I usually don't write bad reviews but this facility needs it..... I called 2 months ago looking for a speech therapist and they said they do offer that service so okay like great! This morning I went in thinking that it would be a speech therapy appointment since you know I was told that, the doctor comes in and starts doing a 2 yr old check up? Like okay cool thank you? I told her I was Under the impression that this was a speech therapy office and she said no but they do give out referrals. So I was annoyed but like okay, it is what it is but as I walk out they wanted $200 for the appointment. I told them that I have Very good insurance but they wanted a pre-authorization? Like what the hell, why Would I allow you to pre-authorize my card when it hasn't even gone through insurance? I have been a client for 4+ years. Sadly to admit as a parent, my decision to stay with this practice was out of location/convenience. Two of the four doctors are pretty good...the other two, not so much. Please be aware, there will be undisclosed charges (e.g., the child questionnaire each visit generates a charge, a wellness visit turns out to be a sick visit because the Dr. asks, "Do you have any concerns?" to an adolescent, etc.). I may be slightly biased, but it appears they try to charge for anything they can to maximize claims...guess it helps them to stay in business. Investment capital or lack of revenue seems to be an issue based on the antiquated billing system (does not allow for online payments and the due date is hand written). The facility and equipment need a little TLC. I would have given a single star, but to be fair, two of the Dr.'s are decent and they were always able to get me in rather quickly, which is great...but could also indicate a lack of business for the reasons mentioned above. It's interesting to see a formerly employed physician provide such a low rating on glass door. read more

Leaving a 1 star review out of principle. This place charges 10 bucks for the service of filling out the required enrollment forms for children starting kindergarten. There's no way for parents to fill out this form themselves as they require signatures from health providers. Yes, I understand it's "only" ten dollars, but in the American healthcare marketplace in which costs are already exorbitant, there comes a point where parents should take a stand against practices like these. It's not about the money, it's about respect and not taking advantage of people. They don't make enough money treating our kids? It's like two pages. We paid for the physical. We paid for the vaccines. Just fill out the damn form for us, for the love of god. There's no need to nickel and dime parents like this. What's next? Charging parents 25 cents for the kid's lolly pop at the end of the visit. Get out of here. I don't know if all the other offices in the area follow the same practice (we just recently moved to Fairfax County), but this is definitely not normal in other places. And if the next office for pediatrics has similar nickel and dime charges, I'll leave a bad review there too. read more

My both children are visiting this center since 2003. People are hard working team of doctors and nurses. Appointments are always available for emergencies. They take all types of health insurances. So imagine the amount of work they have to do. This office is the closest and convenient from home. Waiting area has two wings from sick and nonsick children, which you usually don't see in other places. All rooms are colorfully decorated. It's located among other townhouse-style medical center, so parking is never the issue. Mainly my children would visit for an annual check-up or when they were sick. Soon we have to start looking for an adult physician and certainly will ask for a referral. Vicky, the office manager, almost has been since we started our visit. She always has time to chat and check on children. Thank you, Vicky! I lost all my phone contacts and was googling office number to call the office to ask some questions, which they always give me an answer same day! I don't write online reviews, but I told myself, it is time to do your part as a patients' mother, especially during a pandemic. Dr. Jacqueline Hoang is the best and this facility is the best. My son has been seeing Dr. Hoang since the age of 6 until he reached 22. And I have never felt more at ease and at peace knowing my son was in good hands especially during the times he was seriously ill and had to be hospitalized. Dr. Hoang would visit him in the hospital to check on his progress every day. I would recommend this place to all parents with young children. I sow dr.hoang, couple times. and I agree with the review and comments this office is all about money you can tell as soon as you walking. it is not like I was not going to pay my copay or anything like that but they ask you UP FRONT AND VERY PUSHY LIKE THE CAR SALES. Don't think I will be back to this place any time soon. Front office are very rude. They don't really want you there at all. May be they are way under paid or very incompetent. Couple of weeks ago, they would not take an appointment for Sat. unless it's an emergency. I got put on hold 3 times for making an appointment. Repeating my information twice, many times: names, date, address, phone number ... because the clerk is too lazy to note them down on a piece of paper. Their computer froze .. Not a very happy/caring place to take my kids to... Dr. is OK but ... to get to her ... is such a painful experience dealing with the receptionist ... read more

First they take co-pay, then send a big bill to the insurance company, after the insurance company pays them the standard charges for the procedure then they send the remainder to the parents to pay and tell the parents that insurance didn't pay... well you people sent them a big bill that's why they didn't pay. They use to have a good doctor but since she has left these place is left with only trash. My 2 kids, 19yo and 14yo have been going to Dr Hoang ever since they were born. They absolutely love her! I love the detailed attention and care that we receive from the Dr. When they are there for sick visits, the office makes sure that I get written take home instructions on what meds that he/she should be taken at home and other home care directions..I love that, especially since any directions that are given to me at the office goes out the other ear, with so much on my mind. As the kids grew into teens, the awesome care continued by Dr Hoang, she really respects their privacy at this age and at every visit with her, she will request to see them on a 1 on 1 basis so that they are able to share any personal concerns with her privately. I would be invited back once their "talk" time is over. I truly appreciate that extra attention. Keep up the good work Dr Hoang! We love you! I was shocked and saddened to read the negative reviews regarding the front desk staff. Having been patients with the practice for so long, I know that there has been alot of staff turnover the past years. We've had our share of good and so-so encounters with them in all the visits that we've been there, but I guess the good outweighs the bad and the kids' love of the Dr, the front desk never really bothered us much. I know from having talked to the office manager at our last visit 2 weeks ago that there are plans in the works to overhaul and streamline their work and office processes to make insurance issues and office visits more pleasant for the patients. I agree with the negative comments for this doctors office..... I don't know why they didn't schedule us with our usual Dr. Hoang. We were seen by someone completely new and to be honest not the greatest. She made us wait in the doctors office (after they weighed and measured my son) for over 30 min. Even tho our appointment was for 4pm and there was only one other patient in the waiting room. After MUCH confusion (what is there to be confused about, for a 10 year old healthy check-up?) We left AN HOUR AFTER OUR SCHEDULED TIME. The nurses in the front have ZERO clue about what is going on. I asked when do they close on Friday (they wanted us to come back for a follow-up) and they all give me a different answer. When i tell them they are giving me different answers and who has the right one, they all look at each other dumbfoundedly. (is that a word? I think it is because that's what they did). Then they proceed to try and make me feel stupid by saying "ma'am" over and over. To sum up: They made me jump through hoops to get there at 4pm, when they didn't really even see us until almost an hour later; we didn't see our Dr, but some new person who is clearly unskilled, instead; none of the nurses were on the same page (don't think they speak English that great either); and when we were leaving one of them gave me the stink eye. I would never ever ever chose this place. I really think they get their nursing "degrees" out of a cereal box. If I were you, looking for a Doctor for your child, LOOK ELSEWHERE. Took my 2 month old baby there for her 1 week and 2 week check ups. First appointment we waited in the waiting room for 20 minutes and then an additional 30 minutes for the doctor in the clinical room. Second appointment we waited in the waiting room for an HOUR and then an additional 40 minutes to see the doctor. After the doctor FINALLY came in, we spoke with her for 5 minutes and then the receptionist, Vickie, came in and told her to hurry up (seriously, right in front of us!). Vickie came back after 5 more minutes and told her that she needed to hurry up again!! As if that wasn't bad enough, they blatantly lied to us about my daughter's test results! She had an abnormal newborn metabolic screening, so we had her re-tested immediately. The doctor said we would have the results by the end of the following week. I called them on that Friday to see if they had come in yet, and the receptionist said they had, but the doctor had to review them first. I begged her to please have the doctor review them before she left, so we wouldn't have to go another weekend freaking out about it. She was unemotional and rude and said she would give a message for the nurse to call me. The nurse called a few hours later and said they didn't have the results yet and she didn't know why I was told they did. Called Monday morning and got the results and come to find out, they DID have them on Friday! The staff is rude, disorganized, unaccommodating, and unemotional. I took my five year old boy here for a rash. It was quick and easy. Seems like half of these bad reviews are based off not understanding their own insurance/coverage, or having minimal coverage. Not the doctors fault there, buddy. Either way, got the ointment, rash was cleared in a week. A little wait in the waiting room but, that's expected. Never been to a doctors office without a wait. If I would give this place a -5, I would! Let me start by saying we were referred to this facility by my partner's brother. So without any hesitation we called and made an appointment for our then one month old daughter. Front desk was very unorganized but we were okay, went in and saw Dr. Hoang. She was very nice. Then we made an appointment for her next visit, which is her two month follow-up. After we left, she was no longer under my insurance because she was past 30 days old so I had to add her back into my insurance. Due to some circumstances it took longer than it should and she didn't have her insurance by the time she was two month. So I called them and told them about the situation and if they could send me a bill for it; I believe it was around $225 or so. At first they said they can't do that, after a lot of going back and forth they agreed to waiting for the insurance to come through a few weeks before charging my credit card. (They took my credit card information) We went for the two month appointment. We were seen by a different Doctor, even though we wanted to see Dr. Hoang. My daughter had these rashes on her body which we didn't have a clue about; they turned out to be eczema. We found that out when we took her to the emergency room for a different reason. The doctor that saw us that day told us "oh it's just a rash all babies get, DON'T PUT ANYTHING ON IT!!!" Her eczema went more than a month without getting treated, so of course it got worse. So we scheduled her 4 month appointment with Dr. Hoang. In the mean time her insurance was processing, only thing we didn't receive was her card. I called them and let them know that I'm waiting on her card to arrive, the person I talked to over the phone told me to come in anyways. We went on her appointment date. THIS IS WHERE EVERYTHING WENT DOWNHILL! I checked in and I was told to wait to be called by the nurse. Then this interesting creature named Jessica calls me to the front desk and ask me the situation, I explained it to her. I told her I spoke to someone over the phone and that I was told to come in. She told us our daughter is not going to be seen by the doctor unless we pay the full amount up front. We told her we didn't bring anything since we were under the impression that the two month and this one was going to be included. She was FULL OF ATTITUDE, RACIST, RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, and oh, all of them were talking in Spanish while we were standing there. My partner asked her can we please talk to the doctor... She said no, that's not their problem. So we asked so are you going to turn away a 4 MONTH OLD BABY because of $225? She smiled and said SHE'LL BE FINE, NOTHING IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO HER. So we left. Found a different doctor and called this facility yesterday asking for her records, they said they'll only give me the vaccination records today and charged $10 for that. TO PRINT OUT A PIECE OF PAPER? LOL money hungry people. The last thing is the hassle to reach an on-call doctor. Every time I called I had to wait a while to get a call back or sometimes I don't get a call at all. Instead of sending me to the ER, they tell me to bring her in the office the following morning when I'm clearly telling them I can't wait till morning. So yeah, if anyone asks me if they should go there I'm going to tell them to run instead. Dr. Hong was nice though, front desk staff don't belong at a child facility... No sympathy at all. read more

I originally picked this place while I was pregnant with my son, 13 years ago. It has long ago become a horrible place. Years ago I wanted to leave, and they told me they would not give me my records. We stayed (against my better judgement), and the costumer service only got worse. For example: I scheduled an appointment, arrived, and they didn't have it on the books. I finally just found a new place, and asked for my records. They again refused. I told them they don't have the right, and to give them. They charged me $25 and only faxed his shots and last appointment. I asked again, and again. They still are holding my records, and are continuously rude and disrespectful and unhelpful each time I try to deal with them. The waiting room is not always clean.
