Pediatric Associates-Complaint. 11/5/21 My husband and I took our son to his ADD follow up appointment, when we arrived the from lady give us a folder and asked for us to go to room number 10 which we did, when we get there in less than a minute a very rude woman came in a very demanding voice to one of us to leave the room "now" due to social distance issues.  My husband decided to stay outside and waited for me and my son to get the consultation.  It was very embarrassing on how this lady spoke to us.  I am very disappointed. My son is 13 and he comes here since been born so I'm sad that we were treated like this.  I do demand respect and for my complaint to be followed by the supervisor of this young lady "Lead Medical Assistant" should know more how to treat patients and parents. read more

My niece is a patient at this practice. I had to pick her up from school because she was feeling unwell. We made efforts to reach the practice via telephone but they didn't answer. I drove straight there in hopes that they would see her as a walk in. By the time I arrived my niece was nauseous, crying and in serious abdominal pain. When I spoke to the receptionist at the front desk they told me to come back at 3 pm. I literally pointed at the child who was doubled over and asked if they seriously thought I could wait 3 hours for that appointment slot and she basically told me they couldn't see her before then. There was zero sympathy for the child. I ended up having to take her to the hospital. I don't recommend having your child seen by an office that prioritizes the appointment schedule over the needs of a sick child. This read more

If you have an emergency or your child needs a referral, don't expect to get it anytime soon. You could call call call or call center. You'll speak to someone, but they will not get anything done. All they keep telling us that you're gonna take a message and you cannot speak to the actual person or a referral department. They get a keep taking a message. Call to tell you you gotta wait and you get nothing done. You'll try you'll reschedule your appointment 3 to 4 times before you get a referral. It seems like at this place. I am incredibly upset with this location... As I can see from previous reviews they do not follow Office hours. They book afterhour appointments and ALWAYS call that the doctor has an emergency. I have made 4 appointments in 2 weeks and have all been cancelled due to emergencies. Would we be making appointments if our situations weren't urgent. The level of unprofessionalism and not a care in the world is absurd to me!! Will be reporting this office ASAP! Someone needs to take a closer look to this location! I just left the drs office and have been waiting at Nicklaus children for 2 1/2 hours to get a revised referral. No regard for the patient (child) who is in pain. Good luck trying to reach anyone in the billing department. I have been trying to reach someone for months now and each time have been on hold for more than 40 minutes before just giving up. my wife just left the office in disbelief of how she was treated by the doctor. Apparently he walked into the room and was complaining about how he has 7 patients waiting on him. That comment didn't bother her but she was just like i guess he's annoyed or something. The front desk is incompetent. They lost my son's sports medical form for school. Their policy is 48 hours return for any forms requested. I waited over 48 hours to give them time in case it was delayed. Instead they lost it. Another parent showed up for the same school medical form. Guess what? They also lost the form. We waited over an hour and half to get the forms signed by the doctor. There is no sense of urgency or accountability. read more

I just want to say that I should read the reviews before bringing my daughter here. Everything seems dirty, the place is a mess. PA is really rude and unprofessional. We had to wait a long time inside a room, it was the first time in that location and I schedule and appointment for an MD, not a PA (who is very unprofessional as I said before) Only one person there was polite and professional. On top of that, my daughter had labs a week ago and they have not called me to let me know the results and when I call, they let me waiting in the phone for the longest time. When I finally decided to go for the option of a call back, they did and hang up. Total disaster. Nothing like other locations I have been. So disappointed. read more

Appointments are never available so you end up having to go to pediatric urgent care because a sick kid can't wait 3 days for an appointment. When she came in the room she asked what we were here for, we told her it was for 2 things. After waiting 2 hours I asked if we can reschedule the 2nd thing we came for. I have been using peds associates for a few years and have had countless sick visits, and they have been pretty accommodating with after-hour care. I have not had a bad experience until today. My 4-year-old had his wellness visit and his vaccines today. After waiting what felt like 2 hours PAST my appointment time, this man Jesus Hermida comes in with his laptop and greets us with "The same Shit every day" in Spanish, of course, and that goes something like "La misma mierda todos los dias." I was in SHOCK; this was a pediatrician. No Good morning, no proper language whatsoever in front of my child. He proceeds to show me my child's vitals and his growth and has the AUDACITY to ensure I don't ask questions or raise any concerns. He labeled us mothers as PSYCHIATRIC women. Again, the SHOCK factor... I could not believe my ears. I was uncomfortable even speaking. He thinks mothers that ask questions are psychiatric, and he said this to my face. UNACCEPTABLE. The visit does not end there. He proceeded to ask my son to lay down to perform the physical exam, and in HIS words in Spanish, "Acuestate para ver tu estomago y HUEVOS" in English for your entertainment that means "Lay down, I am going to check your abdomen and BALLS." SERIOUSLY!!!!! He could not even use proper anatomical terms. This is DISGUSTING behavior and a poor choice for a pediatrician. Pediatric associates must have been DESPERATE to pick anyone off the streets and give him a white coat. I have more. In English, He called my son BRUTO, which means DUMB. To keep entertaining you, he was walking down the hallways saying loudly, "He prefers communism."Who is this guy? After this very uncomfortable and UNPROFESSIONAL visit, I spoke to the office manager, who appeared shocked, but what is more shocking is the fact that there are reviews here from ONE YEAR AGO complaining of this doctor and having cops called on him. How is he still working around families and children? I don't expect peds associates to do anything; obviously, they haven't he will continue to be a problem. I am going to raise awareness and be word of mouth as well. I work in the healthcare field and am not usually one to complain about anything, but this "Pediatrician" took it too far with the disrespect and horrible bedside manners. Told her it's OK I don't have Covid I get tested weekly. Who the fuck does that? All of this was in front of my son. There were several things that guided me to this place, and they were as follows: -More than one doctor. I like this because we all know doctors are not always available or in town. This practice has at least 4 doctors. -Working hours. They are open every day of the week and have late hours (until 8 pm) during weekdays. -24/7 call service. I've used this in the past, in the middle on the night. Very helpful. -Location. This is a must in case of emergency. They are very close to my house. That being said, I am not at all happy with how several appointments have taken place and I'm actually quite upset at how a very recent situation was handled. As far as appointments not being handled properly, main example was when my daughter had a fever and even though we had an appointment, I had requested to see whichever doctor was available first (because she had a fever). I ended up waiting almost TWO hours. What made the situation even more absurd was someone who had just arrived, with no appointment, was called in before I did (after I had waited for almost two hours!). The most recent situation, and the one that is driving me to file a complaint with whoever I need to file a complaint with, is I scheduled an appointment beginning of February for my son to obtain a vaccine he was due for in March. Appointment was scheduled for 3/3 and I was called the day of to be advised they didn't have the vaccine and needed to cancel my appointment. I have been calling every week since then, and just called yesterday, only to be told they still don't have that vaccine. I now have to go to another office, 45 minutes away from home, with 3 kids, for ONE vaccine they were supposed to have in the office near by home. The office is super nice but that's about it. When it comes to the staff and pediatricians it's a very run of the mill doctors office. It feels like the Walmart of pediatrics. Tons of patients with no personal experience. The three doctors I saw for my child on different occasions were very dismissive and not very informative. It's seems like they are just trying to get through as many patients as possible as fast as possible. This pediatrics office is not lenient at all when it comes to children's vaccination schedules. As a matter of fact they said they would be no longer able to see my child if I wanted to delay on any of the shots. Forced vaccination? Not Ok! I will be going to Miami Beach Pediatrics from now on. I had a WAY better experience at this office. The doctors actually are receptive to the parents questions and concerns. Good Luck read more

To the point where you're waiting 2 hours (and more) AFTER you've been called into a room. On several occasions I've cancelled appointments and rebooked to only find out that whoever was on the other end of my call neither cancelled nor rebooked. I absolutely loved this doctors office, it was our first visit this November. I chose Dr. Maria Gaviria-Tobon & she was nothing short of wonderful with my little one. Who has a very complex medical history as a micro-preemie & a child with Cp but Dr. made me feel at ease & not rushed to convey all my concerns. There were a lot of needs for R/X of services as usual & most doctors make me feel like they are annoyed, but not Dr. Tobon. I am very happy to have changed here. The entire team was kind from reception to the gentlemen that did height & weight to the lady who did blood work. Looking forward to my little one growing up here. The office was also very clean (my kiddo loved the pirate theme) & easy parking. Oh & they do have a well area & sick area which I prefer. The wait was not long at all, keep in mind there is always waits, that's normal. But for us it felt like we were in & out for her annual check up. I also LOVE that I can get documents online & schedule appts there. All around 10+. read more

W O W. I cannot believe that I'm having to do this, Dr. Romano-Silva WAS our doctor until recently, she couldn't give us a straight up answer to multiple of our questions that we took at face value since we didn't know any better since we're new parents. Until today when I asked other parents about their pediatricians responses to the same questions. The reason I even asked other parents was because she proved to not be a reliable source of information since she told us MULTIPLE times that similac formula is not covered by WIC when in fact it turns out that since LAST YEAR similac is indeed covered. She has caused me to quite literally waste +$300 on just formula when I could've been saving that money in a time where money is seemingly becoming more and more scarce. Today finally I was able to get my formula changed no thanks to this location but because we called WIC to get it figured out. While on the phone with WIC the nutritionist had told us that for some reason from this location it's a hassle to get the form that's necessary. The nutritionist also told us that similac and enfamil do indeed use different ingredients and have different lactose levels (something Dr. Romano-Silva denied when we asked her on our visit). Which leads me believe that this certified Doctor isn't reading the form for WIC or is just trying to collect a paycheck. Now I have a huge memo on my account because of this incident & I don't think I'll be taking my 2 month old child to this location. I'm actually stunned at the revelation of information that has come to my attention and that's why I would like for other parents to read this and be fully aware of what they're getting themselves into before it's too late like how it was for me. read more
