If you're in the LA area and looking for a jiu jitsu gym with heart, this one's for you. My boyfriend has been training here for about 4 years, and he loves it! It can be hard finding a genuinely great place to train, especially in a city so saturated with jiu jitsu gyms, but it's very apparent that Pedigo Submission Fighting is a team built on sincere passion. Everybody there wants you to succeed, and your teammates will quickly become more like family! There's no drama, there's no ego -- just a good community of people passionate about the sport. I've sat on the sidelines to watch numerous times, and I love everybody I've met! Every single person is so welcoming, Derek is an excellent instructor, and each practice offers a great workout. My boyfriend has grown both as an athlete and a person since he's started going, and I'm so proud of him! I'm grateful that he's found a real community in this team, and I feel like I have too. Anybody who's excited about jiu jitsu will benefit by joining, and if you're unsure, at least stop by and try it out :)

Ultimate hidden gem, the training is awesome here...Prof Derek does an amazing job of breaking down the technique and working with everyone to make sure it's understood. We brought the whole family to train and everyone had a great time, you want hard training you got...you're just starting and want to learn Jiu jitsu fundamentals they got it! Don't sleep in this gym, the atmosphere and people here are on point! Thanks for having us guys!

I own a large service, repair and install company across Los Angeles County, and I raced as a child…read moreand professionally through my teens and twenties. I LOVE COMPETITION and I know business. Losing is a phenomenal motivator to hone your skills. We were told about a "friendly" competition at my children's BJJ gym and traveled over an hour to Inspirit for my daughters 2nd and sons first comp. Inspirit is a very clean gym, and we had a pleasant experience throughout the morning and part of the afternoon. The large, enclosed back area felt safe, allowing my youngest to roam around unsupervised. What I think is absolute nonsense is that my daughter, who just earned her grey belt with a white stripe, was moved from a division of three other kids with the same belt to the division with the highest grey belt. They paired my daughter with the owner's daughter, who, in my opinion, is definitely not a grey belt. My daughter fought, tried, and lost, and THAT'S OK. We're PROUD of her and we know what she needs to work on. But what I'm not proud of is the gym lying about it being a friendly competition and then promoting a far less experienced practitioner so their child could win. That's pretty low. A lady next to me, whom I've never seen before, said, "That wasn't even a fair fight," and the coach from our gym later voiced the same opinion to our professor. Our friends voiced that same opinion. To add insult to injury, our gym professor doesn't enter his kids in these "friendly" tournaments due to ethical concerns. So, is this the kind of sportsmanship, ethics and self defense you want to learn or have your kids learn!?! if it is, you've found your gym. Who calls us from the gym to "check up" and then "thank us for our feedback?" - Some random employee who also tried to take responsibility for making the bracket, that's BAD business and I'd bet the family farm she didn't set the brackets - the owners do. At least I now know you're so ashamed of your decisions, you're unwilling to take responsibility for your actions and willing to throw a 7 year old and an adult under the bus. Here's your "feedback"

Would recommend Inspirit Jiujitsu to everyone! Started training with them 2.5 years ago and I am…read morecontinually impressed by their professionalism and quality of training. Whether you're a beginner, experienced hobbyist, or looking for high level competition training, Inspirit has a place for you. The academy is beautifully put together and extremely clean. Their professors are not only knowledgeable and caring, but they lead by example, pushing themselves in competition and displaying discipline daily. As a woman and someone who was not familiar with martial arts it took me a while to feel comfortable and everyone was extremely patient and encouraging. I have built amazing friendships and been able to push my limits in a safe and uplifting environment. Along with adult training I have been able to witness the kids program and how much they instill confidence and discipline at an early age, I have watched kids absolutely transform on and off the mats because of the lessons they learn in training. Inspirit is an amazing academy and a blessing to have in this community!

My middle daughter started with the summer camp with Coach Mishel and Coach Ed, and I was blown away by how hands-on it was. Unlike other camps, they blend STEM activities with martial arts and take the time to know every child on a personal level. Seeing her thrive there was the start of our journey here. My oldest daughter began with the women's kickboxing class and has since expanded into Jiu-Jitsu. Her athleticism and confidence have grown exponentially, and now both she and my middle daughter train jiu-jitsu multiple days a week. As for me, I've become a religious regular at the women's kickboxing class. Every woman should join this! Bo is one of my favorite instructors; he gave me the confidence to keep showing up. I learn something new every single time while constantly sharpening my current skills. I've since branched out into Thai pads, bag classes, intro to fighting, and Muay Thai. A few more shout-outs to the amazing team: * Coach Ed: His strength and conditioning classes are tough, but the results are undeniable. * Coach Riley: He is so patient and kind. I take his bag class and learn so much. He also teaches advanced kickboxing and Muay Thai. * Coach Marcus: He runs everything with such an inspiring focus on building your mindset and reaching your full potential. We never feel uncomfortable here...only stronger. I'm already looking forward to my youngest daughter joining us in the near future.
