if mother nature calls, so "Boston".

Since our only times here have been on probably the busiest day of the year, please take that into consideration with my review. The not so great: Parking is a bit tight, but not impossible if you got a bit of patience. There are no public restrooms, this year (2024) there didn't seem to be any bins for dog poop or trash, there is only one water station at the front. The good: With the exception of one family not checking their dog's resource guarding, every other dog we saw was so well behaved with responsible owners. Between the beach, the walking path, and the hill, there's so much opportunity to run out your pup! While we were a bit bummed that high tide took away the ability to walk the entirety of the peninsula on the beach, the water was clearer than it is during low tide, so we'd definitely recommend a high tide visit. After a little over an hour there, our German Shepherds were completely wiped out and even after the 40-minute ride home where they napped, they were still conked until dinner time.

The park is fairly small, running from the south side of the bridge (by the power plant), ducking under the bridge on the Weymouth side, and then along King's Cove. Around the park, you have the power plant on one side, Fore River Bridge above, and Twin Rivers plant, pumping station, and now compressor station on the other side. There are also some information cards about the history of the power plant that stood where the Constellation plant now stands. Limited (but free!) parking is available! The industrial elements won't interfere with a walk, they're just there. Furthermore, the part of the park running along the cove is actually fairly quiet, and has some benches and metal picnic tables set up. Park was very clean too! There is a slightly dusty section bordering where the compressor station is going up, though this is small (and I assume temporary).
