We have 25 year old Andersen wooden, engineered floors that were bleached by sunlight and needed…read morere-staining. The top wood panel was only about 1/8 inches thick so you couldn't sand it and the floor division was sold about 20 years ago and we couldn't get the stain. Two floor companies said we need a new floor at the cost of $60,000. Other painters said they couldn't guarantee the new stain would match the old stain. Master Painters took up the challenge and matched the new stain and the old stain perfectively, saving us $60,000. We also purchased hurricane windows and doors. The front door was made out of fiberglass and had a soft brown solid color. We asked Masters Painters to make the door look like wood, highlighting all the wood patterns. It came out perfect again. No one who has visited us knows it's glass and not wood!!

Also added on extra charges at the end ($900), even after clarifying everything before the work was performed. Overall, work was decent, but I can't recommend based on character and price gouging at the end. They painted the entire interior and exterior of the house. I have painted professionally, and I worked along-side the crew part of the time and was able to point out many other things along the way, that probably wouldn't have been done if I wasn't there. Here is a list of issues we had: Exterior: Did not properly scrape loose paint and fill cracks (partially fixed) Missed painting a board on soffit Painted gate wrong color (did fix) Had to go back and re-roll because of lines (did fix) Overspray in a few areas Sand painted into the front door Paint drips around the house Interior: Overspray onto floors and cabinets Paint drips on floor throughout Missed entire sections of wall Did not paint ceiling in 2 closets (was on contract) Did not perform work that he verbally agreed to but didn't want to write into the contract Paint on door handles and outlets Biggest issue was add-on prices and failure to stick with their word. Then, when the job was "done" would not respond to phone calls. Except for billing, when he tried twist contract wording to justify huge add on costs. I can't work with or recommend people like that.

At this time, the painter and I found many other areas where poor paint coverage were discovered. Now less than 1 year later there are more areas where paint is peeling on the walls, soffit, and facia. I recommend you do not hire The Captains Painter. They did very poor preperation and painting work at my home. I am no hiring another contractor to repaint the areas that are peeling. This is very disappointing.
