Unfortunately I didn't read the reviews prior to hiring this company to make repairs on an existing cedar fence. Needed some rotting posts replaced and specifically requested 4 x 4 posts but they brought 4x6 instead which seems like no big deal but the larger posts created issues with the rest of the fence. The person actually doing the work did exactly the opposite of what I told him. For example, I provided specific screws that matched the existing ones but he used nails instead and hammered them in in a random and sloppy way. He also got cement on my bluestone patio and didn't clean it. When I called the office to complain I never received a response, however they were always responsive prior to receiving payment. They appear to me to only be interested in making money as opposed to doing a good job for their clients. There were so many other negative issues with this company but it's impossible to list them all...Just do yourself a favor and steer clear. Zero stars. Definitely DO NOT recommend. read more

Check out their rating. That is more than enough to runaway from this company as far as possible and choose another fencing company (there are plenty out there). Had an issue with my $8000 vinyl fence within 6 months of installation, and as of this writing (4 months later) it still hasn't been resolved. The customer service line is a joke - don't bother calling it since they will promise to call you back and they never do. I've called THEM at least a dozen times, leaving messages but they NEVER return them. Bottom line, they are quick to get your $$ but when it comes to warranty or post install issues and problems, they will leave you high-and-dry with no support whatsoever. read more

Unfortunately, my experience with Peerless Fence was not a great one. Zero communication from them after we put our deposit down. We were given a 4 - 7 week window and at the 8 week mark, after not hearing anything from them, I called customer service to check-in. I was promised someone would be in touch the next week to schedule our fence date. When that week came and went, it took 4 more calls to customer service to get a hold of the project manager in charge of scheduling us. I voiced my frustration about the poor service we received and was promised a call back after checking with their "higher-ups", which we never received. I understand that things happen and businesses get busy but it was very frustrating to invest all of this money upfront and then get ghosted for almost 3 months. At the end of the day, we have a fence, but if we were to do it over, we would not be using Peerless Fence and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. read more

After comparing several quotes from almost all the well known fence companies in the area, IFFT beat all of their prices. Chuck, who came out to measure the yard and give us our estimate, was one of the most friendly people we had ever met and right away we trusted that we were going to get a quality fence for a good price. A week after we got the quote the fence was put up in just one day while we were at work! We ran into some challenges due to the constraints of our yard, but Andy, the manager, came out and solved them, and the guys were able to work them out perfectly. All around impressed with everyone who was able to make this happen, and we now have a beautiful fence we are proud to show off that we got at a great price and faster than we could have imagined. read more

Through Home Depot we subcontracted with Ifft. We ordered and paid in full the first day. We struggled with them since then, hearing different stories from different people in the Company on what they needed from us as far as permits and actual install dates. They came a week later than they said and never gave us an actual date but a range. How unprofessional they were from the start should have been the first indicator of trouble ahead. I specifically told the salesmen the purpose for the fence. I wanted to let the dogs out of the backdoor and let them be fenced in but separate from our pool area. I asked him to make it work the way he would want it at his own home.Well that didn't happen and every time my husband brought things up the man blamed me, was very condescending and rude. Also I guess they figured we didn't want a way in or out our yard so they didn't plan a gate in the plan and now they are making us pay more for it. All he had to do was confirm plans with us. Or maybe provide a professional drawing / mock up of the fence plan. If he thought something didn't seem right maybe pick up a phone and discuss it with us but now they are saying it's too late to fix. Which of course it's not they just are lazy or like providing crappy service. I will say their crew lead, Gage did seem like a nice person and tried to help but his bosses contradicted everything he promised us. So if you want bad customer service, a delayed install, and not even get what you asked for then go with this company. Their leadership is rude and inept. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. Updated: Since I wrote this the top guy at Ifft came over our house and spoke with my husband and I. He agreed with us "100%." Said they would fix everything. That was 7/3. Today is 7/9 and all they have done is pick up a massive, heavy bag of garbage that killed a ton of our grass. And they sure do give us a lot of lip service. According to Ifft, the customer is always wrong. Home Depot and the company that bought Ifft, Peerless, say they will fix this situation. So here's still what's wrong: Part of the fence is different heights, There is garbage all over our yard (metal scrapping, screws, dirt, wood, etc.) - one of our dogs was cut on its paw on a piece of metal sticking out of the concrete, They are trying to charge us nearly $1k more, Our fence is actually wobbly and winds over 25 mph will probably knock it over, There are bolts sticking out. We have kids and dogs who can be hurt by this, They tried to hide extra dirt in a drainage ditch, They poured concrete over our neighbors shrubs and flowers and cut a tree on her property and left debris and branches all over her yard, The fence is right on top of our garden not connected to the house. The fencing we paid for isn't complete - it's scratched and dirty and is missing the caps, The temporary gate they put up doesn't open and scraps the ground. There's more but you'd have to see it to believe it. I really hope Peerless and Home Depot come through for us. Ifft has been awful to deal with; I feel like we've been scammed. A friend of our neighbors who does fencing (boy, do I wish we hired him instead) could not believe how badly our fence looks. Said it's terrible work. How they could do work in this city is unbelievable. We feel ripped off and this honestly has caused us so much stress. We just want the fence we paid for two months ago and this nightmare behind us. read more

Chuck and his guys have done 2 fences for my family in Bloomington/Normal in the last 3 years (we moved). They are timely, efficient, and are priced right. Both fences have been great quality, and have stood the test of time. They stuck with their promised timeline, and delivered a finished, perfect fence within 2 days each time. I can't recommend them more! Hopefully we're finished moving and won't need more fencing anytime soon, but if we did I would call Ifft Quality Fencing every time! read more

We are very happy with our experience from Peerless Fence. We had our old cedar fence replaced. From our salesman, Chuck, to the installation rep, Andy to the guys who came and did the work, all were very professional. It was less than a week from Chuck giving our estimate, to Andy calling to schedule the job. It snowed and they had to reschedule, buy Andy was right on it, calling to let us know and had another date ready. The guys who installed the fence were very careful around our yard and did not leave it muddy or messy. We would recommend Peerless. read more

Putting my review back up as somehow it was removed (Chuck asked me to take it down because it was causing him to lose business and I refused). Ifft is the best price in town, but we sacrificed service and quality to save money. It took months beyond the promised date to get our fence installed and then more months to get the defective gate they put in replaced. My husband had to get rude with the office staff to get any information or commitment. It was finally repaired and all in working order... Just took a long time and ALOT of phone calls on our part to get the job done. We had several panels blow out in the wind, but hired Bloomington Fence to repair it. Came to give our neighbors a estimate and ending up digging up and tearing up our grass. He also did a lot of damage to under ground power lines and irrigation systems for our parents. He refused to pay this and stated it was not their fault. My parents ended up having to threaten him with legal action before Chuck agreed to pay for half of the damages. I would contact A1 Fencing for outstanding quality customer service and work. They did our second fence and most of our neighbors fences as we told them to stay away from Ifft. read more

I have had nothing but bad experiences with this company and they have yet to complete their work. My neighbor hired them to replace her chain link fence with a wood fence Dec 2017. It appears the crew decided to start a job two days before the weathermen were predicting a winter storm. It was no surprise when the job was not completed and the storm hit. While my neighbor was not living in her house at the time it was a terrible inconvenience to my family. I have a dog of my own and when they took down that fence it left my yard completely open in the front, side and back. Ifft then didn't return to finish the job for 21 DAYS. That's 21 DAYS that my dog was not able to enjoy the freedom of a fenced in yard. For weeks he was trapped in the house or restricted by a leash. When they finally returned to complete the fence they apparently installed the vertical slats on the wrong side and had to remove them and reinstall them. The result was an unfinished yard for several weeks. Meanwhile they left all their garbage in my yard while they were gone. They eventually took the giant roll of chain link fence. Once they left I took a walk along the fence line and found dozens and dozens of chunks of metal and nails lying all over my yard. In addition, when the existing chain link fence posts were removed it appears as if they were cut with a saw. They were not cut flush or even below the ground line. They were cut 2-3 inches above ground level and are sharp and dangerous. I will not be able to run a lawn mower around them and I am worried for my dog's safety. Thankfully my dog has not yet been injured and I pray he (or my family) never is but I'm sure I haven't found every piece of metal this company neglectfully left in my yard not to mention the jagged metal posts that remain in the ground. I would advise AGAINST ever hiring this company. They have been extremely unresponsive and do not care about the quality of their work in the slightest. read more

Horrible! Women, dont be alone with him. Tried to put a standard gate on a slope, even though it was specifically written into the contract for a sloped gate. Tried to physically intimidate me into paying for the fence in full, even though the gate was wrong. When Chuck finally put the correct gate on and came for the rest of the payment, he said the city had charged us a large fine for not getting a permit. Called the city and they said the fine was 100% his, that we should not have paid it. He refused to give our money back. read more

I should have listened to all the reviews and my co-workers. While my fence looks good, I hope it holds up. The customer service of this company is AWFUL. We waited about two and a half months from signing the contract for anyone to show up to put the fence in, with each week's excuse being the weather. We know we didn't wait as long as some people have. But the gates didn't come at the same time as the fence. It took 3 more weeks of calling to get Chuck to come put the gates up. The office told me on the phone that they would call me to make sure Chuck had made it, and to verify the work was completed. All that really happened was that Chuck showed up to my front door on the Monday night of Thanksgiving week demanding his money. He threatened that if he didn't receive his money, he would take my fence down. Putting the check in the mail was not good enough for him, he wanted it right then. Beware, that's how they treat customers. They don't care if you are satisfied with their service (no one ever asked), they just want the money. read more

This is the worst company I have ever hired. Call after call after call and never get a return call. Finally got my fence up, and a storm blew a branch down on it. Call, call, call again. Finally got to talk to Kristi who said she would let Chuck know, never got a call from anyone, again. Finally got not a phone call but an e mail from Kristi stating she forwarded everything to chuck. Havent heard a word. Do not do business with this company you will regret it. They are good at advertising, but have the worst customer service i have ever seen. We gave Chuck Ifft one-half of the fee for putting up a backyard privacy fence last April. This is August and he still hasn't come to do the job. We have called him many times and he always promises to be here in the next few days. We have been patient up to now, but a wait of 100 days is a bit much! read more

Horrible service. They demand half the payment up front and then wait months to actually do the job. Every week mr ifft will have a new excuse on why he cant do the job. Also when they finally came they did not have the drawing of where to put the fence and put it in the wrong spot which ended up hitting our sprinkler lines. They then put duct tape on it, filled the hole with dirt and we didnt find out until our sprinkler people came out the following spring. Do not trust these people. They are lazy and suck at their profession. read more
